Nuxeo Offers Amazon S3 Online Storage for Nuxeo Content Repository

Nuxeo, the Open Source Enterprise Content Management (ECM) platform company, announced today the availability of the a new package in the Nuxeo Marketplace that enables the Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3) online storage of files uploaded to a Nuxeo content repository. The component, Amazon S3 Online Storage, offers an easy, cost-effective option for managing Nuxeo application file storage on the cloud.

Content management applications often manage large volumes of information that in some cases grow quickly and can burden an organization’s IT resources. Amazon S3 offers off site data storage with a pricing scheme based on usage in a highly secure setting, making it an attractive option for content solution architects or administrators who need the flexibility of online file storage options.

When installed in a Nuxeo platform-based application such as Nuxeo Document Management, Nuxeo Digital Asset Management, or Nuxeo Case Management Framework, the Amazon S3 Online Storage component enables access to an Amazon S3 account, so that files can be stored remotely in a way that is completely transparent to the application user. Configuration options for the combined Amazon S3 / Nuxeo technology file storage solution include data encryption and geographic location for storage.

The Amazon S3 Online Storage component is available immediately as a Nuxeo Marketplace package. Nuxeo encourages community members who try this new option to send feedback. Nuxeo Connect subscribers can install it through the Update Center of their Nuxeo application. Non-Connect subscribers can sign up for a 30-day trial of Nuxeo Connect for access to the Nuxeo Marketplace packages.
