The Danish software house Composite has released a new version of their top rated open source CMS, Composite C1. Version 3.0 of the popular content management system features over 30 new functions and improvements that will make life easier for everyone whether they be editors or developers. Easy for end users For the end users the team has improved the editing and user experience in Composite C1 with a ton of new cool features. Amongst others seamless copy/paste from Microsoft Word, a new instant upload feature that allows users to upload images and documents on the spot while editing pages, and full support for HTML 5, script and iframe ensuring that editors can now load external content on their site. A unique playground for developers Composite C1 has always been known for its coder friendly environment, but in 3.0 the possibilities are second to none, enabling embedding of both established technology like ASP.NET Web Forms and cutting edge ASP.NET Razor Web Pages. This makes Composite C1 the only Open Source CMS that offers side-by-side support for Razor, ASP.NET Web forms, MVC and XSLT. Upgrade is a breeze For members of the Composite C1 upgrade-program upgrading to 3.0 is easier than ever. The new C1 Package from www.composite.net is easily installed and gives the users instant access to all the new features. Including improved URLs that makes web sites’ URL easier to read for humans and search engines, thus improving presence on the web.
This is without a doubt our biggest release since we decided to go open source. We are especially proud of our new Razor support which was created with the help of the community and the many new improvements for the editors. Now we look forward to the next major release that will include all new starter sites and even better cloud support«, said CEO Oskar Lauritzen.
