Liferay Promises Free iPads for Liferay Training Attendees

Liferay, provider of the world’s leading enterprise-class open source portal, today announced that attendees of select Liferay Training Courses in the United States will now receive a free iPad 2 device.

Liferay training is guided by the expertise of experienced Liferay trainers. Attendees benefit from a hands-on approach that enables attendees to learn material effectively and quickly. Liferay Training classes are scheduled near major U.S. cities including Los Angeles, Chicago, Orlando, Philadelphia, San Francisco, and Washington, D.C. Liferay System Admin Training
The three-day Liferay System Admin Training starts with an introduction to Liferay Portal: what it is, what it can do, and why you should use it. Attendees will see some use cases for running Liferay Portal and learn how they might apply the power of the platform to their own environment. The class also reviews how to connect Liferay Portal to databases and application servers, cluster Liferay instances on virtual machines, and tune Liferay portals for the fastest performance.

Liferay Developer Training
The three-day Liferay Developer Training includes an introduction to Liferay, portals in general, and the strategic reasons that developers can benefit from implementing application as part of a portal framework rather than as a standalone web application. Attendees will learn about the Liferay Software Development Kit, details about various types of Liferay Plugins, and how to set up the Liferay development environment. In addition to the iPad 2, all students attending Liferay Developer training will receive a copy of the Liferay Developer Studio, which provides an all-in-one integrated development environment for Liferay Portal Enterprise Edition platform. The installation of Liferay Developer Studio includes the Liferay-Tomcat bundle and the Liferay Plugins SDK.
