eZ Systems announced the release of a new version of eZ Platform, its easy-to-use, developer and editor friendly digital platform. This new, much-awaited, version (2.5) is the long term supported release (LTS) for the version 2 innovation cycle that reaches its final point. It is full-featured and ready for Customers to launch and build their digital experiences.
It provides all the novelties that were introduced in version 2 development, especially:
<ul>
<li>The new, easy-to-use Page Builder, providing best-in-class editorial experience and unequaled automation capabilities. Unlike other site and page builders, eZ Platform’s new component is designed to be simply and sustainably extended and customized by enterprises for their own needs.</li>
<li>Its direct companion, the Form Builder, will allow organizations to capture information from their audience in an efficient and controlled way while respecting privacy requirements and providing developers with all means to customize the interactions with the end-users.</li>
<li>The re-designed Workflow engine builds on top of the content platform which finally lets organizations define and enforce complex editorial business processes while ensuring a straightforward and streamlined user experience for both editors and administrators.</li>

As is always the case with eZ Systems software, a substantial effort has been made to ensure that the platform is first and foremost a productive, efficient and innovative technical solution for developers and designers to customize and extend quickly to meet the needs of each specific business need. For that,  it embraces the PHP Symfony framework more closely than ever, offering the most complete Symfony CMS solution on the market place. The platform has also been designed having in mind eZ Platform and eZ Publish prior users, ensuring there is a clear and quick path for them to upgrade their projects from either eZ Publish or eZ Platform version 1 to version 2.
Together with this v2.5 release comes a list of smaller yet crucial improvements for developers such as:

<li>Stable, full-featured GraphQL API allowing developers to implement headless content management projects with speed and ease of use, eliminating the limitation of the RESTful APIs.</li>
<li>The foundation for supporting different database systems starting with PostgreSQL that is now fully supported, in addition to MySQL and MariaDB.</li>
<li>The introduction of the Webpack Encore web asset delivery system that will simplify and further improve the management of CSS, javascript, icons and other web assets.</li>

<a href="http://ez.no/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"> eZ Publish</a> have released version 5.3 of their popular platform with an impressive 59 new features, 233 bug fixes &amp; 69 improvements.
The Content Management (CMS) &amp; Customer Experience (CXM) platform offers many tools to help publish content across multiple channels, create eCommerce websites, and more.
Version 5.3 of eZ Publish is the fourth major release in the 5 series, and has been labelled a Long Term Supported release (LTS). This means that it will be supported up to end of May 2019 with extended support.

eZ Publish 5.3 puts a lot of effort into making things easier for developers to use the platform efficiently.

One of the ways eZ Publish 5.3 helps developers, is through improved documentation that will naturally make it easier to anyone to get started.
Furthermore, version 5.3 brings about drastically improved integration of the Symfony environment, along with the capability to easily build websites relying on the “eZ Platform” stack (“New Stack”) – removing dependencies on the legacy stack (4.x).
The eZ Publish Demo Site has also been improved to progressively become the reference for developers to see how features can be used to build their Websites.
Among the many enhancements made to the Demo Site, is the ready-to-use feature called “Places”, which shows ou how to best deal with geolocation and how to search on geolocated data, thanks to the latest improvement in the eZ Publish API and in SolR. Essentially, the “Places” feature enables you to quickly create your own listing of places (such as a business directory) and display them efficiently.

In the Administration Interface, the dashboard is now the default landing space for users in the administration, providing access to the latest and greatest assets such as user drafts, pending items, and more. in order to improve user experience, eZ has reshaped the Administration Interface along rigorous guidelines:to optimize the work space, streamlining the interface, and removing redundant or under-used itemsreduce the number of clicks to get things done,leverage Ajax technology to provide more dynamic features without requesting reloads of the full page A full-screen edition mode immerses users in their content, increasing efficiency and ease of use in the Administration Interface.
Content Engine is at the core of eZ Publish, allowing users to define their own content structures and content types in unbeatable time frames and without additional development. With this new release, eZ makes this Content Engine even more powerful thanks to improvements in the way content types are managed.
<h3>Unsurpassed User Generated Content</h3>
eZ Publish 4.3 provides a brand new User Generated Content module for advanced commenting by end users–the next step towards engaging users more successfully on your websites. 
User Generated Content goes far beyond simple commenting. The new system includes user registration and subscription to push notification of activity on the commented items, self-edition of comments and full comment control, for a best-of-breed user comment feature on your websites. 
The built-in setup of the User Comment system fits most use cases, however, the system is flexible enough for your most niche demands: add form fields, captcha, change role permissions, change templates–everything is customizable and extensible, in accordance with eZ' design philosophy !
<h3>Teamroom, the Collaboration Solution, based on eZ Publish</h3>
The Teamroom collaboration solution is a full-featured collaboration portal enabling users to share their information in an efficient and straight-forward manner.
Teamroom facilitates project planning and management. With Teamroom organizations can plan, manage and control projects and project teams, build a project-specific knowledge base of documents, discussions, blogs and any other relevant information; optimize communication in accordance with Enterprise 2.0 software best practices, exchange and discuss relevant news and information, plan milestones and tasks, organize dates and events, manage, archive discussions via message boards, organize all your projects in a single, centralized location with flexible, fully customizable permission options.
<h3>Other news and improvements</h3>
In addition to the main features introduced above, the reliability and quality of eZ Publish 4.3 has made significant strides beyond its predecessors. With eZ Publish 4.3, end users benefit from many enhancements and minor bug fixes as well as improved documentation, and testing, including an updated eZ Find with better multi-lingual handling, facets, performance enhancements, a new eZ Script Monitor extension for background script processing, updates to the eZ JS Core, eZ Multiupload, and eZ Survey modules, an improved LDAP login handler, and an updated iPhone Web Application.
A number of promising new extensions are on track for eZ Premium service certification in eZ Publish 4.3, extending the platform in exciting new ways. The CMIS Client, a collaboration with eZ's business partner NXC, provides full CMIS 1.0 client support to eZ Publish, the CJW Newsletter is a new additional module for newsletter management, while XRow e-commerce provides a global e-commerce solution on top of eZ Publish. Many other extensions are forthcoming.
