</ul>

TikiWiki Announces Tiki 5.0 Beta

<img title="Tikiwiki logo" src="https://cmscritic.com/ms-content/uploads/2021/07/585px-tikiwiki_logo_svg_-150x150_emkc7p.png" />Tiki has released the first public build of the next-generation release of TikiWiki CMS/Groupware. Labeled as Tiki 5.0 Alpha, this latest release includes updates, fixes, and a host of brand new features including:
<ul>
<li>Tiki workspaces</li>
<li>Shopping cart and payments</li>
<li>WebDAV connectivity</li>
<li>New themes and skins</li>
</ul>
Tiki Community members, testers, and early adopters can download the 5.0 Alpha release from SourceForge: http://sourceforge.net/projects/tikiwiki/files/. Please note that this Alpha release is for testing only and should not be used for production sites. Daily builds are also available from http://dev.tikiwiki.org/Daily+Build.
Much of the final work for these new features was completed during the recent TikiFest in Montréal, Canada. TikiFests are a tradition of the TikiWiki community in which Tiki contributors who usually collaborate online, get an opportunity to meet in person. Future TikiFests are scheduled in Canada, Poland, Brazil, Germany, and the United States. Over 35 TikiFests have been held.
The Tiki Software Community Association
The Tiki Community is proud to announce the formation of the Tiki Software Community Association. This incorporated non-profit entity was formed by members of the Tiki Admin Group (TAG) with the goal of supporting the ongoing work and development of TikiWiki. The association will serve as the primary point of contact for the community, handle infrastructure and community tasks, and provide stewardship of community trademarks.
The association is also charged with maintaining the Tiki Community's unique social contract (http://tikiwiki.org/Social+Contract) which features a development model that uses the “wiki way” and open participation. Congratulations to Marc Laporte and the rest of the team for their awesome work. It was a hard fought battle with Xoops for first place but Tiki took over in the end and won this year with the most votes.

Announcing the Peoples Choice for Best Free CMS Nominees!

Tiki Wiki CMS Groupware: Celebrating eight years of continuous development
This month marks the 8-year anniversary of the release of (what is now called) Tiki Wiki CMS Groupware. Since the initial release in October 2002, Tiki has grown from a wiki solution into a full-featured, web-based, content management solution.
To date, more than 200 people have contributed to the Tiki code-base, with hundreds more to other parts of the project (documentation, support, etc) making Tiki one of the largest open source projects in the world(http://www.ohloh.net/p/tikiwiki/factoids/). With new code commits averaging every two hours, Tiki is in a continuous development cycle and its “wiki way” development process means that the community is very dynamic and agile.

Gatherings of Tiki Community members take place across the globe. These “TikiFests” are a chance for community members to plan, discuss, and code Tiki features (and socialize!). More than 50 events have occurred, with many more planned in the upcoming months.
Recent partnerships with Kaltura and BigBlueButton for collaborative videos and web conferencing, respectively, ensure that Tiki continues to move forward. The upcoming Tiki 6 release introduces a host of new features and enhancements.
