Kentico CMS version 5.0 was released on December 23, 2009 and this is no small update.
The developer team have worked hard to integrate enterprise level functionality into this release and according to the changes, they've left no stone unturned.
This new release has been optimized to handle 1,000,000 users and 100,000 documents in the database as well and also allows for SQL server replication which is something that was missing in previous releases. This means you can now copy your database and run it over multiple servers to increase performance. This is a very welcome change.
In order to allow for maximum user acceptance and adoption, they have also integrated a new option that allows administrators to adjust the view based on roles. What this means is that users who do not have certain functions within the system, will simply not see those menus at all which reduces confusion and complexity and increases comfort levels.
