Liferay has certified the Nuxeo Platform as a content source for Liferay Portal 6.1 Enterprise Edition (EE). Both software solutions, which are Java-based and open source, are compliant with the OASIS CMIS (Content Management Interoperability Services) standard. A CMIS-based connector enables a Nuxeo content repository to interface seamlessly with the Liferay Document Repository, so that content, such as documents and images, from a Nuxeo Document Management or Digital Asset Management application, can be referenced directly by a Liferay web portal via the Liferay Documents and Media Gallery.
The new integration comes in the context of Liferay Portal 6.1’s improved document management capabilities, which allow enterprises to integrate multiple enterprise repositories, including Nuxeo, and manage and access their documents across Liferay applications. The Nuxeo Platform allows users to create, review, and manage documents, and CMIS enables this content to be accessed via Liferay Portal and other CMIS consumers. This additional interoperability with Liferay Portal means that content can remain in the Nuxeo repository, eliminating the need to copy documents from one tool to another.

CMIS: Having co-sponsored development of the standard, Magnolia CMS 4.5 now incorporates a standard CMIS application programming interface (API). Page editing has been made even simpler and more intuitive, empowering the users, whilst ensuring continuity through defined rules, corporate style and structures. Magnolia CMS delivers ‘inline editing’ in the main website with no need for content authors to use a confusing admin interface.
Once logged in as an editor, authorised users can simply click on the relevant section in the site to edit text and make changes. New content is created through clear placeholders in relevant sections, and content can also be moved quickly and easily using an intuitive user interface that guides the editor.
For developers, the new templating API changes the way Magnolia sites are written. The new API is not only more powerful but also faster, easier and more logical to learn. Primarily a technical change, for corporate users the API improvements also dramatically reduce the training, implementation and maintenance cost of Magnolia CMS.
Based on standard Java classes, the new API also allows the use/reuse of components built in other standardised templating languages such as Cold Fusion, in conjunction with, or even replacing, Magnolia’s own STK.

<h4>ASP.NET MVC template support</h4>
ASP.NET MVC (version 3) has become a very popular method for developing web sites and applications on the .Net platform. With this release of Webnodes CMS, templates can now be developed using MVC. Webforms and MVC are equally supported for template development in Webnodes, and both will continue to be supported in the future. You can also mix the two types in the same project.
<h4>New mobile features</h4>
Webnodes CMS now has built in features for mobile web development. The framework enables developers to write separate templates and to easily customize a version of the website for mobiles. An extendable mobile detection method has been added as well as specialized user interface controls to make mobile web development as simple as possible. The CMS editor interface also has a new mobile preview mode that lets you see how a page might look on a typical smartphone.
<h4>E-commerce module v3.0</h4>
New in this release is version 3.0 of the e-commerce module in Webnodes CMS. This version continues the rapid introduction of new features the module has seen since inception. Our development team has rewritten the provider system, decoupled the payment system, improved the user-interface, added dynamic attachment support and restructured the email notification system.
The improvements have focused on improving the user experience for editors and improving the already class leading extensibility of the module.

Together with the new version of the e-commerce module, we’re also releasing a new advanced e-commerce demo and starter site. The new demo site is called “The Webnodes Shoe Store”. It shows you how you can build a sophisticated e-commerce site in Webnodes with the help of some of the hot new technologies like SignalR, which uses web sockets from HTML5 for real-time interactive product search.
Building on the release of Webnodes with Schema.org support that we announced in November, the templates in the e-commerce demo also contains Schema.org markup for improved traffic from search engines.

Hippo and Alogient Focused On Solving Enterprise Content and Collaboration

Revevol, which has already deployed more than 700,000 Google Apps licenses in 17 countries and 4 continents, has announced the creation of Revevol Apps, a new subsidiary based in San Francisco dedicated to developing web-based applications that will help more mid- to large companies migrate to Google Apps.
