<a href="http://www.1and1.com/?ac=OM.US.USj13K353625T7073a" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Web hosting</a> used to be a basic affair. You had the code, and your <a href="http://www.1and1.com/?ac=OM.US.USj13K353625T7073a" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">web host</a> had the space to store it for showing off online. That’s about as far as it went.
But today, a web <a href="http://www.1and1.com/?ac=OM.US.USj13K353625T7073a" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">host</a> shouldn’t be just a web host.
<a href="http://www.1and1.com/?AC=http://www.1and1.com/?AC=OM.US.USj13K353625T7073a" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><img alt="sshot-11.png" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/uVpKr5amZJS8IOQ6ZYAJhQK49jB6h8NPRte4OdG6y1r-eHYSGjo8_0tVBdNtq7lYkWY83m8uMZjnKRFf-VK8Ih_gSS6GMA7t6lvRyiicKoalSWoqXDUVIpFiIXkWXemt25dQ-TQ" /></a>
As the Internet continues to transform, spurring customers into demanding more quantity and better quality, it’s vital that your web host can provide the power and flexibility you need for what’s happening today, as well as for whatever new trend hits tomorrow.
Continuing our featured week on from yesterday’s look at <a href="http://www.1and1.com/?AC=http://www.1and1.com/?AC=OM.US.USj13K353625T7073a" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">1&amp;1 Internet’s</a> customer centric approach, let’s now delve into how the <a href="http://www.1and1.com/?ac=OM.US.USj13K353625T7073a" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">web hosting company</a> exceeds being just a place to hang your website.
<h2>Features You Can Grow With</h2>
To go with its promise of 99.9% uptime for all websites, 1&amp;1 Internet gives their users everything they need to build and grow their online presence.
Firstly, with WordPress being the most popular software on the web for building websites, 1&amp;1 Internet serves up specialized <a href="http://www.1and1.com/wordpress-blog-hosting?ac=OM.US.USj13K353625T7073a">WordPress Hosting</a> solutions.
<a href="http://www.1and1.com/?ac=OM.US.USj13K353625T7073a" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">The WordPress Hosting package</a> comes bundled with a setup plugin exclusive to 1&amp;1 customers, which simplifies installation and site configuration in just 3 steps. Plus, 1&amp;1 Internet recommends selected plugins based on the customer’s chosen industry.
1&amp;1 Internet also offers two avenues into web hosting, Safe Mode and Free Mode, catering to both new and experienced users.
Safe Mode is best suited for small and medium-sized businesses, providing security updates and regular maintenance by 1&amp;1. This method offers the convenience of a fully managed platform completely secured by 1&amp;1’s experienced team of technicians.
Free Mode, as the name suggests, gives the customer the freedom to customize their web hosting experience. For convenience, scalability or security purposes, customers can switch between the two modes at any time, quickly and easily.
<h2>Flexibility You Can Work With</h2>
On top of all those extra features above, 1&amp;1 Internet boasts enough flexibility to suit a range of project types.
<a href="http://www.1and1.com/server?AC=http://www.1and1.com/?AC=OM.US.USj13K353625T7073a">Thanks to 1&amp;1 Internet’s variety of server types</a>, complex solutions like Virtual Private Servers, Dedicated Servers, and Cloud Servers become simple for professionals to use.
Furthermore, with 1&amp;1 Internet’s geo-redundant solution, data is stored on two separate servers, geographically located in two different data centers.
Therefore, should something directly affect one data center or server, the hosted data and applications are automatically switched to the second server. This ensures that a business website is constantly operating with no downtime and is always accessible, even if something goes wrong or routine maintenance is necessary.
For businesses with international audiences, their web properties need to guarantee positive experiences for each and every visitor, no matter where they are located. To make that happen, 1&amp;1 hosting offers a content delivery network (CDN) for both dynamic and static content to ensure data is delivered optimally on all devices, anywhere in the world.
Plus, with over 70,000 servers currently in operation, 1&amp;1 Internet can be trusted to handle almost any project, whether it be large, small or gigantic.
To find out more about 1&amp;1 Internet as a web hosting solution, <a href="http://www.1and1.com/?AC=http://www.1and1.com/?AC=OM.US.USj13K353625T7073a">check out their website</a>.

1&1 Hosting: Not just Web Space

Sometimes, a company just seems approachable. Friendly, even. <a href="http://www.1and1.com/?AC=OM.US.USj13K353625T7073a" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">1&amp;1 Internet</a> is one such company.
It could be the branding, or the simple user interfaces, or perhaps even the company’s marketing efforts as a whole. Whatever it is, it’s working.
However, the true approachability of a company is either proven or exposed at one crucial point: customer support.
<a href="http://www.1and1.com/?AC=OM.US.USj13K353625T7073a" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><img alt="sshot-6.png" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/hTjjeDo1Shd8JyRrJqdNWV0Iyegc9vDGn137gvZ_RrkpOhmxwcH18GcQfuP_1Ilue8dF_4ATFuBuzFnqd54B2QxVeaTcFRVenHjkJ33x0xavIOurZ5NGnSe0-Hc5V2DOmM671kQ" /></a>
To kick off our featured week with <a href="http://www.1and1.com/?AC=OM.US.USj13K353625T7073a" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">1&amp;1 Internet</a>, we’re taking a look at their excellent level of customer support – an area of their business which they take very seriously.
<h2>24 Hour Expert Support</h2>
If you have already sampled a variety of website <a href="http://www.1and1.com/?AC=OM.US.USj13K353625T7073a" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">hosting</a> companies, you will likely know of the agony of customer support being “offline” when you’re facing a problem that’s proving hard to solve.
If you’re totally new to the world of <a href="http://www.1and1.com/?ac=OM.US.USj13K353625T7073a" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">web hosting</a>, then you’ll just have to take my word on it being a painfully frustrating time.
Your website needs to be up and running all the time, and if it isn’t an absent web <a href="http://www.1and1.com/?AC=OM.US.USj13K353625T7073a" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">host</a> simply isn’t good enough.
Here's where 1&amp;1’s customer focus comes in.
With 24-hour support, you can approach their support staff at any time of the day (or night), via phone or email.
The kicker, however, is that 1&amp;1 Internet doesn’t just give you access to support staff, they give you access to experts. Specializing in platforms like WordPress and Joomla, these members of their support team can help tackle your CMS problems faster.
<h2>Social Support</h2>
Sometimes you have more of a query than a problem.
For those less urgent matters, 1&amp;1 Internet’s support system offers a social dimension to get things straightened out in a more casual manner.
First and foremost, is the <a href="http://community.1and1.com/">1&amp;1 Community</a>. Here, useful articles and tips are distributed, with contributions coming from the 1&amp;1 community itself. There’s nothing like advice from people who are in the same digital boat.
Next, the <a href="http://blog.1and1.com">1&amp;1 Internet blog</a> is geared towards entrepreneurs looking to grow their business online, with 1&amp;1 Internet powering their web properties. Their blog posts typically serve up business tips, advice, trends, and news from industry experts.
And finally, the company has created a team dedicated towards handling inquiries via social media (Facebook, Twitter, Forums, etc). This Social Support team …
<h2>Center of Attention</h2>
With 24-hour support, a regularly updated blog and a community to reach out to at any time, 1&amp;1 Internet is designed to put you – the customer – at the center of attention.
And if you ever feel like you aren’t, 1&amp;1 even offers <a href="http://help.1and1.com/">a massive online knowledge base</a>, where a wide range of common support questions are answered in detail, with images and annotations.
It’s this customer centric attitude that makes 1&amp;1 Internet an excellent web <a href="http://www.1and1.com/?ac=OM.US.USj13K353625T7073a" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">hosting</a> solution, particularly for those new to website <a href="http://www.1and1.com/?ac=OM.US.USj13K353625T7073a" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">hosting</a>.

As a small business owner, entrepreneur or startup founder, you specialize in frugality, creativity and innovation — but are you taking advantage of all the best free and low cost tools available for your marketing needs?
Probably not, and it’s often because there’s so many options that you don’t have time to comb through them all.
To help get your project organized and in front of more paying customers, here are seven affordable marketing tools that you probably overlooked.
<h2>1. Google Drive</h2>
Struggling for space?
Google Drive's cloud storage allows for virtual offices, lower overheads, and freedom for your marketing team to share, download and upload from anywhere.
There are seemingly limitless options for sharing, storing and editing documents/media online, but Google Drive remains one of the best. It offers an incredible amount of free storage (often more than enough for small businesses) and it’s popular enough that many people are already familiar with how it works.
<a href="http://drive.google.com" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Visit the website</a>
<h2>2. Shoeboxed</h2>
One of the best options for storing, organizing and safeguarding receipts in the cloud so you can share with your CPA when the time is right.
All those little business expenses add up, from the parking meter to meet a client to buying a refill cartridge for your stapler. Write off enough and you can inch your way into a lower tax bracket (and perhaps into paying lower taxes).

<h2>3. Canva</h2>
You know a picture’s worth 1,000 words, but what’s an infographic worth?
In an era where numerous studies show that people would rather look at a graphic than read blocks of text, infographics have become a marketing mainstay. Canva is a free website where you can create stunning graphics without needing an art degree. Perfect for startups who don’t have a graphic designer on board.

<h2>4. Simply Measured</h2>
There's nothing like a free offering from an ordinarily premium service.
Simply Measured offers free performance analysis for all major social networks, so you can see where your accounts are succeeding and failing. They even serve up free traffic source analysis and a free trial of their premium platform.

<h2>5. Babble-on</h2>
If you don’t have app localization, you’re missing out on the majority of your potential app customers. This goes beyond translation and includes cultural sensitivities, formatting, and details like currency and measurements.
You can’t get localization for free, but at $0.21 per word and other special package deals, Babble-on offers fantastic prices for a team of localization experts. (Want “just” translation? Google Translate works in a pinch).

<h2>6. Ultimate Guest Blogger </h2>
Need more content?
Guest blogs are an incredible way to reach new audiences, build your online reputation and create a symbiotic relationship between yourself (or your company) and the blogging world. Ultimate guest blogger is free software that links the best guest bloggers with appropriate “other” blogs.

<h2>7. YouTube</h2>
Yes, technically this YouTube is social media, and it’s certainly not anything new — but it's is an often overlooked marketing tool.
Video content is becoming more and more relevant in the world of marketing, and your startup shouldn't ignore the potential benefits of a simply YouTube channel with some interviews or product demonstrations uploaded.
<a href="https://www.youtube.com">Visit the website</a>
<h2>Over To You</h2>
The face of marketing is changing with “martech” becoming an in-demand job description, and ways of reaching audiences are constantly shifting.
Keeping up with enterprise-grade tools with startup budgets isn't easy, but the seven solutions above should hopefully take the edge off. What are your favored marketing tools? Let us know in the comments below.

<a href="https://processwire.com" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">ProcessWire</a>, the open-source PHP platform, has some updates well worth noting.
CMS Critic itself is powered by ProcessWire, an exciting product that was recently <a href="/2014-critics-choice-award-winner-best-free-php-cms/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">crowned winner of the 2014 Critic's Choice Award for Best Free PHP CMS</a>.ProcessWire 2.6.1 has been made the new master version, pushing ProcessWire 2.6.2 to the dev branch with all new field-level access control and overrides support. Let's dig a little deeper.
<h2>What's New With ProcessWire (Version 2.6.2)</h2>
Updates including the <a href="https://processwire.com/blog/posts/processwire-core-updates-2.6.1-and-more/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">page editor reminding you to save your work</a> have been made to vesion 2.6.1, making it the latest master version of ProcessWire.
Version 2.6.2 is now the latest dev release, which adds the following:
<h3>Field-level Permissions: A Whole New Level of Granularity for Built-in Access Control:</h3>
The introduction of field-level permissions into 2.6.2 has been labeled as a “big announcement” by the ProcessWire team.
Until now, permissions have been managed at a template level, meaning essentially that the superuser can decide which roles have view and/or edit access to any given template.
Because permissions are inherited from the parent page to any other pages using a template that doesn't define its own permissions, this system should be both simple and (relatively) flexible. Various 3rd party modules already provide features for users wishing for more control than the template-level access control system can offer, but lately, we've also seen increasing amounts of requests for a more granular core-level access control system.
This latest core update brings very similar access control to the fields themselves, meaning that instead of giving a specific role edit access to a template as a whole, you can actually specify which individual fields a given role can view or edit.
Additionally, these settings can be redefined on a per-template basis, giving superusers a whole lot of new control over how site content is managed (or viewed, for that matter).
<a href="http://mandrillapp.com/track/click/30485604/processwire.com?p=eyJzIjoiUUIxSXpNX29GR2I4WE1EVFg0YTQ4c0ZaM3NRIiwidiI6MSwicCI6IntcInVcIjozMDQ4NTYwNCxcInZcIjoxLFwidXJsXCI6XCJodHRwOlxcXC9cXFwvcHJvY2Vzc3dpcmUuY29tXFxcL2Jsb2dcXFwvcG9zdHNcXFwvZmllbGQtcGVybWlzc2lvbnMtb3ZlcnJpZGVzLWFuZC1tb3JlLTIuNi4yXFxcLyNncmFudWxhci1hY2Nlc3MtY29udHJvbC13aXRoLWZpZWxkLWxldmVsLXBlcm1pc3Npb25zXCIsXCJpZFwiOlwiNmVhMjk2MTA5NTk5NDllNDhlMDJhYzQ3OWQ0M2YwZmZcIixcInVybF9pZHNcIjpbXCI5MTU4NjUxMTZhZjJjZGIwMGM0YmQ0NWE1YTNiMmIwMDMzMGJlNjNkXCJdfSJ9" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Read more about ProcessWire's new field-level permissions</a>.
<h3>New Overrides Tab: Improves Manageability of Per-template Changes (Or Overrides)</h3>
Another new addition to ProcessWire 2.6.2 also affects fields.
When editing a field, there's a new tab by the name of “overrides”, and what this tab contains is a list of all the per-template changes made to the settings of the current field. Per-template values are displayed right next to global ones, making this view very easy to read and understand.
Not only does the overrides tab allow you to see changes made to field settings, but it also allows you to remove them if you so choose. Especially considering the new per-template field-level permissions, this new tool can really come in handy!

A Look At ProcessWire's Latest Core Updates

<a href="http://www.clarabridge.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Clarabridge, Inc.</a> today announced the acquisition of <a href="https://engagor.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Engagor,</a> the most comprehensive platform for real-time social customer service and engagement. The combined offering provides a complete, end-to-end technology solution for marketers, customer care organizations and operations teams to create more profitable customer relationships.
Founded by Folke Lemaitre in 2011, Belgium-based Engagor offers a robust social listening and engagement platform for marketers and customer care organizations at Fortune 1000 businesses. With the acquisition of Engagor, Clarabridge now offers more extensive customer experience management capabilities. The Clarabridge platform, which collects, analyzes, and activates customer feedback data from all channels, gains the additional functionality of advanced social listening, publishing, governance, along with real-time social customer service and engagement.
<blockquote>
“As the market has expanded, leading enterprises are looking for solutions that can bring together customer feedback from all channels into one intelligence hub, and a robust mechanism for intelligently engaging with customers,” said Sid Banerjee, CEO of Clarabridge. “This acquisition is a tremendous opportunity for us to solidify our position in the marketplace as the most comprehensive CEM technology provider, with a platform that operationalizes customer experience insights. Our vision is shaped by our clients, and we’re focused on operationalizing the customer voice through the wide distribution and adoption of intelligence tools.”
</blockquote>
Clarabridge continues to gain and keep the momentum that started with <a href="http://www.clarabridge.com/press/clarabridge-secures-80m-in-new-funding-to-drive-customer-experience-management/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">$80 million in growth funding</a> in late 2013, followed by the 2014 <a href="http://www.clarabridge.com/press/clarabridge-acquires-market-metrix/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">acquisition of survey software provider MarketMetrix</a>. The addition of Engagor’s 360 clients in the enterprise space, including Volvo, Ikea, Pepsi and Nintendo, brings Clarabridge’s base up to more than 800 clients worldwide.
Direct engagement with customers on social channels boosts sales and leads to increased customer loyalty. The Engagor solution acquires and analyzes social data, and provides customer service and marketing staff the ability to interact directly with the customer. The platform also enables customer service teams to manage and monitor individual and team performance. Using the platform, businesses resolve customer complaints and process customer requests.
<blockquote>
“We strongly believe that you have to put the data into the hands of people that can do something with it to truly impact business performance,” said Folke Lemaitre, founder and CEO of Engagor. “I’m excited that we are joining Clarabridge with a shared mission of helping businesses fully understand their customers in order to better serve their needs—creating long-term loyalty and increasing profitability.”
</blockquote>

Clarabridge Acquires Engagor CEM

Every day I get several emails from people and companies looking to find the perfect platform for their needs. While I try to answer as many as I can, sometimes emails get missed or I run out of time to answer them or they get buried in the mass of incoming emails. For this reason, we launched the CMS Critic Forums.
On our forums, you can post your question and either myself, Kaya or one of our readers can provide you with suggestions as to which product you might want to explore further. Obviously for complicated questions, some of these may require a separate consulting engagement but we'll certainly do our best to point you in the right direction or, at the very least, offer some methods to help you get there.
The forums are a great place for you to:
<ul>
<li>Ask questions</li>
<li>Request information on a specific product (How would WordPress work as a realty website?, etc)</li>
<li>Share your successes or failure stories (I tried this CMS and it was great or I tried something and hated it and here's my experience).</li>
</ul>
The benefits to you sharing your experiences with our readers are twofold; if you share a horror story, we might be able to connect you with the right people to resolve your issue or if your story is a successful one, you may inspire someone else with your success.
Either way, please participate and help us grow this community to the best it can be.
