EPiServer, an innovator in multichannel digital marketing and e-commerce software, announced today the availability of EPiServer 7 CMS, the first content management system to allow marketers and editors to create content that works seamlessly across channels. Businesses can ensure that their online presence is optimized for conversions and results by delivering a consistent customer experience across mobile, tablet and desktop screens from one platform. With support for driving relevant traffic from social channels and personalizing the communication based on the customer context, marketers can expect increased results and conversion rates.
<a href="http://episerver.com/Content/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">EPiServer 7 CMS</a> comes at a time when cross-channel engagement is critical for achieving maximum impact with customers, but the technology to seamlessly do so is lacking.  According to the August, 2012 Forrester Research, Inc. report: “Unify The Digital Experience Across Touchpoints” by Stephen Powers, “Pulling content from multiple sources and contextually transforming it to support unified digital experiences will be one of the biggest challenges in this space in the next several years.”
EPiServer 7 CMS allows marketers, who are strategic about their online presence, to create, manage and optimize any number of sites for global or local markets. In addition to speeding up time-to-market through efficient content management, marketers can improve quality control, efficiency and security through an intuitive interface that automatically shows only relevant information for content creators.
Travel group Fritidsresor (TUI Nordic) recently upgraded to EPiServer 7 CMS and found great support for managing their website in an enterprise environment.  “We manage a multichannel enterprise environment, where information management and structure are critical. With EPiServer 7 CMS, it is easier for us to provide a consistent customer experience which ensures impact,” said Maria Alfredéen, IT System Manager TUI Nordic.  “Additionally, EPiServer 7 CMS allows our developers to work faster and more efficiently and reduce our time to market for new innovations, which allows us to stay competitive in the increasingly competitive travel industry.”
“Our customers tell us that it is difficult and time consuming to create great sites that are relevant to the customer and ensure maximum impact across mobile, tablet and desktop as well as the social channel. With EPiServer 7 CMS, your site will look great on any size screen,” says Bob Egner, VP of Product Management at EPiServer. “By giving marketers and content creators the option to update all screens at once and reuse content across the web and social channels, we’ve streamlined the process, making it even easier for companies to create consistent, responsive sites that are customized and optimized based on the customer context.”
With <a href="http://episerver.com/Content/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">EPiServer 7 CMS</a>, marketers and content creators will also have the ability to:
<ul>
<li>Organize, manage and edit all multimedia files from one location.</li>
<li>Scale to enterprise needs and support large volumes of traffic and editors across many sites.</li>
<li>Manage all online activity and meet all security needs, to include protecting customers’ data or financial transactions online.</li>
<li>Easily test, measure and modify content to increase conversions, for a landing page, single campaign, multiple websites or all digital marketing assets.</li>
<li>Personalize website content for each visitor to create unique experiences and improve conversions.</li>
</ul>
EPiServer 7 CMS offers standard connections for leading systems such as Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Dynamics CRM and SalesForce.com.  Beyond standard connectors, the integration platform offers an open and flexible interface that can easily integrate with other systems such as SAP, Oracle, Amadeus, and a variety of other data sources.
With an add-on store that allows site owners to install, upgrade and uninstall add-ons without the need for a developer, EPiServer 7 CMS creates efficiency across the board with unprecedented innovation. More information on EPiServer 7 CMS is <a href="http://episerver.com/Content/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">available here</a>.

We have been fortunate enough to be first to receive a video preview of the features that will be available in Hannon Hill's upcoming Cascade Server 7.2 release. Yesterday, they released  Cascade Server 7.2 beta for those interested in testing.
One of the improvements to the user interface is the ability to drag and drop webpages within the website structure. A user with this ability activated will be able to drag and drop a webpage or other asset into a different folder on their site, and upon doing so, that user will be presented with additional options for renaming and republishing that webpage in its new location.
In addition to drag and drop moving, there are several other user interface features included in the beta release of Cascade Server 7.2, such as automatic saving of drafts in the background of the application, an updated format editing user interface, clickable labels enabling easier selection of options throughout different parts of the system, auto-complete site switching for navigating between sites in Cascade Server, an easy way for administrators to check which effective abilities a user has for a given site, and preview functionality to the format editing interface.
“Improving the user experience in Cascade Server has been our focus for quite some time now,” emphasized Hannon Hill Lead Software Engineer Mike Strauch. “There are few things more frustrating than a powerful piece of software that is difficult to use, which is why I love the improvements we've made to format editing and saving of drafts; things feel much more seamless.”
Check out the video preview to get a first look at the new features:

Content Management vendor Accrisoft has announced the release of Freedom CMS 8.2. Version 8.2 promises several powerful features, including an all-new lead nurturing module , site backup tool enabling simple site copying and migrations, form layouts, global tags and more.
<h2>Lead Nurturing</h2>
The Lead Nurturing module turns your Accrisoft Freedom website into an effective inbound marketing tool that generates leads, provides them with a personalized experience, and tracks them throughout the sales process until they become customers.
This module automatically interacts with leads via email messages, allowing you to scale the lead generation process and focus your sales efforts on high-value prospects.
[[leadnurturing]]
<h2 style="text-align:left">Global tags</h2>
The new Global Tagging feature in Accrisoft Freedom takes the categorization of information and makes it global, freeing it from the confines of a single module: It lets you tag items in a variety of modules, then share these tags across modules.
This makes creating lists of related items possible for modules other than the one you’re displaying an item from, which means, for example, that you could tag a blog entry, and, on the sidebar of that blog, show a list of news articles that are on the same topic.
[[globaltags]]
<h2>Site Backup Tool</h2>
The Site Backup Tool lets you quickly create complete backups of your website, and it keeps them within Freedom where they’re easy to restore. This tool also makes it possible to copy your site onto another Freedom website without any technical expertise. Best of all, the whole thing takes just a couple of minutes.
[[sitebackup]]
<h2>New form layouts</h2>
With version 8.2, Accrisoft Freedom CMS gives you complete control over the output of your forms. This means that you can control exactly what HTML is used for each field. This also means that you can much more easily control the layout of the entire form itself via HTML layouts.

Accrisoft Announces Freedom CMS 8.2

Solodev has changed the CMS landscape by developing an all-in-one content management system that can be used to build and manage native smart phone apps, social media apps and enterprise websites at the same time. Solodev software also makes it possible for users to create and manage dedicated mobile sites, conduct online transactions with an integrated e-commerce engine and increase productivity with B2B tools.
“Our software puts more power in the hands of marketers and allows them to have full control of their organization’s online presence,” said Solodev founder and CTO Shawn Moore. “The addition of smart phone app functionality eliminates the need to learn a separate software system or rely on a developer to edit content after the app is built. There is no other product on the market that gives users control over all online channels the way Solodev does.”
Moore and his programming team recently closed the online channel loop to include all-in-one capability by developing an API layer that taps into the CMS and delivers content to native apps and also social media aware applications. The latter allows organizations to plan and manage their tweets and posts through the same software that powers their other online interactions. It also allows them to automatically customize website content according to a user’s social media footprint.
“Content is at the core of every business and we are continually in search of ways to help our clients deliver that content and engage customers across a growing ecosystem of online channels,” Moore said. “We have built our platform in such a way all channels have access to the same content so there is zero data redundancy. Another key benefit is the integration of our e-commerce platform that allows companies to take advantage of the growing trend of mobile consumerism.”
The all-in-one CMS from Solodev allows users to control an organization’s entire online presence:
<ul>
<li>Easily create and manage native apps, mobile sites and traditional websites</li>
<li>Develop social media aware applications and syndicate content to social streams</li>
<li>Build and manage e-commerce stores</li>
<li>Streamline data management</li>
</ul>
One of the first organizations to benefit from this breakthrough technology is Volusia County, Florida. The county recently released a native app dedicated to its world-class beaches that administrators can manage with the same back-end interface used to control the county’s main website. Lifeguards and other beach safety personnel can update conditions on Daytona Beach and other county beaches remotely with any Internet-enabled device.

Adobe has released an interesting infographic entitled the “Marketing Myth” that highlights some interesting bits of research. One finding I found especially interesting is that 53% of people want a dislike button. This happens to be one of the #1 complaints my father in law, who recently joined Facebook to see pictures of our kids, mentions most often.
In his words:
<blockquote>
“I'm tired of looking at people's food and pictures of their pets on Facebook. Why isn't there a dislike button or a Wilf thinks this is stupid button?”
</blockquote>
Yes, the father in law. A beacon of knowledge and refreshing frankness (ok perhaps not when he's lecturing me about products being made in China, but the rest of the time).
Other results from their research indicate that 69% of respondents use social media, a number that certainly seems to be on the rise while only 29% stated that “Likes” drive them to check out products. Even more disturbing for those that use Facebook as a marketing tool is the fact that only 2% say that these “likes” inspire them to purchase a product.
I'll be honest, I've never been a huge Facebook fan. I personally find the site is too out to make money, especially since they started to charge to expose content to people who've liked your page. This research just makes me more convinced that something needs to change.
Here's a video they produced to share the results of their research into how people view marketing / marketers:
[[infographic-adobe]]
Obviously, Adobe is determined to change this perception and to do that, they've launched a Metrics, Not Myths campaign. Here's a <a href="http://blogs.adobe.com/conversations/2012/10/in-defense-of-marketing.html">link</a> to Adobe's Chief Marketing Officer, Ann Lewnes response to these results.
I find this type of research refreshing personally and think Adobe is on the right track to flag the issues at hand for marketers and give them ways to react accordingly. This amusing video demonstrates exactly what one of the main problems is, a lack of clarity:
[[adobemyth]]
I, for one, find it refreshing that Adobe is poking fun at how some marketers tend to use buzz words and phrases to make points that nobody truly ever really understands. Is that really what we want to achieve as marketers or do we want to transmit a clear message that the consumer understands? I think the latter. What do you think?  <a href="https://www.facebook.com/AdobeMarketingCloud/app_274300696015294">Join the conversation with Adobe</a> on Facebook or via Twitter using hashtag: <a href="http://twitter.com/search?q=%23metricsnotmyths&amp;src=typd">#metricsnotmyths</a>

New Research From Adobe Indicates 53% of People Want a Dislike Button #MetricsNotMyths

Jahia announced today the availability of the new version of its flagship CMS solution: Jahia xCM 6.6.1. Even though digitized as “minor”, this new version unlocks new authoring interfaces, providing major improvements in the areas of mobile rendering and related in-context edition.
<blockquote>
“Talking about mobile rending these days is quite trendy. But we didn’t want our new release to be just about “buzz”. We wanted it to truly help our users, both business and technical, and seamlessly display their chosen content on any mobile devices. And not only to do so with simple clicks and drag &amp; drops, but also with the ability to preview and to add any new mobile devices they’d need. This release has required an intensive work from our development team and an equally intensive back-and-forth with our customers to make sure we did it right. Since our 6.5 platform launch, we’ve been intensively working with our community of developers, partners and customers to raise the bar, release after release, to the highest possible levels in terms of user experience management. This Jahia xCM 6.6.1 release -and its related Jahia Studio, is probably the one that reveals the most that incredible work of our team as well as the efficiency and fantastic potential of our platform.” says Elie Auvray, CEO of Jahia Solutions Group SA.
</blockquote>
Jahia xCM 6.6.1: Mobile unleashed!
With Jahia xCM 6.6.1, User Experience is optimized for any device: mobile, browser, tablets. Jahia introduces a brand new paradigm that allows users to publish their content as easily for a mobile device (both phone and tablet) as they would for a desktop browser.
With simple clicks, authors and web designers will be able to fully manage and personalize both content and user experience per device. Jahia authors will also be able to preview device-based user experience with high definition emulators:
<ul>
<li>Mobile in-context page and template building (Enterprise distribution only)– Thanks to a new channel switcher, Editors and Template developers can now choose to work directly -in Edit Mode or in the Studio – on the desired channel / device as easily as they do with standard web pages.</li>
<li>Multichannel integrated in preview window – A channel / device selection is now available in the Preview window for previewing pages “in device/channel context” before publication.</li>
<li>Multichannel customizable providers (Enterprise distribution only) – The list of channels/devices can be extended at will. For each device/channel, its capabilities can be defined in order to tailor the best customer experience.</li>
<li>Channel fallback mechanism (Enterprise distribution only) – Channels are organized as a tree with an integrated fallback mechanism, so the most relevant rendering will always be served even if the calling device is not explicitly listed and known by the system.</li>
<li>Point and click content assignation to a channel (Enterprise Distribution Only) –  Any content item can be included (forced to be displayed) or excluded (completely removed for the rendering, not only hidden) from a channel with a simple click. This zero-code feature dramatically accelerates customization of multi-devices sites and web applications.</li>
<li>WURFL engine integration (optional) (Enterprise distribution only) – The mobile device capabilities of Jahia 6.6.1 can optionally use WURFL as a provider, an Open Source framework that compiles a huge set of data about each device available on the market.</li>
</ul>
Other major improvements brought by Jahia xCM 6.6.1
<ul>
<li>Jahia xCM 6.6.1 – Raise the business-users-friendly authoring mode to the next level: Based on many feedbacks from customers, the Contribute Mode has been improved. It is now based on GWT, as is the Edit Mode, the other authoring mode available within Jahia xCM for advanced content managers. The contribute mode comes with the same usage principles (double-click, drag and drop…) with the right level of feature set for targeted audience – which has always been the goal of the Simplified, business user friendly “Contribute Mode”.</li>
<li>Enhanced user comfort: the platform strengths and responsiveness have been reinforced for a greater usability and performance. Interactions between users and the platform have been streamlined through an intensive user feedbacks monitoring that resulted in an improved user interface and even greater performance.</li>
<li>Detailed and exhaustive list of Jahia xCM 6.6.1 improvements available <a href="http://click.icptrack.com/icp/relay.php?r=70112415&amp;msgid=247207&amp;act=LMSD&amp;c=870976&amp;destination=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.jahia.com%2Fwhats-new-in-jahia-661" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">here</a></li>

Irish Enterprise Web Content Management provider pTools has today announced the launch of its new Software as a Service (SaaS) Web Content Management (WCM) solution at Europe’s biggest technology conference, the Dublin Web Summit. The new software allows content to be securely distributed to users across desk-top, mobile and tablet devices for web, extranet and intranet from a single secure source, more effectively than has ever before been possible.
pTools SaaS application combines all of the enterprise level features of pTools into a single easy-to-use software service, available for a monthly or annual subscription fee rather than the traditional up-front licensing model. pTools has invested over €1million in re-developing its WCM software for Cloud and SaaS delivery.
The Dublin headquartered software company, pTools, was recently included for the first time in the long-list of vendors in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Web Content Management 2012 report and the company’s commitment to SaaS delivery using the latest cloud computing technologies and infrastructure partners is seen as an important factor in this recognition. Gartner estimates that SaaS revenue for 2012 will reach $14.5 billion in 2012 – a 17.9 percent increase from 2011 – and reach a projected $22.1bn in 2015, with cloud computing driving adoption forward.
Commenting on the launch of pTools SaaS, Keith Wood, CEO of pTools says: “This is a major initiative for pTools and already we are seeing take-up of the new pTools SaaS offering by new and existing customers in all markets. It’s great to be able to launch this in our home city, Dublin, at what is effectively one of the biggest and most dynamic new technology conferences in the world this year.”
Paddy Cosgrove, founder of the Web Summit says “We're delighted that pTools, a fantastic Irish company with business internationally, is using the Web Summit as a platform to launch its new software service. Enterprise and cloud are two very important aspects of the Web Summit this year.”

<ul>
<li>Full-featured enterprise class WCM Software-as-a-Service.</li>

pTools Launches new Software as a Service Web Content Management Solution

Just a few months ago, CMS Critic covered the <a href="https://www.cmscritic.com/demandbase-releases-real-time-visitor-identification-for-drupal-cms/">news</a> of our release of Real-Time Identification for Drupal CMS users. Since then, we’ve opened the API for our platform, giving developers the opportunity to leverage company identification of web visitors – using company IP addresses or networks – and use each company’s set of attributes to serve a more personalized experience. And just last month, we launched Real-Time Identification for CRM at Dreamforce.
Over the last year, our team has been hard at work to release the next phase to our platform. It’s a major piece to our puzzle, this time changing the way business advertisers target and personalize their ads.
Today, we launched <a href="http://www.demandbase.com/what-we-do-and-why/demandbase-company-targeted-advertising">Demandbase Company-Targeted Advertising</a>, and for the first time, advertisers have the ability to target specific companies only, and through this technology, they can follow that customer from the ad to the web site and through the CRM system – through the entire campaign, with no cookies.
We saw an opportunity in the B2B advertising market when we saw marketers struggle with campaigns with little results. In fact, some companies are wasting more than 90 percent of their ad budget to attract businesses to their website. B2B sales teams are usually only targeting a few thousand companies, yet there are tens of millions of them out there. So we came up with a brand new approach, giving B2B advertisers the opportunity to run efficient, zero-waste campaigns.
By uniquely identifying companies on a website – on the first visit and without a cookie – we qualify the visitors and when applicable, they are served the targeted ads. This is what makes the Demandbase Company-Targeted Advertising solution so unique. You can serve ads to your targets on their FIRST visit to a target site while making them personal and more relevant.
So here’s how it works. We ask our customers to send us a list of companies, or a set of attributes about a company that would be a good target for them. For instance, they can target Fortune 1000 companies, or select businesses by industry size, revenue, exact company name, or a number of attributes. This is a critical step in ensuring that Company-Targeted Advertising produces zero-waste campaigns. From there, we get the customer’s creative, or if they don’t have one yet, we can work with them to create ads in house here at Demandbase. Then we work with ad exchanges to make sure that client ads are personalized and served to the companies on the target list. No more effort, time and money wasted on focusing ads where they don’t belong – in front of companies that aren’t on your target list or match up to the attributes you were looking for in a company.
Metrics like impressions, clicks and CPL, still apply, but also companies can now connect your ad spend to overall target company engagement. With our solution, customers know their targets, so they are able to engage accounts that were not responding to other marketing tactics, as well as accelerate the buyer’s journey for those already engaged.
A few large enterprise companies have been testing this with us, and they’re targeting and personalizing online ads to specific account lists to drive higher website engagement. While our customers are still underway on their campaigns (and not yet ready to share those results but will soon!) we know they’re seeing more brand awareness, sales leads and revenue from these targeted companies. Imagine the impact it could have on your marketing efforts… what would you do differently?

A New Zero-Waste Approach to Company Advertising

Telerik today announced the availability of Sitefinity 5.2, the latest release of the company’s leading web content management platform. With this release, Telerik offers web developers and designers the ability to target different audiences through personalization and multi-site management, equipping organizations with the tools needed to run effective websites.
<blockquote>
“Online audiences increasingly expect brands to recognize their unique interests and deliver web experiences focused on their personal goals,” said Martin Kirov, executive vice president, Sitefinity. “In some cases these targeted experiences are managed through different brands and separate websites. However, in other cases a single website must engage with a variety of audiences. In both examples, it is important to deliver the right message to the right person, and reuse resources where appropriate. With Sitefinity 5.2, enterprises can deliver a unique user experience, while minimizing the complexity associated with maintaining different content experiences.”
</blockquote>
Personalization According to Gartner, those in pursuit of online channel optimization should, “adopt optimization technologies aggressively, especially testing, navigation improvements and high-level personalizations/contextualizations.” At the same time, personalization often is an underutilized resource due to its complex nature.
Sitefinity 5.2 strategically targets the three complications with personalization adoption:

Many CMS vendors only enable trivial changes to web content, such as banner ads. However, Sitefinity enables content creators to reshape the entire page and offers a rich language for describing audiences and impersonating each audience’s unique user experience.
Multi-Site Management
Multi-site management is rooted in resource reuse. However, the resources that get reused can vary dramatically – users, templates, content, infrastructure, tools and more. Without multi-site management, these resources would need to be manually copied and synchronized across sites.
With Sitefinity’s multi-site management capabilities, organizations can:
<ul>
<li>Create multiple web sites within a single instance of Sitefinity</li>
<li>Implement controlled permissions for site and resource access</li>
<li>Engage in a variety of resource sharing options</li>
<li>Easily toggle between sites</li>
</ul>
Permissions are attached to everything and through these permissions administrators control exactly what gets shared and with whom. For the individual content author, the interface is shaped based on their permissions. This enables Sitefinity to address a wide range of scenarios while minimizing UI complications.
Sitefinity also helps organizations manage the complexity associated with maintaining different experiences for different audiences by enabling the ability to reuse content and test the resulting experiences. The result is a higher adoption of personalization capabilities for a better overall customer experience.

Sitefinity 5.2 Delivers Targeted and Personalized Experiences

This is the last day of nominations for the <a href="https://www.cmscritic.com/cms-critic-awards/">Critic's Choice CMS Awards</a>. As of this morning, we've had over 1,000 nominations, some of which have been quite surprising and amazingly, the big three do not have much of a presence in the nominations at this time (Drupal, Joomla, WordPress). It's great to see so many different projects being submitted for consideration.
Voting opens at 8:00 am MT tomorrow so check back to see if the project you nominated has been shortlisted. Voting will continue until November 12th, 2012 at which point, we'll have two sets of awards: People's Choice (based on # of votes) and Critic's Choice (based on judges decisions).
So <a href="https://www.cmscritic.com/cms-critic-awards/">get your nominations in</a> and check back tomorrow morning to find out who was shortlisted. Nominations close at 3:00 PM MT today.
