The fourth and (hopefully) final release candidate of Drupal 7 is now available for testing.
The Drupal team have announced a tentative release date of January 5th for final release of Drupal 7, so please get testing and make this final version the best it can be.

Since the last release candidate a week ago, we have fixed numerous bugs, including bugs with PostgreSQL and a critical issue with the password upgrade path which corrupts password hashes. Affected sites' users will need to reset passwords after their second log-in. Sorry about that!

Drupal 7.0 RC 4 Released

Some updates from the Geeklog universe:
Geeklog 1.7.1sr1 addresses an XSS in the Configuration admin panel, reported by Aung Khant of the YGN Ethical Hacker Group. Due to the built-in CSRF protection this weakness is somewhat harder to exploit but we would nonetheless advise that you secure your site by installing this update ASAP.
In addition to the <a href="http://www.geeklog.net/filemgmt/index.php/1044">complete 1.7.1sr1 tarball</a>, there are also update files <a href="http://www.geeklog.net/filemgmt/index.php/1043">for Geeklog 1.7.1</a> and <a href="http://www.geeklog.net/filemgmt/index.php/1042">for Geeklog 1.6.1sr1</a> that contain only a fixed version of the affected file (see the included README file for installation instructions).
Users of older Geeklog releases should consider upgrading to Geeklog 1.7.1sr1 soon (use the complete 1.7.1sr1 tarball to upgrade from any older version).
A note for those who are still running on PHP 4: There's a <a href="http://project.geeklog.net/tracking/view.php?id=1239">known bug</a> in the Static Pages plugin in Geeklog 1.7.1 that makes it incompatible with PHP 4. We will address this issue in <a href="http://www.geeklog.net/article.php/end-of-php4-support#releases">a future bugfix</a> update. In the meantime, consider upgrading to Geeklog 1.6.1sr2 – or upgrade to PHP 5, if possible.

Geeklog 1.7.1sr1 is now available

The first release candidate (RC1) for WordPress 3.1 is now available.
An RC comes after the beta period and before final release. There are currently no known issues or bugs to squash. But with tens of millions of users, a variety of configurations, and thousands of plugins, it’s possible something has been missed. So if you haven’t tested WordPress 3.1 yet, now is the time! Please though, not on your live site unless you’re extra adventurous.
Things to keep in mind:
<ul>
<li>With nearly 700 tickets closed, there are tons of changes. Plugin and theme authors, please test your plugins and themes now, so that if there is a compatibility issue, they can figure it out before the final release.</li>
<li>Users are also encouraged to test things out. If you find problems, let your plugin/theme authors know so they can figure out the cause.</li>
<li>If any known issues crop up, you’ll be able to <a href="http://core.trac.wordpress.org/report/5" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">find them here</a>.</li>

Tiki Spreadsheets (a wiki-based spreadsheet solution) have undergone dramatic improvements since first being introduced in Tiki Wik CMS Groupware 1.9 in 2004. Tiki 6.1 (released December 2010) introduced a host of improvements to the feature, including:

<li>Ability to fully use Tiki's wiki syntax within sheets</li>
<li>Advanced math functions</li>
<li>Full cell and sheet formatting, including charts</li>
<li>Integrate the data from a spreadsheet with a wiki page (via the Sheet plugin)</li>
<li>Review/compare version history of sheets</li>
<li>Copy and paste from MS-Excel and OO-Calc</li>
</ul>

Tiki Sheets uses jQuery (jquery.sheet) for integration and Ajax for a smooth user interface. Look for additional improvements in Tiki 7 (scheduled for April, 2011) including a new calculation engine, tighter integration with Tiki trackers, and real-time collaborative features.
