A translation sprint in February followed by two consecutive weeks of TikiFests and industry conferences in March present the perfect opportunity to learn more about Tiki and become more involved with the Tiki Community.

The Spring Tiki Tour then continues with TikiFest ConFoo in Montréal, Canada, March 4-8. Work is expected to focus primarily on continued integration with BigBlueButton. See http://tiki.org/TikiFestConfoo2011 for details.
ConFoo.ca immediately follows from March 9-11, also in Montréal. This is the second edition of the ))ConFoo(( conference and includes experts in Java, .Net, PHP, Python and Ruby will present solutions for developers and project managers. Tiki Community member Marc Laporte will be speaking about Tiki Suite: Tiki's integration with other open source applications, such as BigBlueButton, Kaltura, Clipperz, and many others.
The tour then heads across the border to participate in Recent Changes Camp 2011 in Boston, Massachusetts. This Open Space Technology format unconference focuses on wikis and collaborative practices and runs March 11-13. Several key Tiki Community members plan to attend the event.
TikiFest Boston, March 14-18, marks the end of this Spring tour. This will be the last major gathering before the release of Tiki 7 (planned for April 2011). Work will primarily entail release preparations, but the TikiFesters will also look at long-term work including the move to Smarty 3 and major rework and improvements to Tiki Trackers. The Cross-border Spring Tiki Tour

A new release of WordPress became available last night. WordPress 3.0.5 has been made available to the public.
The release addresses a number of issues and provides two additional enhancements:
<ul>
<li>Two moderate security issues were fixed that could have allowed a Contributor- or Author-level user to gain further access to the site.</li>
<li>One information disclosure issue was addressed that could have allowed an Author-level user to view contents of posts they should not be able to see, such as draft or private posts.</li>
<li>Two security enhancements were added. One improved the security of any plugins which were not properly leveraging our security API. The other offers additional defense in depth against a vulnerability that was fixed in previous release.</li>

Asbru Web Content Management v7.3.4 released

A new release of mojoPortal has been made available. From the release announcement:
This is a minor release with just a few bug fixes, the primary purpose of this release is to fix a problem in our Shared Files feature and in our alternate File Manager when running under Medium Trust hosting. In the previous release of version 2.3.6.1 we had changed to strong name signed assemblies for NeatUpload and for the NeatUpload Greybox Progress bar.
This strong signed version of NeatUpload allows it to be installed in the GAC (Global Assembly Cache) on the server so it can work in Medium Trust, but there was a bug in the previous release because the NeatUpload.GreyboxProgressBar.dll was not compiled with the AllowPartiallyTrustedCallers attribute so it caused an error under Medium Trust. This release addresses that problem, it just required adding the needed attribute and re-compiling the NeatUpload.GreyboxProgressBar.dll. Since most shared hosting uses Medium Trust we felt it important to get a fix out for this quickly.

mojoPortal 2.3.6.2 Released

The development team at SilverStripe have two new releases to announce. Released on the 1st of this month, versions 2.4.5 and 2.3.11 promise to include a number of fixes to the popular content management system.
<h3>Fixes in 2.4.5</h3>
<ul>
<li>Fixed issue in CMS where rolling back to an earlier revision of a page would produce an error (fixed in 2.3.11 as well).</li>
<li>Fixed issue where posting a page comment could post to the wrong page.</li>
<li>Fixed issue where documents and images with uppercase extensions were not accessible.</li>
<li>Fixed issue with “RandomGenerator” causing an error with some restrictive shared hosting environments.</li>

1024cms is a powerful Open Source Content Management System (CMS) written in PHP and is suitable for many types of website development.
1024cms is designed to run on a Linux web server, running Apache, PHP and SQL. Other platforms and databases (eg Oracle) are also supported but not tested and you can do the test your self and share with our community.

Brand new 1024CMS release

SourceForge.net has been recovering from an attack which they discovered on Wednesday of last week. The attack consisted of a root privilege escalation on one of their platforms which permitted exposure of credentials that were then used to access machines with externally-facing SSH.
As a result of the attack and to prevent further damage, the SourceForge team locked down some of the impacted hosts which in turn, resulted in service downtime for:

<li>CVS Hosting</li>
<li>ViewVC</li>
<li>New Release upload capability</li>
<li>ProjectWeb/shell</li>
</ul>
As part of the recovery process, they have begun to to data validation as outlined below:

It’s better to be safe than sorry, so we’ve decided to perform a comprehensive validation of project data from file releases, to SCM commits. We will compare data agains pre-attack backups, and will identify changed and added. We will review that data, and will will also refer anything suspicious to individual project teams for further assessment as needed.
The validation work is a precaution, because while we don’t have evidence of any data tampering, we’d much prefer to burn a bunch of CPU cycles verifying everything than to discover later that some extra special trickery lead to some undetected badness
