ScribbleLive today launched the latest version of its live content management system (CMS) to help journalists spread news in real time. Social media services deliver information at a rapid pace. ScribbleLive enables media companies to harness the immediacy of these technologies while maintaining the control required in the newsroom to cover developing news events in a new style that meets the needs of its audience – fast, engaging and collaborative.
ScribbleLive is a comprehensive live CMS platform that enables media companies and large organizations such as Reuters and Hearst Television, to report on developing news stories like natural disasters, sporting events and election results in an entirely new way online. Journalists can now report story elements from e-mail, SMS, Twitter, voice call or the ScribbleLive web interface – whether in the newsroom or out in the field. The result is dynamic content that provides real-time updates, including multimedia, to readers as the event unfolds.
The event pages reside on ScribbleLive’s servers, but otherwise maintain a seamless appearance with the organization’s existing website – to both visitors and search engines. After the event, the searchable webpages remain, so readers can look back on the way the story unfolded – a unique opportunity to see a “rough draft” of history as it was first written.
“People want news delivered quickly – They are turning to social media sites such as Twitter to access breaking information, rather than waiting for news outlets to push stories through editorial review,” said Michael De Monte, co-founder and chief executive officer, ScribbleLive. “ScribbleLive changes the traditional linear flow of the newsroom to a more dynamic, collaborative process that empowers real-time reporting and audience engagement while ensuring editorial control and journalistic integrity. With our tool, journalists are able to tell stories in a completely new way.”
This latest version of ScribbleLive offers powerful new features that:
•	Let journalists leverage mobile devices to create stories in the field via enhanced publishing capabilities through SMS and voicemail, as well as mobile apps for iPhone and BlackBerry •	Better harness information from Twitter with advanced filters •	Employ SSL to improve data protection •	Allow syndication of posts to multiple web properties •	Lay the groundwork for a revolutionary new way of telling stories and engaging with readers online
A number of media outlets already rely on ScribbleLive. Global News, the online news arm of Canwest’s Global Television Network, used ScribbleLive to cover the G20 Summit that was recently held in Toronto. Highlights of the summit coverage included:
•	Reader-submitted protestor photos •	A dramatic audio report on rioting in the streets •	Videos of police creating barricades •	Text updates from around the summit
“Globalnews.ca’s live coverage of the G20 broke historic new ground for storytelling in broadcast and online journalism,” said David Skok, managing editor for Globalnews.ca. “ScribbleLive gave us the opportunity to showcase the depth of our talented reporting teams in real-time using multimedia via one-touch reporting. We have realized our vision of unifying the digital and traditional broadcast newsrooms, thanks to ScribbleLive.”
The Score, the broadcaster that delivers interactive sports reporting online and via the popular ScoreMobile iPhone app, uses the ScribbleLive platform to report real-time scores for the more than 300 sports teams it covers while empowering superfans to become the play-by-play commentators.
“ScribbleLive has truly helped us enhance our product. For our mobile sports app, live blogs have been a crucial differentiator. Sports fans love the immediacy of the blogger’s game description and appreciate being able to submit their comments. ScribbleLive’s system is fast and reliable, and they’ve made it remarkably easy to fully embed in our offering,” said Dale Fallon, director of mobile, Score Media.
ScribbleLive works in concert with existing CMS platforms. It is offered as software-as-a-service. The new version is available now. Pricing depends on the desired plan. Contact info@scribblelive.com for sales information.

A serious vulnerability was found in Microsoft's ASP .Net web development framework that is described as follows:
<blockquote>
in Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 and above, this vulnerability can be used by an attacker to retrieve the contents of any file within the ASP.NET application, including web.config”  and that “this vulnerability can also be used for data tampering, which, if successfully exploited, could be used to decrypt and tamper with the data encrypted by the server
</blockquote>
Being that the severity of this patch is too high to allow them to wait until their next cycled patch release, they instead chose to release the following emergency fix: <a href="http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/MS10-070.mspx">http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/MS10-070.mspx</a>.
All users who are affected are strongly encouraged to patch immediately to avoid potential issues.

TYPO3 CMS version 4.5 with Long Term Support available

appRain is a Opensource Content Management Framework (CMF). CMF is a new web engineering concept where “CMS (Content Management System)” and “Framework” perform together to produce endless varieties of output in a very limited time.
Official Website: <a href="http://www.apprain.com">www.apprain.com</a>
appRain, published with lots of extensive features to reduce our development work time. It satisfies both Client and Developers with a safe and quality output.
So what actually it do?

It really a big question when any new tool introduce in community. CMS and Framework are very popular and stable terms in this generation. That support us to meet our requirements have two different type of functionalities. Both this two tools offer different modularized facilities to get your work done. But CMS always fix a client withing graphical interface so, Some time it become difficult to have little extra features that actually that system does not support. At that moment we generally get rush to find our any extension of that specific CMS that almost smiler to to our requirements or try to develop a bridge with another CMS that actually have that facilities. For example Integrate an e commerce script with an Article management system.
Another scenario is little bit better when we use Framework. It can open your edge of development so you can develop all modules as you like. But all tools integrated with Framework is core programming oriented. So you have to develop each section by yourself no matter you are developing a 5 page website or a complex application. You have to re-develop so many module that you do in each project or sometime we copy a part from other project to quick development but again wast time in garbage cleaning.
appRain generate it's concept from all these frustration and after a years of experience. Here we have a part that we call CMS with rapid development tools base on XML definitions and EAV model that will save your time and second part is Framework that is a strong tool based on MVC, Single Tone, Factory and lots of other popular patterns. Developer will complete the work with the help of both tool so your application will not stack any more.
appRain also extend about and plug able with other application in a very easy way and lots libray and extension will reduce your tension. Beside these, we are waiting for you to reply your answer, just post your query in ticket section.

Following the release of new CMS connectors, EntropySoft, a specialist of content integration, released its Content Hub Appliance. Content Hub Appliance is a single platform that provides out-of-the-box connectivity for over 30 applications and comes with the ability to easily transfer documents.
In only a few clicks, an administrator can connect the organization’s document repositories to Content Hub Appliance. The repositories become available to all applications consuming or producing information in the company. This is done in a matter of hours. Content Hub Appliance provides a single point of access to all the connected repositories through the EntropySoft Web Services, CMIS (Web Services and REST implementations), Java, java remote and .Net.
Besides this single point of access, all companies using Content Hub Appliance are saving money thanks to the fact that all connectivity is now shared between applications.
Furthermore, for the past five years, by working with large corporate clients, EntropySoft has developed two domains of expertise that it is ready to share. The first expertise domain is to connect any document management system to any archiving platform; the second one is to synchronize two document repositories. Thanks to content transfer bridge templates that can be provided by EntropySoft, it is now a question of hours to be ready to synchronize two silos or connect applications to an archiving platform.
The virtual appliance can be downloaded from EntropySoft’s support site. It only takes minimal installation and configuration for the virtual machine to be ready to start operating in the customer environment. In a matter of hours, the single point of access is deployed and made-to-measure content transfer bridges can be uploaded to enable document transfers and repository synchronization..
“Large organizations use EntropySoft Content ETL in their environments to manage advanced document transfers. Software vendors use EntropySoft connectors to simplify information access. With Content Hub Appliance, EntropySoft is bringing content integration to a large audience” said Nicolas Maquaire, EntropySoft CEO. “Companies of all sizes will now be able to synchronize silos easily and also archive all documents coming from over 30 different content repositories in a matter of hours.”
The single access point and ability to easily transfer documents are offered by EntropySoft on a monthly subscription basis and a pay-as-you-use model that includes content transfer, archive to and synchronization.
EntropySoft Content Hub Appliance offers a global access to information to your line-of-business applications and shares all your connectivity in one spot. Content Hub Appliance comes with 40 connectors under the hood.

Mediaspectrum, Inc.® today introduced Adrenalin, the first complete solution for publishers seeking to create a customized news-reading application for Apple’s iPad and other tablet devices. Adrenalin powers the three pillars of every digital news organization—dynamic content, integrated advertising, and subscription management—and offers publishers a low-risk, low-cost opportunity to establish a powerful presence in the rapidly growing media tablet market.
Now is the time for publishers to position themselves for the future. According to a recent report from International Data Corporation (IDC), worldwide media tablet shipments will jump from 7.6 million units in 2010 to over 46 million units in 2014. This explosive growth will transform the way consumers read and obtain news—and create an entirely new revenue channel for savvy news providers.
Adrenalin enables publishers to quickly and easily enter the media tablet market.
In just a few simple steps, publishers can create a branded iPad application that includes a customized icon, splash screen, and logo. Publisher-selected fonts, colors, and content categories further enhance the application’s distinct look and feel.
Content (including stories, photos, and videos) is managed by Adrenalin CMS, an advanced content management system fed directly from the publisher using XML/RSS feeds. Once a consumer has downloaded the publisher’s app from iTunes, Adrenalin CMS dynamically updates the content based on parameters established—and easily maintained—by the publisher, such as content duration, order of appearance, and more. The Adrenalin News Reader application continuously refreshes content when users are online. For offline use, Adrenalin automatically stores the most recent version for continued access.
As an added option, Adrenalin can also recreate the exact look and feel of print publications with its Replica+ News Reader. Publishers first create the basics of a branded iPad application (icon, splash screen, and logo), then use the Adrenalin system to deliver an exact digital recreation of their print title for iPad readers. Publishers can enhance these digital replicas with additional content, including photos, video, or even video advertising. Using the Replica+ news reader, publishers can quickly and easily grow print subscriptions and upsell digital inventory in the process.
Adrenalin features a fully integrated advertising engine.
Unlike all other iPad applications, Adrenalin features an integrated ad sales system that allows advertisers, agencies, and internal sales teams to directly schedule, target, and manage ad delivery. Ads can be assigned to a single application, selected to run across the entire Adrenalin network of publishers, or targeted to reach a specific group of consumers.
Accessing the ad sales portal is easy, either directly from the publisher’s iPad application or through any standard Web browser. Advertisers achieve increased exposure with less effort. Publishers gain a new revenue stream with larger buys and less unsold inventory—all with little to no additional investment in sales.
Adrenalin offers built-in digital subscription management.
Rather than charge users a one-time fee to download their app, Adrenalin publishers can instead offer digital content subscriptions from within the app itself. Readers download the app for free. Publishers present them with customized subscription packages tailored to meet their needs. By taking advantage of this functionality, publishers develop a recurring revenue stream while capturing critical data about their subscribers.
“As the transition from traditional computing to tablet and mobile devices continues to evolve, publishers are given the rare opportunity to reinvent their businesses,” said Scott Killoh, CEO at Mediaspectrum. “To succeed, these companies must build their mobile strategies on a platform that can handle it all. Adrenalin is that platform, custom-built from fully developed Mediaspectrum technology that is already powering the world’s largest and most demanding media operations. We’ve been doing this successfully for years – Adrenalin is a natural extension that taps into the growth and revenue these new mobile devices promise for publishers and advertisers alike.”
Key components of the new Adrenalin platform:
• Adrenalin News Reader: A full-featured news reader application for the iPad uniquely branded by the publisher. The Adrenalin News Reader allows media companies to deliver consumers an elegant, customized news experience with rich interactive content, including stories, photos, and videos. Content is updated continuously throughout the day. “Breaking News” alerts keep readers abreast of the latest information. Offline users retain access to the most recently updated content.
• Adrenalin Replica+ News Reader: A uniquely branded news reader application for the iPad that delivers an exact digital recreation of a publisher’s print title. Additional photos, videos, and video ads enhance the reader experience. Publishers can claim Replica+ readers as part of their print circulation, increasing this crucial metric and the advertising rates that accompany it.
• Adrenalin CMS: A powerful content management system that provides publishers a world-class interface to create, manage, and assign content; upload and assign photos and videos for distribution; and develop a comprehensive content database. Adrenalin CMS imports content directly from publishers through a simple XML/RSS feed. Once content enters the system, Adrenalin CMS makes it instantly available to the publisher’s uniquely branded iPad application.
• Adrenalin Advertising: The industry’s only integrated advertising engine for mobile news readers that handles both online and offline ad delivery. The Adrenalin Advertising platform allows advertisers, agencies, and consumers to easily schedule, target, and manage advertisements within the publisher’s iPad application or across the entire Adrenalin network of publishers. Adrenalin’s self-service ad sales interface also empowers consumers to instantly become advertisers. Detailed campaign reports (including clicks, impressions, and engagement) provide insights that help measure the success of each campaign.
• Adrenalin Digital Subscriptions: A built-in subscription management system that allows publishers to sell customized subscription packages from within the News Reader application. Adrenalin Digital Subscriptions allows publishers to develop a recurring revenue stream while capturing critical data on their subscribers.
Pricing for the Adrenalin platform varies based on the components selected. It can start as low as zero, with Mediaspectrum charging a small percentage for revenue it helps facilitate.
The solution makes its debut today at DEMO Fall 2010 in Silicon Valley, where Mediaspectrum was hand-selected to formally introduce Adrenalin to the marketplace. Mediaspectrum will also host an Adrenalin Webinar on September 23rd at 2pm ET to introduce the platform to interested publishers. To sign up, please send an email to info@mediaspectrum.net.

Mediaspectrum launches revolutionary iPad Platform for Publishers

Six Apart, the company responsible for the producing the once popular Movable Type, has been acquired by advertising network, <a href="http://www.videoegg.com">Video Egg</a>.  Six Apart has continued to produce Movable Type over the years but has lost an enormous chunk of it's once strong hold of the blogging/content management market. Most of this due to the introduction of WordPress.
The final straw for Six Apart and <a href="http://www.movabletype.com">Movable Type</a> in my mind came with the introduction of Movable Type 5.. a product that basically took what was good about Movable Type and threw it out the window in a weak attempt to redesign their product and give it a similar look and feel to rival WordPress.
It's been obvious for some time that even the developers of Movable Type were displeased with the 5.0 product line and to prove their displeasure (whether they openly say so or not) they launched <a href="http://openmelody.org/">Melody</a> which is based on MT4.
There is no real mention of the future of Movable Type, they have been careful not to say one way or the other what will happen but considering their lack of interest in the MT product and their huge focus on the media end of their business, I think it best to recommend that if you are on the MT platform, you jump ship while you can.
Not all will agree with me on this one and I'm sure some will be upset but I think one must be realistic in this type of circumstance.
You can read what Six Apart has to say about this here: <a href="http://www.sixapart.com/blog/">http://www.sixapart.com/blog/</a>
It's great for Six Apart that now they have a chance to build upon their media business but I feel it should also be a major concern for those using their publishing platforms.
Disagree? Let me know in the comments.
