A security issue was introduced with phpBB 3.07 which allowed users to bypass permission settings if any of the following conditions were met:
<ul>
<li>Feeds are enabled</li>
<li>Any of the posts or topics feeds are enabled</li>
<li>The unauthorised user – or one of the groups they are a member of – have forum permissions set on a private forum</li>
<li>If you have excluded a forum from the list of forums that provide feeds, it is unaffected</li>
</ul>

phpBB gets update to counter security hole caused by introduction of feeds

A new release candidate of SMF 2.0 is now available for testing. This is the 3rd release candidate for what will soon become Simple Machines Forum 2.0.
Highlights of this release include:

Simple Machines Forum 2.0 RC3 Available

Two new releases of Drupal are available for download. Version 6.16 and 5.22 can be attained from the Drupal.org website.

Drupal CMS versions 6.16 and 5.22 are now available

Generis has released version 3 of its <a href="http://www.generiscorp.com/cara.html">CARA</a> product – the world's full functionality document management web application that provides a single interface to all CMIS-compliant repositories. Generis has released CARA3 for Documentum, SharePoint and Alfresco, with releases for the file system, FileNet and LiveLink in the coming months. CARA3 connects to the repositories using the very latest CMIS (Content Management Interoperability Services) functionality agreed by the major content management vendors which allows building of a common set of functionality to be used on the multiple repositories. The XOOPS Projects has released Alpha 2 of its upcoming XOOPS 2.5.0 release.
This new release a major redesign of the Administration module which has been AJAX-ed with jQuery. Some of the new features are breaking a new ground for XOOPS, like the visual placement of blocks, and we're sure that the users will love them. The 2.5.0 release will be definitely the most innovative XOOPS release in years.

Some of the major improvements/additions include new Help System for Admin and modules, MySQL Dump function, Tables Maintenance and Cache Clean-up in Maintenance, new Redirect messaging system, and Column sorting in tables.
The focus on improved usability resulted in more visual administration using drag &amp; drop, among them module ordering and block placement, and direct access to files for editing and folder management via a new File Manager.

XOOPS 2.5 Alpha 2 Released

Latest Site Executive release adds support for Adobe ColdFusion 9 and Android-based Smart Phones

According to a recent post on the Exponent CMS website, a large number of websites running Exponent CMS have been successfully attacked by hackers.
From the post:
The type of hack and process for execution has been identified. With the combination of some clever SQL passed through via url to certain Exponent Modules lacking proper request value sanitation, the hackers were able to pull up information from the user table. The password for Exponent users are converted to an MD5 hash before being saved to the database, but if the password isn't strong enough, the hackers were able to easily take the MD5 hash to any number of websites that will <a href="http://www.google.com/search?q=reverse+md5&amp;ie=utf-8&amp;oe=utf-8&amp;aq=t&amp;rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&amp;client=firefox-a" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">reverse the md5 hash</a>, giving the hacker's the access they need to mess with an exponent site to their liking.

eZ Systems today announced the availability of a beta version of eZ Publish 4.3, the forthcoming new version of its flagship software.

Moving from alpha to beta, this new pre-version of eZ Publish is making one step further towards the final release expected on March 30th.
This new version of eZ Publish provides a wide range of improvements in various fields. eZ Publish CMS version 4.3 beta has been released

The second alpha of the upcoming <a href="https://www.cmscritic.com/tag/drupal">Drupal</a> 7 release has been made available.

Our first Drupal 7 alpha version was released just over a month ago. Today, we're proud to announce the release of the second alpha version of Drupal 7.x for your further testing and feedback. <a href="http://drupal.org/drupal-7.0-alpha1">The first alpha announcement</a> provided a comprehensive list of improvements made since Drupal 6.x, so in this announcement we'll concentrate on how you can help ensure that Drupal 7 is released as soon as possible and is as rock solid as the previous Drupal releases that you've grown to love!
The most notable change for developers is moving <code>$form['#field']</code> to <code>$form_state</code>. This makes field forms more resilient to form_alters and debugging became a lot less tedious. Comment body became a field and new fields can be added to comments through the field UI module. And congratulations to the docs team and associated helpers for their outstanding work in enhancing and correcting lots of API documentation this release.
We've also fixed a number of issues since the previous alpha, most importantly one that caused all files to be deleted after six hours.
