The average consumer spent 66 minutes a week looking at out of home signage in 2016<a href="https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/#m_-4980240669612631850__edn1" name="m_-4980240669612631850__ednref1">[i]</a>. In such a busy market place businesses need to ensure their use of signage is consistent and clear to truly be noticed and engage with their audiences. To address this, RMG Networks has today announced the launch of its powerful new Content Management System (CMS), Korbyt.
This leading platform is the first of its kind to enable organisations to communicate to multiple users on various different formats from one single platform, whether it’s to large AV LED displays, regular screens, desktop computers or mobile devices. Supported by the most popular web technologies, including HTML5 and CSS, and able to run on any JavaScript based technology, Korbyt can be integrated into any IT infrastructure. With a mobile application available on both iOS and Android mobile operating systems, administrators can target and reach their audience wherever they are, regardless of device.
Korbyt can be used across a broad and diverse range of sectors, and is particularly relevant to the internal communications, retail and hospitality industries. Its ability to deliver one piece of content to a business’s many users with consistent messaging makes it an invaluable communications tool.
The platform is flexible enough though to be tailored to individual users, making it ideal for delivering personal messages; whether that’s a bolt-on promotion to a retail customer for a recent purchase, a tailored message about performance to an employee, or news about what is available to a hotel visitor. The fact that the platform has a WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) interface, it’s easy to see how content will appear to audiences. Users can then gain insights into how people have engaged with the content based on metadata and analytics and use that insight to target content most effectively in the future.
The scalability and flexibility of Korbyt means that it can be used effectively by all sizes of organisations needing to communicate and engage with an audience. Customers can use the platform on premise or from the Cloud, suiting the needs of SMEs up to multi-destination international businesses.
Speaking about the launch, Robert Michelson, President and Chief Executive Officer of RMG says “We are very proud of the work we have done to bring Korbyt to our customers. This launch marks a genuine step forward when it comes to managing a digital signage network and we believe Korbyt is the leading visual CMS platform on the market today. The digital signage industry is evolving rapidly, and leading technology packages such as Korbyt provide organisations with a means to speak to their audiences clearly. We’re confident that Korbyt will prove to be invaluable to organisations”.

<a href="http://www.sonicfoundry.com/">Sonic Foundry, Inc.</a> today announced advanced integration services for the Mediasite webcasting and video content management platform. The announcement comes in direct response to clients increasingly seeking deeper levels of integration services to support a wide-ranging number of enterprise applications and databases.
Sonic Foundry has provided integration and interface connectivity for almost a decade, including out of the box integration with authentication providers such as LDAP and Active Directory; modules and code samples for room control systems from AMX, Crestron and other serial control systems; videoconferencing systems from Polycom and TANDBERG/Cisco; and integration with learning management systems from Blackboard and Moodle. Advanced integration has also been available programmatically via the Mediasite EDAS (External Data Access Service) API.
However, many organizations do not have the internal expertise or resources available to take full advantage of the continuously evolving Mediasite integration capabilities while keeping pace with the proliferation of ever more complex technology platforms. Mediasite capabilities that can now be accessed via API include automated scheduling, custom registration, ecommerce, student information systems (SIS) and advanced analytics. Sonic Foundry's new level of integration services can also create customized, sophisticated interfaces to training portals, enterprise content and course management systems, rapidly scaling lecture capture and streaming video adoption across the enterprise.
<blockquote>
“We conduct onsite land management certification courses for non-students every six weeks, but we're seeing an increased demand from our customer base to provide an online training module. Sonic Foundry will custom-develop an e-commerce module that will allow us to set up an online store with all of the recorded sessions. The land management students will be able to login, purchase the sessions and view the classes online,” said Chuck Miller, director of technology for Texas Christian University, Neeley School of Business. “The team at Sonic Foundry has been very helpful and is helping us to meet a demand from our customers that we couldn't meet otherwise.”
</blockquote>
Staff working on advanced integration services will deploy custom solutions for individual clients, and also contribute packaged integrations back to the Mediasite user group to help reduce the integration backlog faced by many enterprise and education organizations.
<blockquote>
“We look forward to providing a new level of interoperability between Mediasite and the legacy systems prevalent among many of our enterprise clients, as well as new tools emerging daily,” said Rob Lipps, executive vice president of Sonic Foundry. “By integrating these now disparate systems and applications, Sonic Foundry helps organizations like TCU further leverage their existing infrastructure to more quickly realize the value of video-based instruction and online training through Mediasite.”
</blockquote>
The patented Mediasite webcasting and video content management system quickly and cost-effectively automates the capture, management, delivery and search of live and on-demand streaming videos and rich media presentations that combine video with high-resolution image content.

In both small and large organizations, Sales and Marketing functions are interconnected. These two teams have never been more entwined than they are today. As the majority of Marketing efforts goes digital the ability to generate and qualify leads and pass information rich prospects to Sales means a shortened Sales cycle and more Sales. Creating an efficient interface between Marketing and Sales can be accomplished by implementing best practices and excellent technology.
While Sales and Marketing can operate independently, they can only reach the pinnacle of effectiveness when working together towards the common goal of landing new clients. While these two teams travel in the same direction the intersection of Sales and Marketing will always be new leads. Billions of dollars are spent annually by Marketing teams investing in varied tactics to generate coveted leads for their Sales counterparts.
Marketers are responsible for creating content and for publishing that content to receptive prospects. They are also responsible for creating demand and nurturing existing leads through the buying process. Managing advertising, publishing blog content, writing whitepapers, and maintaining their organization’s website should result in leads that the Sales team can close. On the other side of the wall the Sales team is responsible for their process of accepting the Lead, Qualification, Project Scoping, Negotiations and Closing the deals. Each team under pressure to deliver the results their organization needs to be successful.
“More leads, more leads!” is the message that comes from the Sales team. “Where are the leads I gave you last week?” asks Marketing. It is the inevitable debate about the quality of the leads. Sales teams complaining about the quality of leads gives Marketing migraines; putting Marketing in a defensive position, trying to justify their work, and usually under intense scrutiny from senior management.
Advances in technology have brought much-needed insight and a level of accountability to this process. Modern marketers can focus their attention and budget dollars on developing digital campaigns and engagement with their audience. Each component of these efforts is tracked using their CMS and email Marketing tools and synced to the company’s CRM. With tracking in place, marketers can illustrate how they have nurtured leads through the demand process and into the Sales funnel. The conversation between Sales and Marketing can shift to talking about which strategies are effective and bearing fruit rather than debating the definition of “quality”.
There is no doubt the data gathered from prospects behaviors (such as downloading a whitepaper or registering to attend an upcoming webinar) has value to both Sales and Marketing. Sales can use this data to assess the stage a prospect is in on the buying journey while the same data allows Marketing to further segment leads and deliver relevant, targeted messaging. Connecting your CMS to your CRM provides even more information to both the Sales and Marketing teams than has ever been available before. This insight into the prospects’ journey deepens the relationship and provides intimate details to the Sales team; giving them the foundation to nurture and move the prospects through the Sales funnel. With rich insight into the types of content that attracted prospects, Sales can pitch the right message to prospect. Ensuring that initial conversations that are relevant to potential customers’ needs and interests means building trust faster and shorter Sales cycles. Marketing is also rewarded as they are able to see the leads life-cycle beyond their own efforts. This data can be used as the basis for content development, campaign development, Marketing strategy and overall success.
Leads entering the pipeline can be viewed in the CRM by Sales with the details of their journey included. This invaluable data is now available for Sales to harness and used to determine the validity of the leads. Marketing can see what leads are being accepted and what leads are being rejected. T Data gathered through the Demand/Lead Generation and Sales processes create an environment for informed decision-making. Even if we are passionate about what we do, emotions are removed from the equation, and the data speaks for itself.
Through their CMS, Marketing learns the effectiveness of their campaigns and which type of campaigns result in the best leads for their Sales team through campaign analytics. Since they have visibility into campaign metrics; Marketing is equipped with data to optimize effective campaigns and discontinue ineffective campaigns. Reiteration based on real data empowers campaigns. Opportunities can be associated to a specific campaign and lead source, thus alleviating the question – “Where did this lead come from?” Conversations between Sales and Marketing are more meaningful when they are based on metrics driven by both parties’ efforts. We can clearly see where we have succeeded and where we have room for improvement and all of this is made possible by having the right tools in place, including a powerful CMS
Sales &amp; Marketing teams have different day to day tasks. Related but not necessarily dependent, their goals have to be a reflection of each other’s efforts. Marketing launches intelligently crafted targeted campaigns with the ultimate goal of generating good qualified leads for Sales. Sales accepts these leads and continues the nurturing process to a close. It is a carefully choreographed dance that can only be mastered with time, practice and the right tools.

Sales & Marketing – Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers or Oil and Water?

Serious content marketers know how powerful a tool video is when capturing and holding the attention of site visitors. Brightcove is a solid choice for video content delivery thanks to their robust “in the cloud” approach.
Long story short, Brightcove is a top notch web video solution. Recently they have announced exciting integrations with some of the most widely used Content Management Systems: Adobe CQ5, Agility, Atex Polopoly, Drupal, Ektron, Microsoft Sharepoint 2010, PaperThin CommonSpot, Sitecore, and WordPress. Jeff Whatcott, chief marketing officer at Brightcove, had this to say about how important video is as part of your web content strategy:
<blockquote>
“Video’s pervasiveness across the Web makes it a central component in the content mix thanks to its unmatched ability to tell stories, generate brand awareness, and increase loyalty. Website publishers need the same high degree of control over video that they’ve had with text and images to create a content strategy with more personalized experiences and a wider range of content types that drive visitor engagement, transactions, and return visits. Brightcove’s CMS integrations help publishers take full advantage of the many marketing benefits of video by easily incorporating it into their existing content workflows.”
</blockquote>
It is a very difficult task to try and be everything to everyone. Some companies try to build a solution that covers all content possible but many times find that they specialize in just one or more core functionality. Many CMSs have some video capabilities but they may not be as strong as what Brightcove offers. This is one reason why integrations like this are so exciting. Brightcove has proven that they specialize in video content. Clients who already use Adobe CQ5, Agility, Atex Polopoly, Drupal, Ektron, Microsoft Sharepoint 2010, PaperThin CommonSpot, Sitecore, or WordPress can now have Brightcove's Video Cloud content abilities right within the CMS. The result is less of a learning curve and faster content turnaround because the video element becomes part of the workflow of the CMS you are already familiar with.
Some of the features Brightcove's Video Cloud brings with these integrations are:
<ul>
<li>Centralized workflows, combining the functions of the CMS and Video Cloud within a single user interface.</li>
<li>Rich CMS functionality for video assets that leverages the full capabilities of the CMS, such as A/B testing, multivariate testing, and social sharing for video assets.</li>
<li>Unified analytics that allow organizations to analyze all of their content data within a single holistic environment.</li>
<li>Cross-content search through which users can include video content when searching across all content types.</li>
<li>Granular permissions that make it possible to bundle video assets with other content under a consistent set of rules.</li>

Demandbase today announced that its real-time identification technology is now connected with Marketo, the cloud-based marketing software platform. The Demandbase Platform – which includes modules for Company Targeted Advertising, Website Content Personalization, Web Analytics Enhancements, and Online Forms – now easily plugs in to Marketo landing pages and lead capture forms, to enable personalized offers and shorter, more precise forms. Because Demandbase can identify the company of otherwise anonymous web visitors in real-time, the business attributes of the visitor are known before a page is rendered or a form is filled out. The Demandbase connector for Marketo improves lead segmentation, scoring and routing – without sacrificing detailed visitor information – dramatically improving conversion rates.
<blockquote>
“One of the biggest barriers to effective online marketing is converting web traffic into qualified leads,” said Robin Bordoli, vice president of partner ecosystems and strategic alliances at Marketo. “By coupling Demandbase’s targeting and personalization capabilities with the Marketo platform, our customers can increase the quality of their customer data, provide more targeted and personalized offers, and ultimately drive stronger revenue results.”
</blockquote>
The Demandbase connector for Marketo brings the power of real-time intelligence about otherwise anonymous visitors – from the first visit to the customer site – to Marketo customers, eliminating the need for lengthy forms, while also improving customer engagement and lead capture. Since Demandbase provides the critical company attributes about a web visitor, it means fewer questions are necessary at the time of a form-to-conversion activity on the website, resulting in lower site abandonment. And, because nearly 20 percent of data entered into forms is incorrect and more than 80 percent of people have reported lying on forms, data quality is significantly improved through Demandbase.
<blockquote>
“Increasing the volume of overall leads that a company is selling to their target audiences is critical to maximize the impact of what a powerful marketing automation platform like Marketo can do,” said Greg Ott, CMO of Demandbase. “Now, with the Demandbase connector for Marketo, businesses can optimize this lead capture from the start, driving more and better qualified leads, and enabling sales and marketing teams to focus on their most scalable programs to increase revenue.”
</blockquote>
Demandbase’s targeting and personalization platform plugs in to a customer’s existing online marketing tools, such as CMS, CRM, advertising exchanges, live chat, and marketing automation, giving all of these tools a consistent view of the company attributes in real time.  The platform is built on patented real-time identification technology and a proprietary data management platform. Learn more about Demandbase’s integration into marketing automation <a href="http://bit.ly/12Il00D" target="_blank">here</a>.

Acquia unveils new Commerce Cloud

<a href="http://jadu.net/">Jadu</a>, a global Web Content Management supplier, today announced major upgrades to its line of WCM, online forms and search tools which have been designed for Higher Education, Government and large commercial organizations. With the launch of ‘Jadu Universe’, Jadu now provides organizations with a ‘Web Experience Platform’ with multi-channel web publishing, retail and marketing tools. Jadu’s Universe platform brings together the Jadu CMS, Jadu XFP (Online Forms system), Rupa Portal (a solution that uses search as a basis for portal and collaboration functionality) and the new cloud based ‘Weejot’ mobile offering into a single, multi-channel product suite. The suite of products has been integrated and upgraded to provide a cohesive and single point of management for all online customer touch points. With in-built marketing automation and analytics, as well as powerful, non-technical content management tools, Jadu Universe provides a unified and pervasive platform that delivers the full web and mobile customer experience. The Jadu Universe platform has a new user interface that focuses on productivity. In addition, it has a re-invented template system that provides full support for responsive site design. This means that sites can render on multiple devices and be maintained by web designers without the need for template languages or proprietary code, taking full advantage of HTML5 and CSS3. Jadu has also recently announced the launch of a cloud based mobile web delivery service called ‘Weejot’, which integrates natively with the Jadu Universe Platform. The Weejot service enables non-technical marketers to create and deploy mobile web apps in minutes as well as providing a Software Development Kit (SDK) for developers to build their own mobile web apps for the service.
<blockquote>
“We’ve focused our attention on enhancing and integrating our products into a platform with mobile in the middle,” says Suraj Kika, Jadu’s CEO. “What we have developed is a unique and magical suite of applications that makes managing the customer experience and publishing to all channels much easier.”
</blockquote>
In 2008, Jadu announced its ‘MyJadu API’ a RESTful API to enable open data and syndicated content from its Web Content Management System. In Universe, Jadu has extended and leveraged the MyJadu API in delivering integration with its Weejot mobile service. Jadu’s apps MarketPlace is now built into the Universe interface as the best place to discover new mobile apps, widgets, Rupa portal gadgets and Form components. MarketPlace is surfaced through the new ‘Universe Search’ system which provides content discovery across all areas of content from a single query. Universe Search results page makes it easier to discover and open documents and other content items. Items can be flagged and sorted much like an email client. Additional new features in Universe include:
<ul>
<li>An entirely new HTML template workflow that radically reduces website implementation time and supports HTML5 and CSS3 as well as responsive design</li>
<li>Completely revamped marketing analysis tools to provide powerful marketing automation and user experience reporting</li>
<li>Real-time dashboard reporting on site activity and marketing intelligence as well as CMS administrator activity</li>
<li>Deeper social media integration adding Twitter, Facebook and Google+ integration</li>
<li>Out of the box SharePoint connectivity</li>
<li>Real time mobile web publishing system based on Jadu’s ‘Weejot’ service</li>
<li>Content migration assistant to speed up the process of migrating content</li>
<li>Powerful developer tools with the upgraded MyJaduAPI REST interface</li>
</ul>
“Jadu is obsessed with making great products that our customers can use to deliver great experiences for their customers,” says Suraj. “Mobile driven web traffic has reached tipping point and Universe makes it outstandingly easy to publish in real-time to any device.” Jadu has long been the leader in the UK Government and Higher Education markets and has specialized in building high security and scalability into its products. The company incorporated in the USA in 2010 and has already sealed an international reseller deal with SunGard Higher Education as a web experience offering for its higher education customers. The company recently announced that its XFP forms product has been deployed for the UK Government’s website Directgov. Other recent customers include Messiah College, Coppin State University, City of Edinburgh Council, University of Leeds as well as a host of other higher education institutions, government agencies, charities and commercial businesses. Jadu will release the new Universe Platform in Q2 of 2012.
