We have been fortunate enough to be first to receive a video preview of the features that will be available in Hannon Hill's upcoming Cascade Server 7.2 release. Yesterday, they released  Cascade Server 7.2 beta for those interested in testing.
One of the improvements to the user interface is the ability to drag and drop webpages within the website structure. A user with this ability activated will be able to drag and drop a webpage or other asset into a different folder on their site, and upon doing so, that user will be presented with additional options for renaming and republishing that webpage in its new location.
In addition to drag and drop moving, there are several other user interface features included in the beta release of Cascade Server 7.2, such as automatic saving of drafts in the background of the application, an updated format editing user interface, clickable labels enabling easier selection of options throughout different parts of the system, auto-complete site switching for navigating between sites in Cascade Server, an easy way for administrators to check which effective abilities a user has for a given site, and preview functionality to the format editing interface.
“Improving the user experience in Cascade Server has been our focus for quite some time now,” emphasized Hannon Hill Lead Software Engineer Mike Strauch. “There are few things more frustrating than a powerful piece of software that is difficult to use, which is why I love the improvements we've made to format editing and saving of drafts; things feel much more seamless.”

Adobe has released an interesting infographic entitled the “Marketing Myth” that highlights some interesting bits of research. One finding I found especially interesting is that 53% of people want a dislike button. This happens to be one of the #1 complaints my father in law, who recently joined Facebook to see pictures of our kids, mentions most often.
In his words:

“I'm tired of looking at people's food and pictures of their pets on Facebook. Why isn't there a dislike button or a Wilf thinks this is stupid button?”

Yes, the father in law. A beacon of knowledge and refreshing frankness (ok perhaps not when he's lecturing me about products being made in China, but the rest of the time).
Other results from their research indicate that 69% of respondents use social media, a number that certainly seems to be on the rise while only 29% stated that “Likes” drive them to check out products. Even more disturbing for those that use Facebook as a marketing tool is the fact that only 2% say that these “likes” inspire them to purchase a product.
I'll be honest, I've never been a huge Facebook fan. I personally find the site is too out to make money, especially since they started to charge to expose content to people who've liked your page. This research just makes me more convinced that something needs to change.

Obviously, Adobe is determined to change this perception and to do that, they've launched a Metrics, Not Myths campaign. Here's a <a href="http://blogs.adobe.com/conversations/2012/10/in-defense-of-marketing.html">link</a> to Adobe's Chief Marketing Officer, Ann Lewnes response to these results.

Over the last year, our team has been hard at work to release the next phase to our platform. It’s a major piece to our puzzle, this time changing the way business advertisers target and personalize their ads.
Today, we launched <a href="http://www.demandbase.com/what-we-do-and-why/demandbase-company-targeted-advertising">Demandbase Company-Targeted Advertising</a>, and for the first time, advertisers have the ability to target specific companies only, and through this technology, they can follow that customer from the ad to the web site and through the CRM system – through the entire campaign, with no cookies.
We saw an opportunity in the B2B advertising market when we saw marketers struggle with campaigns with little results. In fact, some companies are wasting more than 90 percent of their ad budget to attract businesses to their website. B2B sales teams are usually only targeting a few thousand companies, yet there are tens of millions of them out there. So we came up with a brand new approach, giving B2B advertisers the opportunity to run efficient, zero-waste campaigns.
By uniquely identifying companies on a website – on the first visit and without a cookie – we qualify the visitors and when applicable, they are served the targeted ads. This is what makes the Demandbase Company-Targeted Advertising solution so unique. You can serve ads to your targets on their FIRST visit to a target site while making them personal and more relevant.
So here’s how it works. We ask our customers to send us a list of companies, or a set of attributes about a company that would be a good target for them. For instance, they can target Fortune 1000 companies, or select businesses by industry size, revenue, exact company name, or a number of attributes. This is a critical step in ensuring that Company-Targeted Advertising produces zero-waste campaigns. From there, we get the customer’s creative, or if they don’t have one yet, we can work with them to create ads in house here at Demandbase. Then we work with ad exchanges to make sure that client ads are personalized and served to the companies on the target list. No more effort, time and money wasted on focusing ads where they don’t belong – in front of companies that aren’t on your target list or match up to the attributes you were looking for in a company.
Metrics like impressions, clicks and CPL, still apply, but also companies can now connect your ad spend to overall target company engagement. With our solution, customers know their targets, so they are able to engage accounts that were not responding to other marketing tactics, as well as accelerate the buyer’s journey for those already engaged.
A few large enterprise companies have been testing this with us, and they’re targeting and personalizing online ads to specific account lists to drive higher website engagement. While our customers are still underway on their campaigns (and not yet ready to share those results but will soon!) we know they’re seeing more brand awareness, sales leads and revenue from these targeted companies. Telerik today announced the availability of Sitefinity 5.2, the latest release of the company’s leading web content management platform. This is the last day of nominations for the <a href="https://www.cmscritic.com/cms-critic-awards/">Critic's Choice CMS Awards</a>.
