comScore, Inc. today announced the U.S. launch of <a href="http://www.comscore.com/Products_Services/Product_Index/Mobile_Metrix_2.0" target="_self" rel="noopener noreferrer">Mobile Metrix® 2.0</a>, its next generation mobile behavioral measurement service. Mobile Metrix 2.0 brings comScore’s Unified Digital Measurement™ to smartphone devices, combining passive on-device measurement with census-level data to provide one of the most accurate and detailed views into actual U.S. mobile media usage across apps and mobile browsing.
<blockquote>
“The introduction of Mobile Metrix 2.0 represents the culmination of significant product development to bring the market detailed behavioral measurement of mobile media usage, including access from both mobile browser and apps,” said Mark Donovan, comScore SVP of mobile. “This completely retooled and enhanced version of the service is the mobile analog to comScore’s flagship Media Metrix product, bringing critical insights such as audience size and demographics to the mobile marketplace. In addition to the granularity of reporting between mobile browser and apps across operating systems, Mobile Metrix 2.0 also enables a unified view of media properties’ total mobile reach, providing both advertisers and publishers with the actionable insights necessary to optimize their mobile strategies.”
</blockquote>
82 Percent of Time Spent with Mobile Media Happens Via Apps
Mobile Metrix 2.0 enables reporting of unduplicated audience sizes across app and browser usage, providing a comprehensive view of the complete media brand reach on mobile devices. Among smartphone users age 18 and older accessing from iOS, Android and RIM smartphones, Google Sites ranked as the top property with nearly 94 million unique visitors, representing 96.9 percent of the mobile audience. Facebook ranked second with 78.0 million visitors (80.4 percent reach), followed by Yahoo! Sites with 66.2 million visitors (68.2 percent reach) and Amazon Sites 44.0 million visitors (45.4 percent reach).
Analysis of the share of time spent across apps and browsers revealed that even though these access methods had similar audience sizes, apps drove the lion’s share of engagement, representing 4 in every 5 mobile media minutes. Analysis of the top properties also revealed widely varying degrees of time spent between app and browser access methods. On Facebook, the top ranked mobile media property by engagement, 80 percent of time spent was represented by app usage compared to 20 percent via browser. Twitter saw an even higher percentage of time spent with apps at 96.5 percent of all minutes. In contrast, Microsoft Sites was among brands that saw browser access driving a majority of usage at 82.1 percent.

Smartphones Drive Significant Engagement for Leading Social Networking Brands
Social networking proved to be a particularly popular activity on smartphones with several brands demonstrating exceptionally high engagement, in some cases higher than the corresponding time spent by users via traditional web access. Facebook once again led the pack among social networking brands, with the average Facebook mobile user engaging for more than 7 hours via browser or app in March. The 25.6 million Twitter mobile users (excluding usage via third-party apps) had an average engagement of nearly 2 hours during the month. By comparison, people visiting on their computers spent just 20.4 minutes on Twitter.com, highlighting the importance of mobile engagement for mobile-centric brands. Pinterest, which has seen its adoption explode in recent months, reached 7.5 million smartphone visitors who engaged with the brand for nearly an hour. Location-based social network Foursquare attracted 5.5 million mobile visitors at an average of nearly 2.5 hours, while Tumblr reached an audience of nearly 4.5 million who engaged for 68 minutes during the month.

comScore Introduces Mobile Metrix 2.0, Revealing that Social Media Brands Experience Heavy Engagement on Smartphones

Social networks have changed the way many individuals receive information and make decisions. For instance, a user on twitter can have in their feed an industry expert review of a product or service, and the opinion of a peer who has also used the product or service. As consumers we value the opinions of other consumers like us do we not? Sitecore CSA, launched today, can harness that community element.
<blockquote>
“Developed in partnership with Telligent, the Sitecore Community Solution Accelerator helps marketers better understand customer needs, increase brand awareness, leverage word of mouth, and build a powerful social ecosystem to increase sales revenues.”
“The Sitecore Community Solution Accelerator offers marketers a more seamless way to manage and blend owned and earned media. Digital marketing strategies and campaigns become more conversational and informative by combining social media applications and Web Content Management, seamlessly within an organization’s website. Furthermore, customer acquisition is improved by providing user generated content to guide in the research and buying lifecycle process.
Peer recommendations through social sharing features on Facebook and Twitter, as well as blogging, friending and following, provide conversation points and help drive qualified traffic to product pages. In addition, integration with multiple customer interaction channels including CRM systems and mobile applications provide a holistic view of the complete customer experience.”
</blockquote>
The level of consumer interaction and customer experience can be the difference on whether they stay interested in your site or move on.
<blockquote>
Additional benefits include:
<ul>
<li>Build stronger relationships between prospects, customers, channels, influencers, and brand – fosters brand advocacy</li>
<li>Gain more insight into how customers are using products and services</li>
<li>Enhance your brand by allowing executives and thought leaders to publicly publish content around products, services and trends</li>
</ul>

Social content management software,  Butterfly Publisher now integrates with MailChimp to deliver a comprehensive social/email publishing one-two punch. The mindset for many has been that email is separate from social networks.
The President of Socialize Your Stuff, the makers of Butterfly Publisher, echoed those sentiments saying:
<blockquote>
“Email is often thought of as functionally and philosophically separate from other social marketing efforts. Butterfly Publisher instead treats email as an entry point to a broader social conversation. This integrated approach allows users to take their high quality content and easily publish it across platforms.”
</blockquote>
Traditionally you have your MailChimp email list from which you would send newsletters to your avid readers. Then you would have Facebook fans, Twitter followers, and other social network lists you would manage separately. MailChimp makes email behave more like a social network and Butterfly Publisher makes your social networks behave. Together with this new integrating of features, you have ultimate control.
Start with your Butterfly Publisher account. Build and curate all of your shareable information; RSS, Twitter feeds, blogs, search results, etc. Setup scheduled posts and sharing through these networks. What about email? No worries. Compile these chunks of information by time period into what they call a “Social Digest.”
<h3>What does this mean?</h3>
 Say you could combine your Twitter, Facebook, and other conversations into a nice portable package. Then using the MailChimp features, now integrated, you can keep your email list updated with the relevant conversations going on in the social realm.
Those in your email list are now notified or reminded of your conversations over social links via this “social roundup” and perhaps prompted to continue the conversation. More engagement, more likes, more fans, and more fuel for your marketing strategy
<h3>How do you know its working? Comprehensive tracking</h3>
<blockquote>
“Butterfly Publisher also allows tracking of engagement and reach so customers can be segmented accordingly. Subscribers can be sorted by the number of Twitter followers and friends on Facebook, and more. It‘s easy to track who has engaged with previous messages and promotions, and in what manner. This leads to highly targeted email campaigns which go after only a company's most ardent fans with the largest social reach, or targeting those who haven‘t responded in high numbers and could use some special attention. By connecting in this manner, organizations can make people happy and spark growth.”
</blockquote>
Two excellent services now integrated together keeping you communicating effectively with your customers.

Sitecore today announced availability of its new technology that enables marketers and Web designers to utilize Sitecore’s Web platform as a central hub for all Adobe InDesign content including document layouts and settings. Sitecore Adaptive Print Studio brings together print and Web design teams to deliver more dynamic, personalized, customer-facing print media including annual reports, whitepapers, data sheets, brochures, catalogs and magazines.
“With Adaptive Print Studio we can now manage the entire Web and print process for our annual product catalog in less time and with fewer resources,” said Don Costello, manager of ecommerce, Uponor. “Product managers can update the catalog daily and get it into review cycles weeks prior to print production, proving a significant time and cost savings. In fact, we are looking at cutting down catalog production time from more than two-hundred days to less than twenty days. It’s changing the way we do business.”
Adaptive Print Studio works as plug-in to Adobe InDesign providing online access to work queue and the ability to pull content from Sitecore’s Content Management System (CMS) directly into InDesign. It brings rich content management capabilities to print designs in the InDesign and InCopy products, including team collaboration, multi-lingual management, security and workflow control and dynamic document delivery. Furthermore, Sitecore Adaptive Print Studio gives non-designers within marketing, sales, service and HR departments the freedom to customize PDF’s and print products from layout to publish.
“The design and print production of marketing materials takes up about 30 percent of a marketer’s budget and a significant amount of time is wasted because content creators rely on designers for layout and print needs,” said Darren Guarnaccia, senior vice president, product marketing, Sitecore. “Adaptive Print Studio gives marketing departments the freedom and flexibility to create professional PDFs and print collateral. The product is based on true collaboration, because the advanced features of Sitecore’s CMS such as workflows, drag and drop content, language management and security settings can also be used for print projects.”
Adaptive Print Studio brings the rich content management and digital marketing functionality marketers rely on for the Web, to print content. Benefits include:
<ul>
<li>Deliver targeted print content in real-time and connect customer behavior to online content and campaigns</li>
<li>Gain control of print content and shorten production time for print assets</li>
<li>Edit and create brochures and other print materials with no Adobe InDesign knowledge required</li>
<li>Reduce review cycles and faster time-to-market for printed collateral</li>
<li>Publish to any channel quickly and easily</li>
</ul>

Despite the recent financial and economic recession, online shopping is reported to continue growing. These days customers want shopping to be quick and easy, while businesses want to increase sales by making their online shops popular with consumers. This is why experts are working on user-friendly eye-catching ecommerce websites to make them as effective as possible. Here are four tips on how to create an effective site effortlessly.
<h2>1. Make security your top priority</h2>
Customers tend to buy from services they trust, so if your website is 100 per cent secure, make your customers aware of this. An SSL certificate is the right way to do this. SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) is a standard security technology for establishing an encrypted link between a web server and a browser. This link ensures that all data passed between the web server and browsers remain private and integral; this means ecommerce websites with the SSL certificate are able to prevent third parties from unauthorised access to the user’s information and protect all data. According to experts, installing this security tool is the first step towards starting a relationship with customers who are ready to trust you their credit card numbers, addresses and other private data.
<h2>2. Focus on compelling copy</h2>
Content is your chance to communicate news to your clients and convince them that your products and services are exactly what they need. Web surfers tend to scan information displayed on ecommerce websites rather than read it. It’s usually headings and subheadings that capture the user’s attention; therefore they need to be informative and enticing to encourage the customer to read the body for detailed information.
In the body, focus on benefits of your products and services rather than their qualities. Arrange the points properly using bulleted lists and keep them short and concise yet informative. Well-organised data is known to be quick and easy to read, whereas emphasis in the form of lists will subconsciously draw the visitor’s attention.
<h2>3. Ensure site navigation is user-friendly</h2>
Turning visitors to customers might be challenging. The fewer questions arise when they browse your site, the more effective and user-friendly it is. A lengthy complicated sign-in process that can force them to change their mind at the last minute is probably the last thing you want to offer them when closing the deal. Ecommerce websites that are easy to navigate are likely to be a success on the e-market where competition for the customer is stiff and novel ecommerce solutions are being introduced all the time. You need to make it clear what your customers need to do to find the way from point A to point B and where they should click to complete a transaction.
<h2>4. Deliver high quality services</h2>
Start providing customer services before visitors to your ecommerce websites turn into buyers and keep on servicing them after the deal. Information they’re looking for on your site should be fast and easy to find, links should be easy to recognise and transactions need to be simple to complete.
Post-purchasing contact is fundamental too. Consumers will appreciate if you send them a ‘thank you’ email for every purchase they’ve made on your site and are likely to buy from you next time. If there is a discount they can get with the next purchase, informing them officially in the form of an electronic letter is a great way of promoting business-to-customer relationships at the lowest costs.
An ever growing number of consumers are now turning to ecommerce because it’s a safer, quicker and easier way to shop online. This makes it more important than ever to create ecommerce websites that work both for your business and customers.

Joomla 2.5.4 Released

Do you run a travel agency? Looking for a CMS that provides an integrated booking system with tons of other features? You are in luck.  <a href="http://www.webiny.com">Webiny</a> just released their cloud service for their Content Management System and Booking System for Travel Agencies. Following closed development and testing on selected clients, Webiny is now available for everyone in Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model.
Webiny offers out-of-the-box products to create web portals and websites with Webiny Content Management System or travel websites with Webiny Booking System. Besides of ready-made products, Webiny enables custom development of web applications, which will enable developers and designers to create custom experience for any website.
<blockquote>
“We’ve seen the need for advanced web application for Content Management and Booking System. Currently, most of the travel agency software available has limitations, either in price (higher upfront price) or in integration with other web applications such as Content Management Systems or Email Marketing software” says Goran Candrlic, cofounder, and continues: “We’ve worked in online travel for quite some time now and we’ve seen the needs of travel agencies in providing top-of-the-line websites. Current solutions are either too complex to use or too hard to implement and integrate. We move it to web and integrate with other products in our portfolio (such as Content Management, Banner Management or Email Marketing Suite).”
</blockquote>
“We’ve developed everything from scratch as we wanted to have full control of how our application works.” says Sven Al Hamad, founder and CTO. He continues: “Our architecture and workflows enable us to grow and scale rapidly. We’ve also included backup procedures, caching mechanisms and have tighten up security, so business users can rest assured that their databases and client data are secured.”
Webiny uses SaaS model to provide great software at a smaller price, and other top benefits for end-users are included business workflows and process automation. Target market are all business that want stable, scalable and secured environment for their websites, travel sites and custom web applications.

“We believe SaaS is the future that has already started. All recent market research shows that cloud software is on the rise in both demand and offer, so we’ve jumped to that bandwagon. Who can say otherwise when companies such as Google and Microsoft invest heavily into SaaS. Our goals include further development of the platform, development of the future Webiny products such as eCommerce and CRM and formation of community of developers and designers that would use the technology to produce even better web applications and services.” concludes Sven Al Hamad.

Webiny Cloud Service and CMS for Travel Agencies is Launched

Liferay, Inc. Has announced that the latest version of its flagship product, Liferay Portal 6.1, hit more than 550,000 downloads in the first three months of its release.
At the same time, Liferay announced the start of a new series of multi-city roadshows to bring the recently released Liferay Portal 6.1 Enterprise Edition (EE) directly to the backyards of global business users.
Liferay Portal 6.1’s high download numbers within the first months of its public debut is at a record level for the portal provider, signifying the support and enthusiasm that continues to build around the award-winning, open-source portal platform. The rate of downloads has more than doubled the rate for Liferay Portal 6.0’s release, which totaled about 230,000 downloads in its first three months. The strong reception for Liferay Portal 6.1 also points to the heavy demand for flexible, robust enterprise solutions in today’s fast-paced, increasingly collaborative business environment.
<blockquote>
“We’re very pleased at the warm reception for Liferay Portal 6.1,” said Paul Hinz, Liferay’s Chief Marketing Officer. “Our product is becoming the de-facto standard for not just portal technology, but for enterprises’ broader web-platform strategies. This is being reflected in the download numbers for our freely available Community Edition as well as heightened interest in our professionally supported Enterprise Edition.”

A special Liferay Roadshows series, which begins on April 4 in Boston, Mass. and travels to more than 20 cities in the U.S. and parts of Europe before ending in May, will showcase the latest in the Liferay Portal platform. “Usability enhancements for workflow processing, publishing and content management make Liferay Portal 6.1 EE the richest portal offering yet for business users,” added Hinz.
Liferay experts will be on the ground demonstrating key features designed to empower the non-technical user and reduce IT intervention, including: Liferay Sync, a powerful document sharing vehicle providing offline synchronization for Liferay Portal users; Kaleo Forms, a visually stunning and functional workflow processing capability; and User Data Lists, which allow Liferay users to create custom lists and model business processes online without involving a developer.
Liferay’s partners around the world will participate in these events and give free consultations on how decision makers can build effective solutions for their business needs. CIGNEX Datamatics, DTS, Dunn Solutions, Emeldi, Fulcrum, Intelliware, Isos Technology, Rivet Logic, Savoir-faire Linux, Xtivia, Youngsoft and Zia Consulting are among the partners hitting the road with Liferay.
“We can talk at length about the impressive features that have been developed for Liferay Portal 6.1 EE, but nothing can quite capture the exciting offerings of this new product like an on-the-ground, live demonstration,” said Glenn Saler, Liferay’s Alliance Manager for North America. “The product speaks for itself.”
