Magnolia, the open source content management vendor that delivers simplicity on an enterprise scale, today announced two new hires to ensure customer satisfaction and continued new business expansion.
Bill Beardslee has been hired as General Manager for Magnolia in North, Central and South America. Bill will be responsible for expanding the Americas partner network. Bill was previously with dotCMS, where he developed and managed the partner program.
“Building a large, capable partner ecosystem in the Americas is our highest priority,” said Boris Kraft, President of Magnolia. “Unlike other CMS vendors, Magnolia does not offer implementation or customization services. Our customers and prospects rely upon our partners for Magnolia expertise in consulting, implementation and maintenance.”
Sean McMains joins the company from Texas State University, where he headed up the web applications team in charge of implementing and maintaining over 250 Magnolia-powered sites. In his new role as Sales Engineer at Magnolia, Sean will serve as a dedicated technical sales resource for Magnolia. Sean will work directly with new partners as they pursue their own new business efforts. He will also be the point person for Tier III support issues among clients in the Americas.
“Both Sean and Bill are critical new hires for Magnolia,” said Felix Stern, CEO of Magnolia Americas. “Thanks to customers like the U.S. Navy, Sony and Johnson & Johnson, our business has grown 290% from 2007 to 2010, and we’re on track for another high growth year in 2011. I look forward to working with Sean, Bill and our partners. We will have a busy year.”
