Edentity Web Systems today announced the launch of the January iteration of the Agility Content Management system. Each month, a new version of Agility is made available to users with upgrades and improvements to the software-as-a-service CMS. This month’s release was focused on user generated content updates. It includes 10 new features and resolves about 100 minor issues.
Aspects of this specific update include the ability to customize user generated content, such as adding comments or video, with moderation. This allows users to track which comments or videos are being added to their sites, and ensure that spam and unfiltered material does not get through. Minor updates include picture resizing, re-publishing from an unpublished list, and the option to copy fields across multiple languages.
The user generated content enhancements allow for automatic conversion of video to Flash, and automatic uploading of videos to YouTube. The same functionality applies to photos for Flickr, a commonly used site for sharing photos. Both of these updates will make it easier for users to share content and media from the website, to help foster a sense of community and to increase repeat traffic to the site.
Social Networking aspects were also improved. Enhancements such as streamlined publishing to mobile sites, Facebook pages, Twitter feeds and YouTube channels will vastly improve the site’s views and following. Support for “Facebook Connect” has been improved so that users are able to log in to a site with their Facebook credentials and tie their profile to the site.
Michael Assad, CEO of Edentity, says, “Our agency clients continue to request features related to user generated content and multi-platform publish and our latest release delivers. We are already building sites for prominent brands using this technology and there are some exciting announcements coming this quarter.”
