The popular website building platform <a href="http://motocms.com/">MotoCMS</a> is just weeks away from becoming <a href="http://beta.motocms.com/" target="_blank">MotoCMS 3.0</a>. For now though, a select bunch of users can gain access to the beta.
MotoCMS aims to make website building easy via a very wide range of templates, a drag-and-drop interface, widgets, a built-in mobile editor and more. It currently powers over 375,000 websites the world over.
Let's take a look at what's new with MotoCMS 3.0.
<h2>Knocked Down &amp; Rebuilt</h2>

The team behind MotoCMS 3.0 have completely rebuilt the platform, enhancing it in a number of different ways.
All templates are now responsive out of the box (but can still be modified with the mobile editor), a revamped admin panel makes it more functional and user-friendly, while speed also seems to have been given a special focus in the update.

All beta users will also be able to leave a feedback on the system, contributing to any last-minute improvements and fixes.

.NET and Java based CMS typically rule the roost when it comes to the enterprise but that doesn't mean there aren't powerful PHP based content management systems out there that can do just as good a job.

Drupal has been used in thousands (if not millions) of websites around the world for all kinds of implementations and most certainly in enterprises as well. As one of the most powerful content management frameworks on the market, it's not a surprise they took this award.

Ahead of a <a href="http://investors.wix.com/eventdetail.cfm?EventID=150924" target="_blank">scheduled Wix conference call and webcast</a> to announce their 2014 third quarter financial results, <a href="http://www.wix.com/" target="_blank">Wix</a> has unveiled two notable upcoming releases; WixStores and WixJet.
Wix was recently crowned the winner of the <a href="/the-winner-of-the-2014-peoples-choice-cms-award-for-best-website-builder/" target="_blank">People's Choice CMS Award for Best Website Builder 2014</a>. Chosen to be covered in detail over at <a href="http://websitebuilderscritic.com/" target="_blank">Website Builders Critic</a>, Wix has solidified itself as one of the world's leading website builders after just a year of being a public company.
Along with their financial reports and some general business updates, two announcements have caught the eye. Let's take a look at them both.

<h2>WixStores: Cohesive eCommerce</h2>
First up, Wix have confirmed that they are set to release a brand new eCommerce solution, WixStores, before the end of 2014.
With a completely redesigned software architecture, WixStores will give online merchants the ability to create beautiful online store with typical Wix ease.
A full set of store management tools like payment processing, inventory management, shipping and more will be bundled, along with a superior mobile and social commerce experience.
WixStores is designed to integrate seamlessly with other components of the Wix platform, including Wix ShoutOut, contacts database and App Market offerings. When combined with these products, WixStores will enable online merchants to create, manage and grow their online business from one cohesive environment.
CEO and Co-Founder of Wix, Avishai Abrahami, had this to say upon the announcement of WixStores:

<h2>WixJet: The Need for Speed</h2>
WixJet is set to speed up the web. Or at least, the Wix-powered web.
The speed of a website is now more important than ever. This is true when it comes to SEO as most know, but it's also vital when it comes to brand credibility and general conversion rates.
Traditionally, it has been the big boys of the Internet who have been able to fine tune their websites for speed. SMBs, freelancers and startups on the other hand, have had to make do with the available tools on the market, many of which are clunky pieces of software.
Wix though, has now decided to bring that speed-induced goodness to the masses, by unveiling a new technology that promises to load Wix websites faster than an estimated 95% of the websites on the Internet. That's pretty fast.
This proprietary advancement, “WixJet” was developed by Wix using <a href="http://facebook.github.io/react/" target="_blank">Facebook’s React JS technology</a>. It constitutes a complete restructuring of the platform’s codebase, enabling Wix user websites to run faster than ever before.

The Winner of the 2014 People's Choice CMS Award for Best Enterprise Java CMS

Ever since the <a href="/subrion-cms-3-now-more-powerful-flexible-than-ever-before/" target="_blank">release of version 3</a> back in 2013, the <a href="http://www.subrion.com/" target="_blank">Subrion CMS</a> has steadily improved. Now, a new set of enhancements have arrived to further polish the platform.
Developed by <a href="http://www.intelliants.com/" target="_blank">Intelliants</a>, Subrion CMS is an open-source content management system with a beautiful user interface and a range of scripts to help users quickly build niche website types, like directory websites, coupon websites, and so forth.
Subrion's latest improvements come in a set of four, Let's take a look at each.
<h2>New Visual Mode &amp; Enhanced Permissions</h2>
1. Visual Mode Improved

Users can now make use of the tried and tested drag-and-drop system to configure content blocks in different positions. You can visualize them using different predefined positions before switching everything around with ease.
According to Subrion though, the most important part of this feature is the ability to disable/enable positions for specific pages. Let's say you don't want a sidebar on a specific page. All you need to do is open Visual Mode and go to said page, click “Edit” and then disable the sidebar for that page specifically. The same can be done for all content block types.
2. Enhanced Permissions System

Subrion users can now easily configure permissions for usergroups and individual members. Permissions can be given to allow access to the admin panel, and setup ACL for both frontend &amp; admin dashboards. Custom permissions can be added too, using plugins &amp; packages.
Administrators can quickly find out which members have which permissions, filter them, and edit them. Plus, different parts of the website can be configured for different usergroups. For example: specific blocks can be only configured for members or guests.
Finally, administrators can configure advertising blocks to be displayed to guests only.
<h2>Improved Sponsored Plans &amp; New Templates</h2>
3. Sponsored Plan Improvements

Administrators can configure sponsored plans for members and setup paid memberships quickly and easily. Also, the system automatically handles invoices and re-sends necessary emails when requested by the member in question.
4. New Templates

Last but not least, Subrion has released several new templates, all of which look pretty snazzy.
The default template has changed, and is now called <a href="http://demos.subrion.com/startup/" target="_blank">Startup</a>. Furthermore, there are new templates dedicated to the Subrion CMS yellow pages script and articles script.
