The Top 10 AI Tools for Small Business: From Automation to a Coordinated Team of AI Agents

matt-garrepy

<a href="https://www.terminalfour.com/" target="_blank">TERMINALFOUR</a>, the leading provider of Digital Marketing and Web Content Management Solutions to higher education, today announced the latest release of its platform – TERMINALFOUR 8.2. This release benefits from almost 500 feature enhancements and new functionality particularly focusing on the key areas of accessibility, migrations and integrations, performance and form submissions.
This release, the most significant in two years, has been driven by client feedback, partner collaboration (including leading higher education solution providers like Ellucian) and by market demand.
Piero Tintori, CEO and founder, TERMINALFOUR, said, “Our market is constantly evolving and is becoming more confusing and complex for decision makers in higher education. Ultimately they just need their online strategies to support and fulfil their institutional goals i.e. to meet recruitment targets. They need to unify all the technological components of their digital and content strategies to enable them to offer an improved end user experience that helps them get results online, supporting the recruitment process.”
“This is the motivation behind TERMINALFOUR v8.2, to help our clients perform better online. Whether it be by enabling them embrace the potential of accessibility, the power of smart and impactful forms or by enabling them to pull all their content from multiple sources together to allow them put a cohesive and compelling story together for prospective students”, Tintori continued.
This release benefits from continued improvements to TERMINALFOUR’s already robust migration and integration functionality. Many legacy web content management systems are coming to end-of-life or are ceasing new feature development. Many universities are moving away from Open-Source alternatives that don’t offer iron clad support agreements; risky in relation to security and accessibility obligations. Other systems lack any digital marketing or specific higher education modules and, therefore, institutions are seeking solutions that streamline the migration headache.
Furthermore, as universities endeavor to create a unified content profile of every prospective, current and graduated student they are demanding solutions that integrate with the existing systems prevalent in their institutions e.g. CRM, Student Management Systems, alumni donation platforms etc. TERMINALFOUR 8.2 continues the product’s existing approach to offering seamless integrations with higher education technologies including the full host of Ellucian products.
TERMINALFOUR’s form builder feature continues to garner investment as it underpins the product’s emphasis on conversion. The latest version has enhanced the ability to create forms (on websites powered by TERMINALFOUR or other platforms), to easily add links to forms and to improve form performance by enhancements on page analytics i.e. better data relating to form abandonment and submissions.
Piero Tintori, CEO and Founder, said, “My instruction to our development and product management teams is always the same and very simple; focus on performance and conversion. What are things that help our clients grow their student recruitment pipeline, which improve engagement online and amplify their marketing message and impact? These are the things that are or should be meaningful to university recruitment, web and marketing teams.”
“There are clearly many moving parts when it comes to delivering on this goal but for us it informs a cohesive and ongoing roadmap that links web goals to institutional goals ”, he concluded.

Making a dynamic web site is a must these days. If your content stays the same for too long, visitors move on and your bounce rate will rise. It would be great if you could make your content adapt to whomever visits your site. That is exactly what Demandbase specializes in. Today Demandbase releases their real-time identification module for Drupal CMS. Focusing on Business to Business visitors, this Demandbase module identifies who is on your site and modifies the content accordingly. You want details? Here you go…
<img src="https://cmscritic.com/ms-content/uploads/2023/08/img_0182-1_bvpdig.jpg" alt="Demandbase-IDmod" />
Demandbase, the real-time personalization and targeting platform for B2B, today announced the availability of a Real-Time Identification module for the Drupal CMS platform, which provides for the ability to identify and target companies visiting their websites in real time. Demandbase customers using Drupal CMS can now use Real-Time Identification to target website visitors with relevant content, personalizing the website experiences based on more than 40 corporate targetable attributes including company, industry, revenue, location, DUNS numbers and much more.
<blockquote>“Everything on the web has moved to real time, and our B2B customers understand that in order to succeed, they too need to get on board with the real time web. With this new module, the massive Drupal community can now target customers with website experiences that are dynamically personalized based on the company attributes of visitors who would otherwise be anonymous,” said Amit Varshneya, Demandbase vice president of Strategic Services. “In the short time since we’ve made this available, the module’s intuitiveness and flexibility has allowed strong adoption and success, meaning better visitor engagement on customer websites as well as higher conversions.”</blockquote>
The Drupal Real-Time Identification module enables users of Drupal CMS to quickly and easily personalize website experiences. Both marketing and sales organizations benefit from delivering the right message at the right time to improve customer engagement.
Demandbase will host a webinar on June 19th, which will provide more information on how marketers and Drupal users can leverage the B2B Personalization Module to increase web conversions.

Demandbase releases real-time visitor identification for Drupal CMS

Most of your sales team will never like your CRM. Fact. Regardless of how shiny or new it is, your CRM will still create extra work for your team that doesn’t involve selling, and that’s a massive faux pas when it comes to keeping a sales person happy.
I should know, I used to be one of them.
<img src="https://cmscritic.com/ms-content/uploads/2023/08/youdontneedacrm.png" alt="YouDontNeedACRM" />
There’s nothing worse than finding yourself smothered under a ton of admin work on a Friday afternoon when you’re 2 sales away from hitting your target, and when your CRM process is standing between you and your $1k commission for the month – it doesn’t exactly instil feelings of goodwill.
However, since I’ve ‘switched sides’, I’ve seen just how important it is to have a quality CRM in place that’s both implemented and used correctly. When you duck out of sales for a while, you start to look at the long-term objectives of your business rather than your immediate goal of ‘hitting this week's target’.
Having experienced using a CRM system from both angles, I’m always on the look-out for a new tool that will cut down on admin for sales teams whilst also providing marketing teams with the customer information they need to do their jobs efficiently and effectively. After all, part of the marketing team's job is to generate inbound leads for sales. So it's a win-win when both parties are happy.
My internal CRM ‘sat nav’ recently brought me to the site for <a href="http://www.youdontneedacrm.com">You Don’t Need a CRM</a>. The company say that this system is designed for small businesses of up to 200 employees who want a ‘more proactive sales approach to turning leads into deals’.
<img src="https://cmscritic.com/ms-content/uploads/2023/08/screen-shot-2016-04-11-at-20_54_22.png" alt="Screen Shot 2016-04-11 at 20.54.22" />
To say I was intrigued is an understatement, so I decided to check it out. Read on for my review of the new ‘anti-CRM’ to see what this system is all about.
<h2>Getting Started</h2>
Getting set up with You Don’t Need A CRM is a fairly simple process and you have two options if you wish to participate in the free 15-day trial.
To sign up, users can share the site on social media, provide more details via email (if you don’t use social media), or enter credit card details for billing for after the 15-day period. I liked seeing this focus on lead generation from the get-go, as it showed that these guys don’t just talk the talk.
<img src="https://cmscritic.com/ms-content/uploads/2023/08/screen-shot-2016-04-11-at-18_30_47.png" alt="Screen Shot 2016-04-11 at 18.30.47" /> When you log-in, you’ll be greeted with an activity page that’s all about leads – no CRM extras included. There are regular webinars available if you need a hand with anything and the online tour is really useful also.
<h3>Managing Your Leads</h3>
To create a new lead, you can insert details manually, add a contact list, or scan in details via a website, business card, or email.
To test it out, I added details for a very important prospective customer.
<img src="https://cmscritic.com/ms-content/uploads/2023/08/screen-shot-2016-04-11-at-18_34_40.png" alt="Screen Shot 2016-04-11 at 18.34.40" />
The default lead stages are ‘Incoming’, ‘In-touch’, and ‘Closing’, and lead details are inserted in a textbox that’s extremely easy to use. It’s a far cry from having to fill in 20+ contact details in a standard CRM, that’s for sure. You can also tag your leads for sorting purposes which is pretty handy.
The ‘upload via business card’ feature is great and will especially appeal to sales reps who are out on the road. Users can simply send a scan of the business card to the supplied email and it will be added as a new lead.
To upload via excel or CSV, simply go to ‘Prospecting File’ on the dashboard, click on the ‘+’ sign, and you’ll be presented with this page where you can add a title, description, and tags for your new prospects list.
<img src="https://cmscritic.com/ms-content/uploads/2023/08/screen-shot-2016-04-11-at-19_47_47.png" alt="Screen Shot 2016-04-11 at 19.47.47" />
<h3>The To-Do List</h3>
You Don’t Need A CRM have streamlined the whole sales management process into a basic ‘To-do list’. Each lead goes into the ‘To-do’ list automatically and remains there until you add a reminder for your next action; once you’ve added a reminder, it moves into ‘Standby’.
From here, it can be moved into the next stages and there are default buckets that allow you to organize everything easily.
For example, the ‘Alive’ bucket includes all leads listed under ‘Standby’ and ‘To-do’.
<img src="https://cmscritic.com/ms-content/uploads/2023/08/screen-shot-2016-04-11-at-19_57_46.png" alt="Screen Shot 2016-04-11 at 19.57.46" />
<h3>Email Management</h3>
As I mentioned above, you can upload leads via email by scanning a business card; but it’s also possible to use email to keep track of conversations with those leads.
When you sign up, you’ll be given two custom email address – one for lead creation and one for lead tracking. To track your conversations via email, simply bcc the custom email address that’s provided.
<h3>Reporting Functionality</h3>
This isn’t great. Whilst the basic nature of everything else on this system seems to be a plus, the lack of in-depth reporting functionality will be a stumbling block for most businesses.
There are 3 main reports; ‘History’, ‘Won’, and ‘Future’ – and that’s it. There’s no other customization available and you can’t create your own reports. Whilst this may not be an issue for very small businesses, most companies will be used to a far more extensive reporting function.
<h3>Pricing</h3>
Pricing is really affordable at $19 per month for 1 user and an extra $7 per month for every other user. It’s definitely a solid option for the small business owner.
<h2>So, Do You Need A CRM?</h2>
In short, yes. Even if you don’t need an extensive CRM right now, you will need one eventually. However, You Don’t Need A CRM is a great stepping stone before moving on to a larger CRM, and it will appeal to small businesses with an immediate focus on lead generation and management.
This is a ‘love it or hate it’ kind of tool that will really suit the business owner who craves a little more simplicity in their CRM. It definitely won’t be a good fit for anyone looking for an extensive reporting tool, though.
In the long-term, I can see You Don’t Need A CRM taking off as a lead management tool to use alongside a more full-featured CRM. It would definitely compliment any of the top dog CRM systems really well.
Have you tried out You Don’t Need A CRM? Leave a comment below to let us know what you think!

Hands-on With "You Don't Need A CRM"

As you may know, the reason I chose to start the CMS Awards was to help give projects around the world that may not necessarily have a huge marketing budget, an opportunity to get noticed.My hope with the awards was that projects that won would feel energized, appreciated and that it would give them the pat on the back they deserve for all their hard work. We think everyone who develops content management systems should be given the chance to showcase it and gain recognition for their contribution to the industry.The best part of the People's Choice Awards is that the winners are chosen by our readers. Recently, Sageframe (a great .NET CMS) won <a href="/2014-best-open-source-net-cms/">Best .NET Open Source CMS</a> in the People's Choice CMS Awards and here is how they celebrated:<img src="https://cmscritic.com/ms-content/uploads/2023/08/10846102_10152906805673139_5563455122676357614_n.jpg" />Seeing this picture absolutely made my day.  These kind of great moments inspire us to keep on trucking with the Critic awards as it shows us all that not only is the community given a chance to give back in a way that obviously matters, they are also embracing it enthusiastically. I want to personally thank Sageframe for sharing this picture with me. It's good to know that they are sharing and celebrating their success.This folks, is why we do what we do here on CMS Critic. The awards are constantly evolving and we're always striving to do more but in the end, what matters is that those who win get to experience the joy of having created something special and for that, I'm eternally grateful.Cake. Matters.~Mike

This is why I started the CMS Awards

In a move that's bound to cause speculation in the social media world, Twitter, the popular micro-blogging site, has snapped up staff from an email marketing startup named RestEngine. While we're not 100% clear what exact services or products RestEngine offered, we did find this diagram on their site which might help clear things up for some people:
<img src="https://cmscritic.com/ms-content/uploads/2023/08/strikingly-1-1_ktc0m3.png" alt="product_vinn_diagram" />
According to a statement published on their site (RestEngine.com):
<blockquote>
We're very excited to announce that the RestEngine team is joining the Twitter flock! Just over two and half years ago we founded RestEngine to help social app publishers send targeted one-to-one emails based on a subscriber's social graph. It's been an incredible journey where we had the opportunity to work with some of the leading social app publishers. With our customers, we've iterated on our social marketing automation platform while defining a new set of best practices for this brand new world of outbound social marketing. We're thrilled to now focus our email skills and marketing automation know-how on a much larger scale at Twitter.
</blockquote>
What does this mean for Twitter? One can only guess but we're excited at the future prospects.

<img src="https://cmscritic.com/ms-content/uploads/2023/08/hosted-intranet-1.png" />
You’ve done the research and examined the vast benefits an intranet can bring to your company. You want to implement an intranet into your company. Fantastic! But that’s only the first decision. The next big decision is to decide where your intranet will be hosted. Meaning, do you want to host it in your building (in-house), or would you prefer to opt for an externally-hosted intranet, such as those hosted in the cloud?
If you’ve weighed up the options and compiled a well-researched pro/con list for each option but you’re still unable to come to a conclusion, we’re here to help! We’ve compiled a list of the five key benefits of an externally hosted intranet.
<h2>Budget Control</h2>
There are several factors that will contribute the overall cost of your intranet solution. This fact can seem daunting, especially when you’re working with a tight budget. You’ll be pleased to know that an externally hosted intranet is typically the cheaper of the two options.
<img src="https://cmscritic.com/ms-content/uploads/2023/08/server-maintenance.jpg" />If your company chooses to go down the internally-hosted intranet road, you’ll be up for some major expenses that need to be taken into consideration when you develop a budget. Most companies underestimate the costs required to get a specialist to design an intranet from scratch that is unique to their company. The initial costs can mount up, especially when you take the features and applications you want to include into consideration. And this is even before it has been implemented! After deployment, <a href="http://info-architecture.blogspot.co.nz/2014/10/intranet-manager-most-complex-job-in.html">maintenance and expansion</a> costs can eat away at your budget, as these can be erratic and unpredictable costs which are hard to factor into an annual budget.
On the other hand, there are significantly lower costs with an externally <a href="http://www.myhubintranet.com/about">hosted intranet</a>. Initially, your company will be charged a low fee to connect to the intranet and to gain permission to use it. From there you pay a simple monthly fee, which you can easily work into a budget, without any out of the blue surprises.
<h2>When Do You Need The Intranet? </h2>
Your company has already made the decision to implement an intranet and just like a kid wanting an ice cream on a hot summers day, you want it now! It’s only natural, once you discover the extensive<a href="https://www.nibusinessinfo.co.uk/content/benefits-intranet"> benefits</a> an intranet can bring to your company, to want to have a quick deployment.
If you’re after a quick deployment, an internally-hosted intranet may not be the best option for your company. The process to uniquely design the intranet, as well as develop features and applications your company wishes to include, is a time-consuming process. In contrast, a cloud-hosted intranet can take half the time, from decision to deployment. The time needed to create a hosted intranet is determined by how much available time you have in your schedule to devote to the development process, which involves selecting a basic template and then customising the template to meet the needs of the business. All going well, your intranet could be up and running within a few short weeks!
Another benefit of an externally-hosted intranet is that you don’t need to spend valuable time fixing the bugs and glitches or developing further expansion options. It’s as simple as contacting your intranet provider, such as MyHub, to request more space or make any necessary changes.
<h2>Who’s There To Help? </h2>
<img src="https://cmscritic.com/ms-content/uploads/2023/08/hosting-support.jpg" />When you create an intranet from scratch, the person you hire to complete this task will most likely be more than able to step in and come to your company’s rescue after deployment if any major bugs or glitches arise in the software. However, this person won’t always be available to help with any of the daily problems you may come across. Instead, you may need to hire a specialist to be on hand to maintain your intranet and deal with any challenges that may emerge.
By selecting an externally-hosted intranet, you are also selecting to have a support team behind you who are familiar with all the common challenges that can crop up throughout the day. Whether the issue is minor or major, the team is on hand to walk you through the process of solving the problem or provide you with valuable advice to keep your intranet running efficiently.
<h2>Securing Your Data</h2>
Having your data and confidential <a href="http://www.brighthub.com/computing/enterprise-security/articles/104796.aspx">information secure</a> is a top priority for companies. Luckily, when you choose an externally hosted intranet, the security is already handled. It’s common for providers to include multiple built-in layers of security to prevent unwanted eyes viewing your data. These layers also enable you to provide different employees and departments with differing levels of access to information. From the general material such as a company calendar, which can be accessed by all employees, to critical pieces of data such as cash flow statements, which you only want to be accessed by a select few employees, you can choose what people see.
<h2>Location Location Location </h2>
<img src="https://cmscritic.com/ms-content/uploads/2023/08/cloud-intranet.jpg" />
If you choose to go down the road of creating your own internally hosted intranet, you need to consider if you have a place to put it. Although an intranet is digital, the physical equipment associated to bring your intranet to life, such as server racks, require a designated space within your company’s premises. In addition to having physical equipment space, you also need to have resources within your IT department or hire additional employees to maintain and support the intranet. On the other hand, using an externally hosted intranet requires no additional physical space in your company’s office – a bonus when space is considered a luxury!
Additionally, a major benefit of having a company intranet is that you can access information on mobile devices no matter where you are. But what happens in the unfortunate event of a power cut? If your company has an externally-hosted intranet, employees will still have access to secure data on wireless devices – no matter what is happening in the physical office space
If you’re after more information about an externally-hosted intranet solution, or you’re ready to design one, <a href="https://www.myhubintranet.com/book-demo/">contact us</a> today! We’ll work with you to maximise all the benefits of a hosted intranet, build an effective tool that will help all your employees increase their productivity and maximise their communications standards. Your intranet is a valuable part of your business and it’s our mission to help you take full advantage of it.

Hannon Hill, creators of the Enterprise CMS <a href="http://www.hannonhill.com/" target="_blank">Cascade Server</a>, have announced today that Cascade Server 7.8 is now live and ready for users to begin upgrading to.
Cascade Server is a robust platform built from the ground up to help enterprising companies manage their websites in a professional, powerful manner. Recently, Cascade Server was nominated in the <a href="/2013-people-s-choice-winner-for-best-enterprise-cms/#.Uo83L8QvlyU" target="_blank">CMS Critic People's Choice Award for Best Enterprise CMS</a>.
With Cascade Server 7.8 now released, users can look forward to a host of changes, particularly in regards to the way they interact with their assets and information. With this update, Hannon Hill claim to have satisfied over 300 user votes from their <a href="http://ideas.hannonhill.com" target="_blank">user idea exchange</a>. So, let's take a look a what's new.
<h2>Relationships &amp; New Permissions Interface</h2>
Cascade Server 7.9 brings about control over relationships between assets, which was one of the most voted on ideas in the user idea exchange. Now, users of all roles can see how assets such as page link to and refer to each other.
All assets that link to a particular page can now be viewed quickly and easily, so finding out what will be affected by a change to that page in now a faster process.
<img src="https://cmscritic.com/ms-content/uploads/2023/08/relationships.png" alt="Cascade Server 7.8" />
Additionally, thanks to one-click publishing, users can quickly re-publish all assets which link to a particular page, even when they rename, modify or move it.
The update also brings about a completely revamped permission interface, which allows users to take advantage of type-ahead search to quickly locate users and groups, along with faster load times in implementations involving large numbers of users and groups.
<img src="https://cmscritic.com/ms-content/uploads/2023/08/permissions.png" alt="Cascade Server 7.8" />
Users can now also assign and unassign permissions for other individual users and groups for specific folders and its contained assets, all whilst preserving other existing permissions on other assets.
<h2>Saved History &amp; Assorted UI Improvements</h2>
Working in more than one place is now easier, thanks to all asset history now being maintained between sessions and browsers. This enables users to pick up where they left off whenever and wherever they log in. Additionally, when users log-in or switch between sites, the navigation on the left hand side will be expanded to the last folder they were working in on that particular site.
<img src="https://cmscritic.com/ms-content/uploads/2023/08/history.png" alt="Cascade Server 7.8" />
To top these updates off, Cascade Server 7.8 also introduces a number of UI improvements.
A new, more prominent version comments box has been designed to help remind users to use comments when submitting edits. Plus, the new smart version comments automatically populates the comments with a summary of which fields were changed.
There are also two new Data Definition field types, which are; an asset chooser field that allows you to select pages, files and external links, and a dropdown interface that supports user submitted values in addition to pre-determined values.
If you'd like to explore some of the features of Cascade Serve 7.8 further, check out the <a href="http://www.hannonhill.com/kb/Release-Notes/7.8/index.html" target="_blank">official release notes</a>.

Cascade Server 7.8 Launched

Not too long ago, <a href="/ghost-0.5-released-with-re-written-admin-ui-multi-user-support-more/" target="_blank">Ghost announced plans to release features on a (very) regular basis</a>. Now though, the youthful blogging platform has gone a step further, enabling users to test features still under construction.
Ghost is a relatively new and exciting blogging platform. Recently, it was crowned the <a href="/2014-most-promising-cms/" target="_blank">2014 Critics' Choice Award Winner for Most Promising CMS</a>.
This new feature has been given the name Ghost Labs.
<h2>Protective Eye Goggles Not Necessary</h2>
<img src="https://cmscritic.com/ms-content/uploads/2023/08/ghostlabs-1700x0.png" />
Essentially, Ghost Labs is a brand new settings page within Ghost which allows you to access bits of brand new and unreleased Ghost functionality.
John O'Nolan, the founder of Ghost, had this to say:
<blockquote>
“The intention is to get real people testing new features as early as possible so that we can get lots of feedback about how well it is (or isn't) working before we roll it out to everyone.”
</blockquote>
So, Ghost users can now access import and export features more easily (whereas previously these were hidden on a debug page), as well as some handy tools to reset content.
Ghost Pro users can start using Ghost Labs immediately. Users running Ghost on their own servers can jump into the digital lab by upgrading to <a href="https://ghost.org/download">Ghost 0.5.6</a>.
For more information on Ghost, <a href="https://ghost.org/" target="_blank">visit their website</a>.

Newly Released Ghost Labs Lets Users Test Unreleased Features

PackFlash specializes in developing modules for the web content management system DotNetNuke. Their impressive list of modules include: News &amp; Blogs, Video, Image Gallary, Slideshow, Events, Mega Menu, Comments, Friendly URLs, and Events.
<img src="https://cmscritic.com/ms-content/uploads/2023/08/hvknm5t_iywijv.jpg" alt="PackFlash-modules" />
While these modules and the functionality they bring are very desirable to any CMS, where PackFlash really shines is how they bring these together in their Constellation Suite. This suite takes these 8 modules and tightly integrates them together. The result is a seamless flow of functionality. In their own words “Constellation is one system to manage all content.”
<img src="https://cmscritic.com/ms-content/uploads/2023/08/s81pelg_lu0yhi.jpg" alt="PackFlash-Constellation" />
<h3>What is new with Constellation?</h3>
A couple new features recently added to the Constellation Suite are the ability to share data between sites/portals and automatic detection of duplicate content and assignment of canonical URL. Wow! Those words sound so nice, but what are you talking about? Lets take these features one at a time.
<h4>Data Sharing Between Sites</h4>
“Why oh why would I want to share content between websites?” Pretend for a moment that you built your site to look beautiful only on your typical browser. You did not have the foresight to make it mobile friendly so all those many thousands of tablet and smartphone users have to zoom and scroll or send your articles to a Read It Later app to keep from squinting. So, being the smart person you are, you make a mobile version of your site. Wouldn't it be nice to “share” the content from your regular site to your mobile friendly site? Wow! That would be great! That is just one example of what this “sharing” feature will allow.
<blockquote>“When shared, the content is treated like it is part of the new site instead of taking the user back to the original website. This is to make sure that the shared data doesn’t take the user off the site that they are currently browsing, prioritizing engagement on the existing site. Administrators that have permission to see all of the sites are allowed to choose what websites can share data with each other, while website administrators have the ability to decide when to use the data from another website on their particular website pages.”</blockquote>
<h4>Duplicate Content Detection</h4>
The problem that may arise is duplicate content with all this sharing going on. PackFlash has this issue covered with the update to their Friendly URLs module.
<blockquote>“Version 3.2 of the PackFlash Constellation DNN Modules also offers significant functionality upgrades to the Friendly URLs Module to support the multi-site portal data sharing. This functionality includes automatic detection of duplicate content and management of the canonical version of the URL across all of the websites that are sharing content. This will provide comfort to the website owners that they will not realize a search engine penalty that might arise from duplicate content across their web properties.”</blockquote>
Sharing content across different sites can come in to play also when a company wants to aggregate content from child sites to a parent site. Example: Newspaper main site with content shared from multiple child sites (op-ed, sports, news, etc).
<h4>Benefits</h4>
Time savings come to mind right away when thinking of the benefits of this functionality. Really anything that makes content management easier bring multiple benefits.
<blockquote>“‘Multi-site data sharing is a huge time-saver and greatly improves coordination for mobile site and micro-site development that leverages existing content. Any website that wants a quick way to leverage all of their content on a mobile site would immediately benefit from this approach. This is particularly true for any organization that plans to use DotNetNuke’s new mobile features in DNN 6.1+.' claims CEO of PackFlash, Chris Risner.”
“Other improvements to the Constellation software include improved preview capabilities that follow the page/template hierarchy rules of the system, image resizing options for “best fit”, provided ability to specify a 404 error page per website rather, as well as many others.”</blockquote>

The free Java CMS space isn't an easy one to stand out in.
Blockbuster platforms such as Magnolia, Hippo, Liferay and DotCMS (to name a few) dominate this area of the CMS market. <a href="/2014-best-free-java-cms/" target="_blank">The people had their say on the subject</a>, and now the judges have weighed in, too. Here's the verdict.

<a href="http://www.onehippo.com/" target="_blank">Hippo CMS</a> has grown aplenty during 2014, particularly with the release of Hippo 7.9. In fact, we here at CMS Critic got to see some of that progress for ourselves when we <a href="/looking-back-on-the-hippo-get-together-2014/" target="_blank">attended the 2014 Hippo Get Together in Amsterdam</a>. We learnt about their passion for not just their product, but for the open source community as a whole. Their <a href="/how-open-source-software-transformed-a-nations-police-force/" target="_blank">work with the Dutch Police Force</a> is a testament to that.
Recently, Hippo was also crowned the <a href="/2014-best-enterprise-java-cms/" target="_blank">2014 People's Choice Winner for Best Enterprise Java CMS</a>.
Congratulations to everybody at Hippo!

2014 Critics' Choice Award Winner - Best Free Java CMS

It took me quite a long time to finally figure this out but thanks to some handy guides out there (and some people that are clearly smarter than me) I did.
My issue was that text in fields was barely visible:
<img src="https://cmscritic.com/ms-content/uploads/2023/08/how_to_fix_dark_theme_issues_with_firefox_in_linux.png" />
To fix this, in your home folder, navigate to:
<code>~/.mozilla/firefox/&lt;profile directory&gt;/</code>
Note: the profile directory will usually be a random set of letters and numbers such as zee4bhai.default or similar. Enter this directory and check to see if you have a /chrome folder. If not, create it with mkdir chrome and enter it.
Now create a new file called userContent.css like so (subbing out your preferred editor of course):
<code>nano userContent.css</code>
Paste the following into the file and save:
<pre><code>input { border: 2px inset white; background-color: white; color: black; -moz-appearance: none !important;}textarea { border: 2px inset white; background-color: white; color: black; -moz-appearance: none !important;}select { border: 2px inset white; background-color: white; color: black; -moz-appearance: none !important;}input[type="radio"],input[type="checkbox"] { border: 2px inset white ! important; background-color: white ! important; color: ThreeDFace ! important; -moz-appearance: none !important;}*|*::-moz-radio { background-color: white; -moz-appearance: none !important;}button,input[type="reset"],input[type="button"],input[type="submit"] { border: 2px outset white; background-color: #eeeeee; color: black; -moz-appearance: none !important;}body { background-color: white; color: black; display: block; margin: 8px; -moz-appearance: none !important;}</code></pre>
Now restart Firefox and you should be good to go!
Happy browsing!
Mike
