<a href="http://www.kajona.de/" target="_blank">Kajona</a>, the PHP5 based content management framework, has just released version 4.6.
This new Kajona release introduces simplified workflows — particularly for the portal editor. Also, many modules which are vital for building the foundation of Kajona have been modernized and enriched with new functionality.
Here are some highlights of Kajona 4.6.
<h2>Improved Installer &amp; Revamped Editor</h2>

Both of Kajona's installer and backend-skin are based on Twitters' Bootstrap, but now their installer is the first component to be fully updated to Bootstrap 3. While updating the installer, they removed some redundant options, making installation a lot smoother and faster than before.
Also, now with Kajona 4.6, an autocomplete-supported input box helps to find and to select the desired page even faster when creating or changing a link using the integrated WYSIWYG editor.

When working with the portal editor, operations like creating, editing or deleting elements on a page is now integrated more seamlessly. Plus, these changes are reflected immediately, without the need to reload the page. Obviously, this speeds up the maintenance of websites significantly.
Other modules, like news, search, and charts have also received updates. The Kajona system and framework has also been tweaked for better performance.

Jahia Launches Forms Factory

Pikock Releases New Smart Blocks Editor

As usual, WordPress have named their latest release after yet another Jazz star. This time, it's <a href="http://wikipedia.org/wiki/Dinah_Washington">Dinah Washington</a>. Oh, and it's available for download via your WordPress dashboard, too.
I covered much of what's new when WordPress released their <a href="/first-beta-released-for-wordpress-4.1/" target="_blank">first beta for version 4.1</a>, but it won't hurt to recap, because there has been a couple of new features thrown in since that first beta.
<h2>Twenty Fifteen &amp; Distraction Free Writing</h2>
As mentioned in my previous coverage of WordPress 4.1, Twenty Fifteen, is perhaps the first default WordPress theme ever which doesn't make me want to immediately swap it out for a third party solution. It actually looks pretty darn good.

There's also a brand new (and productive) way to write.
When you turn on “distraction-free writing mode”, all distractions outside the editor will fade away as you begin typing. But don't worry, all your editing tools instantly return when you need them. I'm personally eager to try this out.

<h2>Vine Embedding, Plugin Recommendations &amp; More</h2>
On top of the two core features above, here's what else WordPress 4.1 has to offer:

<li>Choose a language: Right now, WordPress 4.1 is already translated into over forty languages, with more always in progress. You can switch to any translation on the General Settings screen.</li>
<li>Log out everywhere: If you’ve ever worried you forgot to sign out from a shared computer, you can now go to your profile and log out everywhere.</li>
<li>Vine embedding: Embedding videos from Vine is as simple as pasting a URL onto its own line in a post. See the <a href="https://codex.wordpress.org/Embeds">full list</a> of supported embeds.</li>
<li>Plugin recommendations: The plugin installer suggests plugins for you to try. Recommendations are based on the plugins you and other users have installed.</li>

TYPO3 has released a new version of its latest product, <a href="http://neos.typo3.org/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Neos</a>.
Just a few days after the <a href="https://www.cmscritic.com/faster-cleaner-typo3-cms-7-released/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">release of TYPO3 CMS 7</a>, the Swiss platform's community has come together to release of Neos 1.2.
Neos' newly implemented functions will help make the everyday work of editors and developers much easier. For example, the Open Source Content Management System (CMS) can now be operated a lot more intuitively.
<h2>Improvements for Editors &amp; Developers</h2>
Neos 1.2 is geared toward the needs and wishes of editors and developers, no matter whether they use a PC or a tablet. The perspective of the target audience can also be understood at all times because all contents can be viewed and worked on in a channel-specific manner.
As with the previous versions, Neos relies on working on the contents directly inside the display, therefore the editor is immediately able to see all of the changes that have been made in the corrected layout. The many minor and major improvements that have been made to the working environment for the content manager, which together define a new standard for quality in this main area of digital marketing are new in version 1.2.
Here's what editors can expect to benefit from:

The free Java CMS space isn't an easy one to stand out in. 
Blockbuster platforms such as Magnolia, Hippo, Liferay and DotCMS (to name a few) dominate this area of the CMS market. <a href="/2014-best-free-java-cms/" target="_blank">The people had their say on the subject</a>, and now the judges have weighed in, too. Here's the verdict.

<a href="http://www.onehippo.com/" target="_blank">Hippo CMS</a> has grown aplenty during 2014, particularly with the release of Hippo 7.9. In fact, we here at CMS Critic got to see some of that progress for ourselves when we <a href="/looking-back-on-the-hippo-get-together-2014/" target="_blank">attended the 2014 Hippo Get Together in Amsterdam</a>. We learnt about their passion for not just their product, but for the open source community as a whole. Their <a href="/how-open-source-software-transformed-a-nations-police-force/" target="_blank">work with the Dutch Police Force</a> is a testament to that.
Recently, Hippo was also crowned the <a href="/2014-best-enterprise-java-cms/" target="_blank">2014 People's Choice Winner for Best Enterprise Java CMS</a>.

2014 Critics' Choice Award Winner - Best Free Java CMS

Not too long ago, <a href="/ghost-0.5-released-with-re-written-admin-ui-multi-user-support-more/" target="_blank">Ghost announced plans to release features on a (very) regular basis</a>. Now though, the youthful blogging platform has gone a step further, enabling users to test features still under construction. 
Ghost is a relatively new and exciting blogging platform. Recently, it was crowned the <a href="/2014-most-promising-cms/" target="_blank">2014 Critics' Choice Award Winner for Most Promising CMS</a>.
This new feature has been given the name Ghost Labs. 
<h2>Protective Eye Goggles Not Necessary</h2>

Essentially, Ghost Labs is a brand new settings page within Ghost which allows you to access bits of brand new and unreleased Ghost functionality.
John O'Nolan, the founder of Ghost, had this to say:

“The intention is to get real people testing new features as early as possible so that we can get lots of feedback about how well it is (or isn't) working before we roll it out to everyone.”
</blockquote>
So, Ghost users can now access import and export features more easily (whereas previously these were hidden on a debug page), as well as some handy tools to reset content.
Ghost Pro users can start using Ghost Labs immediately. Users running Ghost on their own servers can jump into the digital lab by upgrading to <a href="https://ghost.org/download">Ghost 0.5.6</a>.

As you may know, the reason I chose to start the CMS Awards was to help give projects around the world that may not necessarily have a huge marketing budget, an opportunity to get noticed.My hope with the awards was that projects that won would feel energized, appreciated and that it would give them the pat on the back they deserve for all their hard work. We think everyone who develops content management systems should be given the chance to showcase it and gain recognition for their contribution to the industry.The best part of the People's Choice Awards is that the winners are chosen by our readers. Today we're unveiling yet another Critics' Choice Award Winner. This time, its for the Best Cloud CMS For Enterprise. 
When it came down to it, Acquia, Clickability and CrownPeak were all slugging it out for both the People's Choice, and the Critics' Choice award for 2014. All three are great products, but it goes without saying that there can only be one winner.
