Strapi, a leading open-source headless CMS, has announced the release of Strapi v3.6, which includes a highly anticipated content internationalization (i18n) feature as part of their Community Edition. Now, Strapi users will have the ability to create and manage content in multiple languages and locales for free and without limitations – and personalize messages delivered to target audiences based on language and geographic data.
Leveraging integrations with Strapi's draft and publish system and role-based access control, users will be able to manage their editing and publishing permissions based on specific locales. Updates to their API will also enable managers to fetch content based on location parameters.
In our exclusive discussion with <a href="https://www.linkedin.com/in/victorcoisne/">Victor Coisne</a>, Strapi's Vice President of Marketing, it's clear that internationalization was a big part of the CMS vendor's roadmap, and of significant importance to their growing base of global users. According to Coisne, there was deep internal discussion about whether Strapi would monetize this feature as other CMS platforms do. Offering free usage is a bold move, and illustrates a strong commitment to their community. 
Recently at <a href="https://conf.strapi.io/">StrapiConf</a>, the company also shared a preview of their upcoming Strapi v4 that is currently under development, and according to Coisne should be released around August. This new version will include an updated design system and core APIs that allow the broader ecosystem to easily create and maintain new plugins.
<h2>Evolving headless CMS capabilities</h2>
With more than 35,000 stars on GitHub, 600 contributors, and 3.5 million+ downloads, Strapi is the fastest-growing <a href="https://nodejs.org/en/">Node.js</a> CMS. Only nine months after the release of its <a href="https://strapi.io/enterprise">Enterprise Edition</a>, the company is seeing significant revenue growth, tripling customer count in Q1 2021 with Global 2000 companies including Rakuten, AECOM, Toyota, and eBay.

<h2>Create multilingual websites or apps</h2>
As noted, Strapi's internationalization will enable users to create and manage content in multiple languages and for multiple locales. A locale may represent not only a language, but also a country to which the exact version of content is related (for example, "en-GB" for English language and Great Britain, or "fr-CA" for French and Canada). This added nuance can hyper-focus the content accuracy of a website or app, allowing organizations to better engage with the right audiences.  
<h2>Personalize and localize content</h2>
Content internationalization is more than just translating text. It’s about customizing messages to target audiences, taking into account their language and geographic location. With Strapi's internationalization, content is displayed for each locale based on content types. For example, if a company has an e-commerce website, they can select which product pages are displayed in French, Portuguese, or Mandarin. This level of localization is what enables a global digital strategy to work across borders and languages. 
<h2>Set up efficient publishing workflows</h2>
Managing multiple languages in one admin panel may sound like a challenging task, but Strapi has addressed it head-on. Below are some of the key attributes that make Strapi's internationalization ideal for content operations teams:

<li>Browse content by locales: In the list view, users can see all the content of one locale and easily switch between locales to see all related entries. For example, when opening a list of articles on a website, a user will only see the entries in English and can switch between locales to see the entries in other languages.</li>

When editing content (for example, a particular article on a website or a product page), users can also switch between different locales and automatically copy and paste content from one locale to another without opening multiple tabs.

<li>Choose what locale should be displayed first: With Strapi, users can set up a default locale, which will be displayed whenever they add content to a new content type or open the list of entries. Having a default locale makes it more comfortable to create and edit content. </li>

<li>Keep specific content the same for all locales: If some of the content on a website or app needs to be the same – regardless of language – users can disable localization for any field or content type. This way, when creating a new version, the non-localized fields will already contain content. When editing the entries of non-localized fields, they will automatically be updated in all locales. This can save a lot of time when making updates or adding new versions. </li>
<li>Collaborate effectively with granular permissions: Users can also add granular CRUD (Create, Read, Update, Delete) permissions for each locale to different roles and users, including translators, content editors, marketers, or country managers. Since internationalization is integrated with Strapi's <a href="https://strapi.io/blog/announcing-a-new-draft-and-publish-feature">Draft &amp; Publish system</a>, administrators will have full control of who can access, modify, and publish entries in different locales – making the whole process secure and efficient. </li>

<h2>API updates</h2>
As mentioned, Strapi has updated its API to fetch content by locale. A localizations field is added to every content type when the internationalization feature is activated, so if a developer creates an entry from the API, it’s now possible to specify the locale for which an entry should be created – or create new locales from an existing entry.

Since Strapi's content internationalization is a plugin, users will need to enable it in settings after updating to v3.6. Once activated, all existing content will be associated with the default locale that a user sets (which starts as English but can easily be modified). The keynote kicked off  today and the General Session opened with an impressive show of lights, video and music. Opening the keynote was Senior Vice President &amp; General Manager, Brad Rencher, who took us through the various announcements of the day and showcased some of the unique ways Adobe is helping to shape the world of marketing.

One of the products showcased was <a href="/adobe-introduces-adobe-social-one-product-for-ad-buying-analytics-publishing-and-social-media-monitoring/">Adobe Social</a>, (part of their Digital Marketing Suite) which combines social publishing and engagement with monitoring, social ad buying and analytics that can help marketers attribute social activities with results for their businesses.
Additionally, Adobe announced a number of new updates and functionality to their digital marketing suite such as:

<li>New predictive marketing capabilities within their Digital Marketing Suite which allows marketers to uncover behavioral patterns in data which, in turn, allows them to sort through a huge amount of data and find /leverage it to predict future results.</li>
<li><a href="/adobe-cq-5-5-now-available-integrated-with-digital-marketing-suite-to-build-brand-and-drive-demand/">Updates to their Web Experience Management solution</a>, at the heart of which is CQ5.5, the company's web content management software. New functionality has been added to the system which allows for deeper integration with several other products in their digital marketing suite such as Scene7, Search&amp;Promote and SiteCatalyst.</li>

As someone who is in the business of marketing and publishing content, I couldn't help but think of how incredibly far along the world of digital publishing has come. Adobe has really brought some game changing innovations to the table with these new products and it's going to be incredible to be able to watch the marketing landscape change. Their products bring an immense amount of power to the hands of CMO's around the globe and enable interaction with the customer in ways that I've not seen in any other products to date.
I'll be speaking with Kevin Cochrane of Adobe tomorrow in a one on one to get more details into how CQ5.5 will tie together with these amazing products and the advancements that it brings to the world of WCM, so stay tuned.

Adobe kicks off the Digital Marketing Summit in Style

Many businesses seem to lump email marketing and marketing automation into the same boat, without actually differentiating the two. Both systems allow you to market your product/services via email, both allow you to capture leads and onboard new customers, and both include the word ‘marketing’. 
So what is the difference between Email Marketing and Marketing Automation – and is there one at all?

<h2>Unique Web-Performance Technology</h2>
In a constantly evolving world of web-technology, where users and platforms rely more heavily upon cloud services and mobile devices, CDNs are stuggling to serve highly dynamic web applications.

In this latest iteration the system has been expanded to leverage Instart Logic’s transparent client-side virtualization layer, the NanoVisor™, to allow use with even completely personalized HTML code.</li>

Instart Logic Launches New Web Acceleration Service for SaaS Providers‏

<a href="https://umbraco.com" target="_blank">Umbraco</a> has released its second Beta for version 7.2, edging closer to its final release.
The free, open-source, .NET CMS is widely used and respected as a solid solution for small as well as enterprise-level projects. Umbraco 7.2 will introduce a range of new features including a new datatype called “Grid”, previews for forms and content across devices, and more. <a href="http://stream.umbraco.org/video/9918428/umbraco-codegarden-14-keynote" target="_blank">Umbraco presented a keynote at Codegarden 2014</a> detailing each new feature, and you can also read more about them <a href="http://umbraco.com/follow-us/blog-archive/2014/10/28/umbraco-720-beta-out-now" target="_blank">via their blog</a>.
Umbraco 7.1 was released back in April 2014, and it looks like there's a small chance of seeing Umbraco 7.2 before the year is out. Or, certainly in early 2015. Here's a look at what the current Beta 2 brings.
<h2>Grid Improvements &amp; Content Type Compositions</h2>
The Umbraco development team have acted on the feedback from Beta 1, coming from users, partners and developers. According to them, they're on course to making the Grid property editor much more flexible and usable in realistic scenarios.
As a result, Umbraco 7.2 Beta 2 testers can now define settings and css properties, which editors can assign to grid elements, using a simple user interface.

It allows you to apply class names, backgrounds, colors or html data-* attributes to your grid, to allow for much more detailed control of how it renders and behaves.

It is all controlled by the people implementing the site, so editors cannot put whatever styling or attribute on the grid – it's all about tailoring the grid editing experience as part of designing your site.
As far as Compositions are concerned, Umbraco have admitted that they have work still to do, urging users to provide feedback and keep track of their progress via the issue tracker which can <a href="http://issues.umbraco.org/issue/U4-5769" target="_blank">found here</a>.
Umbraco has stated that they plan on releasing “at least” one more beta before the Final 7.2 is out.

But that's not to imply that Pagekit is untried or untested. In fact, Pagekit has been in development for over two years, attracting over 2,400 Github Stargazers and 20,000 registered website users in the process.
So even on day one, their community is thriving.
Let's take a look at why so many people were interested in Pagekit even before its launch.

Pagekit is open source, and they're eager to get more developers involved in their growing project.
Their extensions and themes total to eighteen at this moment in time, and they can all be found on the <a href="https://pagekit.com/marketplace/">Pagekit Marketplace</a>. Naturally, they want that number to increase dramatically.
To help get developers started, Pagekit has made “<a href="https://pagekit.com/marketplace/package/pagekit/theme-hello">Hello theme</a>” and “<a href="https://pagekit.com/marketplace/package/pagekit/hello">Hello extension</a>” available, to be used as blueprints. I'm always excited by the launch of a new and ambitious platform. And Pagekit seems to be just that.

Nuxeo Releases a Major Version of the Nuxeo Platform

There aren't normally a large number of sites providing premium Drupal themes, but we felt that we should help showcase some on a monthly basis in hopes that the number of participating sites increases. We personally feel there is a strong market for them and we'd love to see more advanced themes than the normal ones released on Drupal.org daily.

Squarespace really stands out when it comes to its blogging platform. Unlike many other website builders, Squarespace allows its users to have as many blogs as they want on their website. Users can even add a drop-down menu (depending on the template) to their navigational bar, so as to not have things looking cluttered and chaotic.
Overall, the blogging aspect of Squarespace is a good one. However, there are some things that pose an issue.
