—– Website Building with BlueHost &amp; WordPress
A web hosting provider should give you more than just web hosting.
Uptime, speed, and customer support are all important, but what about the tools you need to kick-start a new website? After all, your new website idea is precisely why you needed a web host in the first place.
Starting from just $4.95 per month, BlueHost – CMS Critic’s <a href="/bluehosts-4th-july-sale-professional-web-hosting-for-just-3.95-per-month/" target="_blank">web host of choice</a> – is a hosting provider which gives you those tools in the form of quality content management systems and website builders. Fifty-five of them in fact.
The best part? They can all be installed on your domain name within minutes. Maybe even seconds.
Here are some quick guides on how to do that with WordPress, <a href="https://www.weebly.com/">Weebly</a>, and GoMobi Mobile, along with a look at the easy installation for the other fifty-two CMS that work so seamlessly with BlueHost.
<img style="max-width:151px" src="https://cmscritic.com/ms-content/uploads/2023/08/download.jpg" alt="BlueHost" />
<h2>Website Building with BlueHost &amp; WordPress</h2>
With BlueHost, your website can be up and running on the worlds most popular CMS/blogging platform – WordPress.
WordPress is used by over 60% of all the websites whose content management system we know. That's over 22% of all websites on the Internet. So, your website would be in good company if you decide to go with WordPress as your platform of choice.
After signing up with Bluehost, you'll have access to your hosting control panel. There, you’ll see WordPress listed under “Website Builders”.
<img src="https://cmscritic.com/ms-content/uploads/2023/08/wp700x0.png" alt="Bluehost WordPress" />
Selecting WordPress will bring you to a new page, where you can click the “Install” button.
<img src="https://cmscritic.com/ms-content/uploads/2023/08/wp1700x0.png" alt="Bluehost WordPress" />
Then, it's time to select which domain name you want BlueHost to install WordPress on. You can choose from any domain name on your BlueHost account.
<img src="https://cmscritic.com/ms-content/uploads/2023/08/wp2700x0.png" alt="Bluehost WordPress" />
Finally, you will then have the chance to fill out some of the details of your new website, like the website name and tag line. These fields are all optional though, so if you like, you can go ahead and click “Install” straight away.
<img src="https://cmscritic.com/ms-content/uploads/2023/08/w3.png" alt="Bluehost WordPress" />
After that, all you need to do is sit back and relax for a few seconds as BlueHost builds the WordPress website for you. Before long, you will be prompted to visit your website, which will now be running WordPress, enabling you to dive into the world's most popular website building platform.

—– Website Building with BlueHost &amp; <a href="https://www.weebly.com/">Weebly</a>
Don't worry if WordPress doesn't float your boat, because <a href="https://www.weebly.com/" target="_blank"> Weebly</a> is one of many other website builders supported by BlueHost.
Weebly is renowned for its friendly user interface and drag-and-drop page builder. It powers millions of websites across the web.
Weebly is actually a hosted website builder, which means you can use Weebly as a web host when you sign up with them. However, if you're running multiple websites on BlueHost's shared hosting plan, or you simply want the added functionalists that BlueHost brings, you can opt for BlueHost instead of Weebly to host your Weebly website.
After signing up with Bluehost, you'll have access to your hosting control panel. There, you’ll see Weebly listed under “Website Builders”.
<img src="https://cmscritic.com/ms-content/uploads/2023/08/web1700x0.png" alt="BlueHost Weebly" />
This will take you to the Weebly plan selection page. You can choose between the free, professional and eCommerce plans. To get started with the free plan, you only need to assign it to one of your existing domain names.
Then, you simply click “Use Weebly”.
<img src="https://cmscritic.com/ms-content/uploads/2023/08/web2700x0.png" alt="BlueHost Weebly" />
You will then be presented with the Weebly user interface, which allows you to immediately start building pages for your website. It's that easy.
<img src="https://cmscritic.com/ms-content/uploads/2023/08/web3700x0.png" alt="BlueHost Weebly" />
—– Website Building with BlueHost &amp; GoMobi
The last of the “big three” website building platforms which BlueHost displays to its users within their control panels, is GoMobi.
GoMobi is an easy-to-use mobile website platform that enables you to create premium mobile websites. Its friendly interface makes it easy to create feature-rich mobile websites that are quick to load and easy to use. Plus, you need no technical knowledge to make it work.
As with WordPress and Weebly, you'll be able to see GoMobi via your hosting control panel after signing up with Bluehost. You can find it listed under “Website Builders”.
<img src="https://cmscritic.com/ms-content/uploads/2023/08/mob1700x0.png" alt="BlueHost GoMobi" />
You will then be taken to a page asking you to agree to GoMobi's terms and conditions. GoMobi will set you back $2.99 per month. If you're happy with that, you can go ahead and click “Get Started”.
<img src="https://cmscritic.com/ms-content/uploads/2023/08/mob2.png" alt="BlueHost GoMobi" />
This brings you to the checkout page, where you will need to follow the instructions in order to complete the purchase.
To cut a long story short, you'll end up with your GoMoi control panel as seen below, ready for you to start building a mobile website.
<img src="https://cmscritic.com/ms-content/uploads/2023/08/mob4700x0.png" alt="BlueHost GoMobi" />
GoMobi is certainly not the fanciest platform on the market, but it's one that BlueHost pushed alongside WordPress and Weebly on the front page of its control panel. But there's plenty more where they came from, as I'm about to show you.
—– The Full List: 55 Integrated BlueHost Website Builders

55 Ways to Build a Website with BlueHost

<a href="https://www.jotform.com/">JotForm</a>, a popular web form building tool, announced the release of its new form builder today — JotForm 4.0. In the company’s first major update since 2010, JotForm 4.0 now offers the first fully functional online form builder that works on a mobile device. Every element you need to create any type of form — from basic address and name fields, to payment processing integrations — can be created using your phone or tablet. Plus, there are a number of other significant upgrades as well.
<img src="https://cmscritic.com/ms-content/uploads/2023/08/jotform1.png" />
Advanced Features for Simplified Form Building
JotForm 4.0 features handy offline capability in case you lose internet connection while editing a form. When your device reconnects to the internet, all of the changes you made to your form are saved automatically — greatly reducing the headache of losing your work if there’s no wifi or cell signal available.
The new version also features the ability to simultaneously collaborate and edit a form with members of your team. As workplaces go global and remote, being able to work on complex forms with colleagues at the same time means getting great forms produced faster than ever.
But the most obvious change users will notice in JotForm 4.0 is the modern interface. It’s a significant upgrade in aesthetics from the previous version. Popular, but previously difficult-to-find features and widgets can now be found right at users’ fingertips.
JotForm has been a major player in the online form building space since they were founded in 2006, but 4.0 shows significant improvement. The tool, which requires zero technical skill, is commonly used for forms of all types, such as collecting applications, processing payments and donations, registering event guests, and for generating business leads.

JotForm 4.0 Takes Building Web Forms to Mobile Devices, Offline

Content Management Systems have seen some huge changes recently to allow for advancements in technology. The development and continued improvements of various devices like smartphones, smartwatches, Internet of Things devices, virtual reality, augmented reality, and any other content displaying devices mean that the need for on-demand content is growing at a phenomenal rate. How do you do it?
<h2>Content Management Systems</h2>
A typical CMS allows you to create and store content, be it text, image, video, or more, and display that content on a website, even with limited web programming knowledge. These CMSs were built for on-premise deployment and work fantastically. But, the need for higher scalability and agility has led people to start looking at deploying their CMS to the cloud. It is not unusual for many CMS platform providers just to take their CMS and deploy it to cloud hosting services like Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure. In fact, back in 2011, Kentico was the first CMS certified for Microsoft Azure, while in 2013, we launched the first .NET-based digital experience platform provided as a cloud service. But we had to discontinue the service a year later. Why? Because our customers rightly expected that we would run and maintain everything, but we just couldn’t meet their needs.
Although Kentico CMS worked in the cloud, it wasn’t specifically designed to do so. It wasn’t a true cloud service. The problem was that we needed to manage each installation manually, which we just couldn’t do. We couldn’t facilitate thousands of customers because we just didn’t have enough people to do it. And even if we did, the customers expected a flexible and self-sufficient environment, which this was not. We aimed for Software as a Service (SaaS) but ended up just providing managed hosting.
<h2>Time to Rethink the Whole Service</h2>
It was clear that running Kentico CMS in the cloud just wasn’t going to work as we wanted. We had to figure out what the biggest obstacles were and how we could get past them. We realized that before you could ever start working on your website within a traditional CMS, whether on-premise or in the cloud, you had to…
<ul>
<li>Configure a web server.</li>
<li>Install the CMS.</li>
<li>Take care of hotfixes, upgrades, backup, security, and performance.</li>
</ul>
It is a headache that people just don’t want.
<img src="https://cmscritic.com/ms-content/uploads/2023/08/artboard_1.png" />
<h2>Managed Hosting Is Not the Answer</h2>
In the search for answers to your CMS headaches, you might find many CMS vendors that will tell you they offer a CMS in the cloud and will take care of all the maintenance for you. Your first reaction is probably “Wow, they just take care of everything for us!” But is it going to give you the flexibility you need? More than likely, not. Whenever the code changes, you will normally have to ask the vendor to deploy the changes to your production environment.
<img src="https://cmscritic.com/ms-content/uploads/2023/08/artboard_2.png" />
<h2>Platform as a Service: Closer, but Not Close Enough</h2>
The next concept is to provide a CMS as Platform as a Service (PaaS). PaaS offerings, unlike managed hosting, provide a much better self-service option for configuration and deployment through highly automated environments. But this model comes with many limitations as a result of standardized configurations:
<ul>
<li>Some plugins may not be available.</li>
<li>Certain customization options don’t work.</li>
<li>You have limited control over the hosting environment.</li>
<li>You need to continue to test your website after upgrades and hotfixes to ensure it is working correctly.</li>
</ul>
It means that PaaS still misses the elegance and efficiency you would expect from a true cloud service.
<img src="https://cmscritic.com/ms-content/uploads/2023/08/artboard_3.png" />
<h2>What about the Software as a Service (SaaS) model?</h2>
So you have probably heard of “SaaS CMSs” such as Wix, Squarespace, or WordPress.com. The problem is that these website builders offer limited flexibility in design, and you won't be able to run any custom code. They really are a great choice for a template-based site for a simple mom-and-pop store, but will fall very short on delivering a custom-built website.
<h2>Cloud-first Headless CMS—the Answer You’ve All Been Searching For</h2>
Finally, a model combining the benefits of SaaS with the presentation-layer flexibility you’ve been dying for—a cloud-first CMS utilizing the headless architecture.
A “cloud-first CMS” is built from scratch with the cloud in mind. Run as a true multi-tenant SaaS CMS, all customers use the same version of the CMS while the vendor only needs to manage one uniform environment. This small detail makes all the difference in efficiency for both the vendor and the clients.
Add to that the headless architecture, which separates the concerns of the vendor (running the CMS) from those of the client (the development of websites and mobile apps that consume content) and you get the possibility of simply using an API to display the content anywhere you want.
<img src="https://cmscritic.com/ms-content/uploads/2023/08/cloud-first-headless-cms890x0-is.png" />In the fast-paced, multi-channel world of today, the cloud-first headless CMS is the best option for creating websites and managing content for a multitude of devices and platforms. That's why we created <a href="http://www.kenticocloud.com">Kentico Cloud</a>, the cloud-first headless CMS for digital agencies and their clients. Try it for yourself to see why you should be thinking about cloud and the headless approach for your next project!

Cloud-first CMS Is Not Just a CMS in the Cloud

<a href="https://www.shopify.com/" target="_blank"> Shopify</a> has partnered up with Pinterest and Coinbase to bring their users Rich Pins and a new way to accept Bitcoins as payment.
As one of the world's leading eCommerce solutions, Shopify has a wealth of features ranging from a user-friendly interface to physical store Point of Sale (POS) systems.
These two new features have been announced just days apart, making it a pretty good week for Shopify users who make use of Pinterest and Bitcoin. Here's a deeper look at each update.
<h2>Snazzy Pinterest Rich Pins</h2>
<a href="/shopify" target="_blank"> <img src="https://cmscritic.com/ms-content/uploads/2023/08/feature_f0825095-06fc-4ccc-8d2b-8220bfe8bf29700x0.jpg" alt="Shopify" /> </a>
<a href="http://business.pinterest.com/en/rich-pins" target="_blank"> Pinterest Rich Pins</a> are enhanced Pinterest Pins that contain additional information within the Pin. There are five types of Rich Pins – Movie, Place, Recipe, Article, and Product. Online retailers can benefit from Product Pins which include real-time pricing and stock availability.
Before this update, Shopify users needed to add meta tag data to their site's code in order to set up Rich Pins. We’ve partnered with Pinterest to make the process much easier for our merchants. As of today, any images Pinned from Shopify product pages (by the merchant or their visitors) will be automatically published as Rich Pins.
Here's how Pinterest Rich Pins can help Shopify merchants:
<ul>
<li> Click-Through Rate: Improvement in CTR for many merchants. Target reported a  <a href="http://blog.ubervu.com/latest-pins-pinterest-brand-can-use-article-rich-place-pins.html" target="_blank"> 70% increase in traffic from Pinterest</a> when Rich Pins were enabled.</li>
<li> Discoverability:  Images become eligible for Pinterest’s own curated categories. The “ <a href="http://www.pinterest.com/gifts/" target="_blank"> Gifts </a> ” feed, for example, only considers Rich Pins for inclusion.</li>
<li> Price Notifications:  If you reduce the price of your product or run a sale, customers who repinned your products will receive an email from Pinterest notifying them of the price drop and prompting them to buy.</li>
</ul>
Here are some more details, along with how to <a href="http://docs.shopify.com/manual/settings/checkout-and-payment/payment-gateway#coinbase" target="_blank">get started with Rich Pins on Shopify</a>.
<h2>A Bit of Bitcoin</h2>
<a href="/shopify" target="_blank"> <img src="https://cmscritic.com/ms-content/uploads/2023/08/coinbase700x0.jpg" alt="Shopify" /> </a>
Also, following some beta testing from selected Shopify users, Coinbase's services have been drafted in to help Shopify users accept Bitcoin more easily.
Bitcoin is a digitl currency and a peer-to-peer online financial network that people use to send payments to eachother. The video below helps explain n a little more detail.
<iframe src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/s4g1XFU8Gto?feature=oembed" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen"></iframe>
Coinbase is an international bitcoin wallet and platform service already used by companies like Expedia and Google. Shopify's newly introduced Coinbase integration can be used alongside other payment services, like  <a href="https://www.shopify.com/payments" target="_blank"> Shopify Payments</a> and PayPal.
Coinbase offers a two-click checkout experience and simple refunds that make accepting bitcoin payments easy and convenient. All Shopify merchants can currently use Coinbase to accept bitcoin and anyone with a U.S. bank account can convert their bitcoin to USD.
Here's some more information, along with how to <a href="http://docs.shopify.com/manual/settings/checkout-and-payment/payment-gateway#coinbase" target="_blank">start accepting Bitcoin with Coinbase on Shopify</a>.

Shopify Announces Pinterest Rich Pins and New Bitcoin Payment Option

As an advertiser or marketer, you have a lot on your plate. And it’s not just you; <a href="http://www.thedrum.com/news/2017/03/10/the-drum-launches-webinar-tackle-overworked-marketers">53% of marketers</a> say they have “too much to do with too little time.”
You’re probably looking for ways to streamline your work and get marketing results faster. You don’t want to spend hours monitoring and analyzing metrics like time on page, bounce rates, etc. to determine the quality of traffic coming into your site.
And you don't have to anymore.
The <a href="https://www.finteza.com/en/integrations?utm_source=www.cmscritic.com&amp;utm_campaign=0773.en.finteza&amp;utm_medium=articles&amp;utm_term=finteza.wordpress.plugin&amp;utm_content=learn.more">Finteza WordPress plugin</a> provides a faster and better way to track traffic quality.
<figure class="kg-card kg-image-card"><img src="https://cmscritic.com/ms-content/uploads/2023/08/finteza-1.png" /></figure>
It saves you hours you’d have wasted monitoring multiple metrics to determine traffic quality. It does this by analyzing visitors’ behaviour on your pages, showing you what percentage of them — from specific sources — are relevant and non-relevant.
Finteza displays traffic quality this way:
<figure class="kg-card kg-image-card"><img src="https://cmscritic.com/ms-content/uploads/2023/08/finteza-2.png" /></figure>
The colours in the traffic quality bar represent the following:
●      Green represents quality traffic.
●      Yellow indicates visitors coming from proxy servers, VPN, Tor Browser, etc.
●      Red symbolizes traffic you don’t want; it covers traffic from spammy IP addresses or hackers and visitors trying to falsify request parameters and cookies.
●      The grey colour represents traffic from social networks, instant messengers, and search engine bots.
<figure class="kg-card kg-image-card"><img src="https://cmscritic.com/ms-content/uploads/2023/08/finteza-3.png" /></figure>
You can also dig deeper by tracking the quality of traffic from specific sources like Facebook Ads, Instagram Stories and so on.
For example, here’s how the tool shows the rate of quality vs inferior traffic from Facebook Ads for a certain site:
<figure class="kg-card kg-image-card"><img src="https://cmscritic.com/ms-content/uploads/2023/08/finteza-4.png" /></figure>
This way, you get the real gist of how much quality traffic is coming from every channel you’re spending your advertising and marketing budget on.
Even more, the plugin is free; you can download it <a href="https://wordpress.org/plugins/finteza-analytics/">here</a> or simply search for the Finteza plugin from your WordPress admin dashboard and install it.
To use the Finteza WordPress plugin, you’d need to get a website ID which you can easily register in the plugin’s settings page.
<figure class="kg-card kg-image-card"><img src="https://cmscritic.com/ms-content/uploads/2023/08/finteza-5.png" /></figure>
Once you’re registered, you can begin tracking your site traffic quality right away.
<h2>In conclusion</h2>
You need a web analytics tool that gives you blatantly accurate reports. The more accurate reports you have, the better you’re able to allocate your marketing spend. And the better you’re able to allocate your marketing budget, the more revenue you’re able to make.
Get your <a href="https://wordpress.org/plugins/finteza-analytics/">Finteza WordPress plugin here</a>.

The sad truth of the matter is that there are plenty of ways for intruders (and those with bad intentions) to cause website owners a ton of grief. This can range from attacking your website for the purpose of simply taking it down to attempting to hack it to spread malware. To combat this, it's important to be prepared. In this article, we'll share with you how to secure a website in 5 steps.
In fact, a <a href="http://www.wpwhitesecurity.com/wordpress-news/statistics-70-percent-wordpress-installations-vulnerable/">study conducted by WP White Security</a> found that 73% of all WordPress installations contained known vulnerabilities that would have quickly and easily been found through the utilization of automated tools.
It’s these types of security holes that have resulted in cyber criminals hacking into over 170,000 back in 2012 alone – a number that is probably even higher by now.
<img src="https://cmscritic.com/ms-content/uploads/2023/08/how-to-secure-your-cms.jpeg" alt="how-to-secure-your-cms" />
<h2>What makes websites vulnerable to hacking?</h2>
Websites are appealing targets to hackers for a wide variety of reasons, mainly the number of weak entry points – such as the numerous plugins available for CMS like WordPress.
Many people assume that, because CMS like WordPress and Drupal are highly popular and recognized names, there must be some form of protection. They can’t just leave all of their users vulnerable, right?
Think again.
CMS are inherently open to attack because of the fact their foundation is an open source framework. These types of shared development environments have myriad benefits, but they also come with just as many issues.
Because of the popularity of the top CMS available out there, the security holes within these systems are actively being identified and targeted, both by the good guys (security research teams) and the bad guys (cyber criminals).
Once these holes have been found, they turn that particular CMS into treasure troves of data for cyber criminals, even to the point of creating an entry point for automated attacks on a massive scale.
To add salt to the wound, there are users who use the same passwords for all of their accounts, or even just use weak passwords. These leave their admin accounts open to attacks, even if they aren’t aware of it. This can result in their websites being injected with all sorts of malware and escalating the issue beyond the point of control.
These issues can even result in the websites becoming blacklisted by Google and other search engines, which adversely affects their business or brand as a whole.
<h2>How to get started securing a website</h2>
There are numerous things users can do to secure a website against vulnerabilities and fortify their systems from attack.
These include:
<h3>Using a strong password</h3>
To begin with, if your website is powered by a popular CMS such as WordPress, you want to makes sure that you secure it with a very strong password. Hackers and anyone using a WordPress website themselves are very familiar with how to access the administration interface and begin attempting to login.
Even if you are not using WordPress, it doesn't take much effort to scan a website for a login / admin interface so be sure that if someone DOES find this interface, they have no chance of logging in and taking over your website.
<h4>How to set up a strong password to secure a website</h4>
Always secure with a strong password to make this process harder for hackers and other cyber criminals. Additionally, you’re going to want to hash the password(s) you use by implementing a <a href="https://auth0.com/blog/hashing-passwords-one-way-road-to-security/">slow hashing algorithm</a>.
BONUS: Block the IP for at least one minute after x amount of password authentication failures. Three is the recommended amount of attempts before IP blocking.
Use a secure password generator to create something that is next to impossible to guess: <a href="https://www.lastpass.com/password-generator">LastPass Secure Password Generator</a>
<h3>Having a firewall in place is another important way to secure a website</h3>
Setting up a firewall will not only further secure your website / CMS, but it will also help you keep an eye on suspicious activity and track them by providing a related IP address for the source of that activity.
Once you’ve detected and found suspicious activity, you can then blacklist the IP the firewall provided.
Having said that, if you are not the type who wants to have to do these things manually, then it's a good idea to put in place a security service to do so for you. Most of the offerings out there are relatively reasonable in price and will save you a lot of headaches.
<h4>Our recommended website security company:</h4>
SiteGuarding.com
I recommend putting in place a website security service such as <a href="http://bit.ly/cc-siteguarding">SiteGuarding.com</a> to keep your website safe from hacking attempts. SiteGuarding is a security service that protects your website against malware and hacker exploits.
<h3>3 . ALWAYS Backup your CMS</h3>
This is one of the most essential aspects of CMS and website security and is actually just an overall good habit to have.
Have a backup system in place that will make it possible to recover your website in the event something happens. Always make sure your backups are updated as much as possible to avoid any security vulnerabilities or further problems down the road.
BONUS: Make sure your CMS and any extensions it may have are updated. These upgrades should be double-checked to ensure they are fully compatible with your system before you allow or make them. Of course, you’re always going to want to backup your CMS before conducting these updates.
If you currently don't have a means of backing up your website, we recommend going with a solid hosting company that offers this service for free.
Here are a few we recommend that have daily backups:
<ul>
<li><a href="http://www.anrdoezrs.net/click-7040701-10833186">GoDaddy</a></li>
<li><a href="https://kinsta.com?kaid=QQMMZOGRMCQE">Kinsta – If you run WordPress</a></li>
<li><a href="https://www.bluehost.com/">BlueHost</a></li>
</ul>
<h3>4 . Protect against SQL-injections</h3>
An SQL-injection is a cyber attack that embeds malicious code within your CMS and its backend database. Once it’s in there, that malicious code then creates database query results and / or actions that you definitely do not want executed.
There are several types of SQL-injections and they enable the cyber criminal to do a whole variety of things. These include:
<ul>
<li>Editing, deleting, reading, or adding to the content of your CMS</li>
<li>Accessing and reading source code from the files on the CMS server</li>
<li>Write files to the server</li>
</ul>
While it is true that any one of those things relies heavily upon the capabilities of the cyber criminal, any SQL-injection can still lead to you losing control of your database and web server.
In order to prevent this from happening, <a href="https://www.netsparker.com/blog/web-security/understanding-sql-injection-protection/">use prepared statements</a>, as these separate the structure and data. This allows the SQL server to interpret them without being open and vulnerable to a hacker that is trying to alter the structure of the SQL query for their own malicious purposes.
The best way to protect against these is to implement a website security service that will keep your site protected against attacks. Here's an example of an excellent one: <a href="http://bit.ly/cc-siteguarding">Site Guarding</a>
<h3>5 . Get an SSL Certificate</h3>
An SSL certificate (secure sockets layer) is the standard security technology that is used to produce an encrypted link that goes between the web server and the browser. It is this link that will ensure that the data that goes between the server and the browser will stay private and secure.
Adding an SSL certificate to your domain will not only add an additional layer of security to your CMS, but will also help with SEO because it tends to get your website ranked higher in search engines.
If you don't yet have an SSL certificate, <a href="https://shareasale.com/r.cfm?b=1188781&amp;u=407830&amp;m=46483&amp;urllink=&amp;afftrack=">get one here</a>.
<img src="https://cmscritic.com/ms-content/uploads/2023/08/how-to-secure-your-cms-1.jpeg" alt="how-to-secure-your-cms-1" />
<h2>Final Thoughts</h2>
Website security is one of those things that can truly be considered a “Catch-22” type of situation.
The more cyber criminals are out there trying to gain access into people’s CMS, the more security researchers crack down on it and come with new methods of protection. The greater the security becomes, the harder the cyber criminals will work to gain access – and they do like challenges.
It’s really an ongoing battle that is seemingly without end.
But, where does that leave you and your CMS?
It’s hard to say for sure where your CMS lies within the cyber criminal-infested waters, but there are things you can do to ensure your CMS is as secure as you can possibly make it. These five methods of security will help reduce threats to your CMS and help keep your data out of jeopardy.

Veolay releases 1.1

<a href="https://www.blackmonk.com/" target="_blank">BlackMonk</a>, the CMS for online newspapers, magazine sites, business directories and community portals, has unveiled their “biggest release yet.”
<a href="https://www.blackmonk.com/" target="_blank"><img src="https://cmscritic.com/ms-content/uploads/2023/08/bm-1.png" /></a>
A range of modules and features have been improved, including publishing processes, galleries, stock images, and more. Let's take a closer look.
<h2>Editor's Pick &amp; Improved Galleries</h2>
Authors now get their own profile pages with links to their posts, making it easier for readers to access more of their written content.
On top of article favoriting and author subscribing, an “Editor’s Pick” page has also been introduced, enabling readers to browse through a select few featured posts.

New visual tags like “Breaking news” and “Top ten stories” have also been unveiled, so editors can grab more attention.
Furthermore, videos, audio clips, Tweets, Instagram photos and Vine videos can now be embedded anywhere.

Readers can interact with embedded media right from your web portal, too. For instance, readers can like, favorite and retweet Tweets without leaving your website.
<h2>Galleries &amp; Stock Images:</h2>
Getty Images and Shutterstock now come integrated with BlackMonk, letting you browse through thousands of stock images for your articles and galleries.

You only need to configure your Shutterstock, Getty Images and Flickr API keys in the BlackMonk settings, and you are good to use millions of professionally snapped images on your web portal, without having to leave the BlackMonk dashboard.
<h2>Social Q&amp;A &amp; Design</h2>
BlackMonk's Q&amp;A feature is now more social.
BlackMonk has enabled sharing of Q&amp;A’s on social media, which will amplify the reach of the questions. In addition, admins can prune out the questions and answers just don’t cut the mustard.
Also, BlackMonk users can now configure custom themes, by swapping out fonts and colors.

<h2>Time to Talk Price?</h2>
This is indeed a massive update from BlackMonk CMS. It's great to see the platform progressing like this.
<a href="/blackmonk-cms-review/" target="_blank">I personally reviewed BlackMonk CMS</a>, and I know it's a capable platform. However, I always like to make a point about pricing when I can, especially when a CMS is <a href="/blackmonk-small-business-edition-released/" target="_blank">aiming to dabble with startups and small businesses</a>.
<a href="https://www.blackmonk.com/saas/plans/" target="_blank">BlackMonk's lowest plan</a> comes in at $80 per month. I can't help but feel the disgruntlement of those startups and small businesses that have to look elsewhere after deciding that $80 is simply too expensive for their project.
Perhaps a cheaper and further stripped-down plan can be offered, to give such potential users an access route into the platform. With features now flourishing, now might be a good time to explore such a move.

BlackMonk 4.0 Released

Global social media <a href="http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-19816709" target="_blank">finally hit the 1 Billion user mark</a> in 2012 – and there have been no signs of slowed growth since. As they compete, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and many others are slowly but surely bringing social networking to every corner of the earth.
As a result of such exponential growth, the number of content management systems dedicated to building social networking websites has greatly increased over the years. Thanks to their ever-growing number, some good old fashioned competition has spurred many social networking CMS into providing professional platforms of the highest quality. Yet at the same time, scores of poor CMS have also flooded through, hoping to nibble on a slice of the gigantic social networking pie.
To help un-blur the lines between the two groups, we have compiled 8 of the very best social networking CMS which allow you to build a well structured, professional social networking website.
As a bonus, we've also got a new post we published called “<a href="/how-to-create-a-social-network/">How to Create a Social Network</a>” that gives you full step by step instructions on the process.
<h2>1. Pligg</h2>
<img src="https://cmscritic.com/ms-content/uploads/2023/08/pligg.jpg" alt="pligg" />
The Pligg content management system was designed from the ground up to manage a website with an unlimited number of authors and contributors. In essence, all participating users are in control of the website’s content. This is in contrast to the standard website structure, where only a set few managerial or administrative members control core content.
Pligg's open-source CMS is incredibly easy to use and manage, and can easily help power social networks and other interactive communites. There are plenty of templates to choose from, along with a plethora of plugins and extensions. The software encourages visitors to register on your website so that they can submit their content and connect with other users.
The unique user driven CMS relies on independent author contributions and participation. Originally, Pligg began as a simple CMS which allowed registered users to submit, comment and vote on news stories – which, to this day, remains a key feature. Amongst other social interactions, users can vote on articles and publications that interest them, and those with most votes eventually appear on the homepage of the Pligg powered website.

<h2>2. BuddyPress</h2>
<img src="https://cmscritic.com/ms-content/uploads/2023/08/buddy.jpg" alt="buddypress" />
As <a href="/which-cms-make-up-the-wordpress-competition/" target="_blank">WordPress continues to cruise past its competition</a> year on year, the team behind the CMS giant have also released BuddyPress, a social networking equivalent to their mainstream powerhouse platform.
BuddyPress carries the same high quality structure and presentation which WordPress is famous for. It's free, open-source and allows you to customize your social networking website to no end. Features such as comprehensive personal profiles, friend connections, discussion boards, private messaging and so on, are all implemented into the foundations of BuddyPress' comprehensive CMS. Powerful extensions and plugins are on hand to help you tweak even further.
If you're aiming to add your social networking platform on to an existing WordPress website, BuddyPress is of course the natural choice. Seamless integration with WordPress is easy to achieve, making it the ultimate social extension.

A wide variety of templates, paired with the ability to create your own, makes Dolphin extremely customizable. Facebook integration, built-in mass mailers and site statistics make Dolphin a pretty difficult social networking CMS to beat. <a href="/boonex-dolphin-review/" target="_blank">Check out our in-depth review of Dolphin</a>.

8 Great Social Networking CMS

<a href="http://www.uplandsoftware.com/" target="_blank"> Upland Software</a> have announced that its web content management system, <a href="http://www.clickability.com/" target="_blank"> Clickability</a>, has been issued patent <a href="http://patft.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-Parser?Sect1=PTO2&amp;Sect2=HITOFF&amp;p=1&amp;u=%2Fnetahtml%2FPTO%2Fsearch-bool.html&amp;r=1&amp;f=G&amp;l=50&amp;co1=AND&amp;d=PTXT&amp;s1=Chourey.INNM.&amp;OS=IN/Chourey&amp;RS=IN/Chourey" target="_blank">8,626,913</a> by the US Patent Office.
Founded in 1999, Clickability is a leading software-as-a-service (SaaS) WCM that helps enterprises efficiently manage content globally for all web, mobile, and social initiatives.
 The patent in question is for a feature set within Clickability’s website personalization and targeting solution, Website Marketing Acceleration (WMA). The feature allows marketers to configure and test web visitor segmentation and profiling rules, and then apply these rules in a test setting using pre-built target personas.
In other words – together with the broader features of WMA – the feature helps marketers to target the right content to the right person at the right time.
<img src="https://cmscritic.com/ms-content/uploads/2023/08/click.png" alt="Clickability" />
<h2>Audience Segmentation &amp; Progressive Profiling</h2>
Here's an overview of what enhancements this new patented feature brings to WMA:
<ul>
<li>Audience Segmentation: Marketers can define any number of audience segments however they wish, including by geography, industry, job function, company size, etc. Users create segment rules so that only the correct, targeted questions are asked of a visitor in a specific segment. </li>
<li>Lead scoring: Marketers score leads based on visitor data and activity on the website.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Profile Level: Marketers establish profile levels defined by aspects such as a visitor’s lead score and how much information is known about a visitor. Visitor information can be gathered explicitly (gather data by requesting information as visitors download content) or implicitly.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Progressive Profiling: Marketers establish gates (questions via forms that visitors must complete) for accessing content based on profile level. For example, visitors in profile level one with a lead score of 10 will receive different gates, or questions, than visitors with a lead score of 30 in profile level two.</li>
<li>Marketers can create a Resource Portfolio where visitors can save content and where marketers can add additional content.</li>
<li>Marketers can import data into WMA from any source, and aggregate visitor information from WMA into marketing automation and CRM platforms.</li>
</ul>
Regarding the news, Noah Logan, General Manager of Clickability, made these comments:
<blockquote>
“Seventy percent of the B2B buyer’s journey is complete before even engaging with a vendor, and 87% of B2B buyers say that content has an impact on vendor selection.
 There’s no doubt that for B2B marketers, the most critical investment they’ll make is in providing an engaging, effective digital content experience. Leveraging Clickability’s powerful, flexible content management platform, our WMA solution provides marketers with the easiest, most effective way to target their website content and provide truly personalized experiences.
As a result, they can accelerate the process of moving anonymous website visitors through the marketing funnel to become qualified sales leads.”
